I could not resist doing this on my latest trip to the park for their fireworks event as this is one of my favourite themes of all time for any attraction I currently know. This is a clean audio recording of Galactica's full 25-minute soundtrack which is played in the queue, station and plaza areas of the ride with no background noise from wind, screams or people talking.
(4:58 onwards is the new section, the first few minutes are a recording of the version currently online. 8:00 minutes onwards is when the recording becomes a bit clearer too.)
What you are listening to was recorded on my smartphone's built-in microphone and then heavily enhanced and edited through various software to make it sound as clean, sharp and bassy as possible. However, I am not a wizard when it comes to audio so I admit it could sound a lot better than this current form.
Please note that if I am requested to remove this video from one of IMAscore, Merlin or Alton Towers, I will do so immediately at their request. I understand Merlin do not want to publicly release the full version of this track (which strikes me as extremely odd considering I and many others will gladly pay money to listen to this, much like almost every other theme park in the world does), so if the event occurs, this video will get taken down.
Although, when you consider this is not a studio copy of the original soundtrack, and various other fully recorded music for other rides owned by Merlin across all of their theme parks are easily available online through CZcams (such as Scorpion Express, The Swarm, Dark Forest, Derren Brown's Ghost Train, Spinball Whizzer etc. just to name a few), I cannot see how this should be an issue. Thank you for your understanding.
Lastly, unfortunately, this recording is only in mono not stereo due to having only one usable microphone on the phone, as well as standing next to only one speaker and not two.

Theme Park Kingdom Thanks! I'm just frankly amazed not one person until now has done a recording of Galactica, as there is a very loud and clear speaker (the one you can hear in this video) next to the entrance of the Rollercoaster Restaurant.
Seeming it was very loud and is enough to block out any background noise, I thought I would try to record it as it's very unlikely Merlin will ever allow IMAscore to release this (for some reason).
So when I visited for fireworks last weekend, the weather was perfect and I knew the next time we would all listen to this would be March 2017, so I couldn't let this go. I had to get something from it!

this is amazing something I have wanted to for a long time I have subscribed to you as a result of this . it's a shame that it's impossible to get it in any better quality . but the quality of this recording is still good considering it's come from a phone and speaker

Theme Park Music Looped Thanks! I couldn't let this escape from me when visiting last week as there was a lovely, loud speaker in the plaza area which was enough to block out any background noise. I'm just surprised how well it turned out more than anything as I wasn't expecting this method to work.
Yeah, it's best to do it when you have the opportunity! I have never heard the full soundtrack before as I last visited the park in 2015 just before The Smiler crash when it was originally Air and this is a truly amazing soundtrack! I'm sure we all wouldn't force you to do more but it would be nice. Mabey Spinball Whizzer? As there is a recording of it online but i'm not sure if it is the full soundtrack for not.

Ah, yes. I was also planning on attempting Spinball Whizzer too, but as you can probably tell just from hearing it through that video, there is loads of background noise coming primarily from the lift chain. Plus, none of the speakers had audio quality as high as Galactica's one when I visited and most were either broken or had water damage so didn't sound quite right.
If I recall, the full version of Spinball's new music is 15 minutes long, so this is half of the full thing.
If these do get fixed by the start of the new season next year, I may give it a try next time.
Yeah, that's a good idea, recently Alton Towers have been adding a lot more music around the park which they did lack of. Hopefully, they will replace some of the broken speakers in Spinball Whizzer as part of the Towers Loving Care Program! Also, amend speaker volume ext.

Reece Thorpe As far as I know, IMA would like to publish more of the soundtrack either online or on a purchasable CD from their online store, but it's not their fault they haven't.
The fault and final decision is down to Merlin and for some reason, they are so protective over their music across all of their attractions, which is likely why you don't see anything from them from the year 2011 onwards.
If the demand is high enough (and I can assure everyone that it is), Merlin might consider it at one stage and possibly allow IMA to sell the music, but that's a very slim chance. Strikes me as odd Merlin won't do it because I could name a dozen other parks across the world which do it too.

MilesK Thanks! What I meant was other people besides me have captured some sections of DBGT, not the whole thing.
I was planning on getting a recording of DBGT, but all of the speakers are in the queue above your heads, so unless I held my phone next to it for 35 minutes in a queue full of people it was near impossible. Plus, the speakers are remarkably quiet too.

How did you block out all the noise form people talking and stuff cause I have a recording of mystic timbers track but it is so hard to hear from the people I would really love to learn how to block that out and listen to the soundtrack myself!

Kieran Vids I wouldn’t say no at this stage, but it would be remarkably tricky. Wicker Man has 3 different audio tracks playing in the plaza and queue areas, all in sync, so there would be 3 different tracks to get, which might prove difficult given how loud the coaster is too. Might try next season though!

What do you mean by "After 11AM" within the title?
Theme Park Music Looped Alton Towers have announced even further cuts to their operating hours and times for 2018 whereby Galactica and Nemesis will now open at 11am instead of the previous usual 10am.
I changed the title of this video as a mark of anger against the resort because it's simply not acceptable they can get away with such awful operations like this.

was listening to theme park music on the bluetooth speaker at work after we closed, this came up and i knew I recognised some clasical music in it, I had to listen again to try and figure out what it is, that and I've become a bit of a theme park fan myself over the last year :D
The level of dedication when you want the soundtrack so badly that you sit there with your phone out for 25 min ^^
Am no different though, yet I feel crazy for doing it, even more so because I have a dedicated recording device instead of using my phone, can give me some really good recordings and I can still use my phone to do whatever with. Even though there is an Alton Towers CD now, I would still be incredibly curious about Wicker Man. I read there's 3 zones and those are all in sync? Where exactly do these zones start? I'd be interested on trying to get recordings of those eventually but as I havent been there yet, I dont know where each zone starts or where good speakers would be for that.
