NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? Watch this first: • How-to Saddle Hunt wit...
This is a very minimalist method for mobile saddle hunters. We are showing you exactly how we climb into large trees with minimal equipment, cost and effort.
This method may not be for everyone, but think of it as another tool in your arsenal. Please watch until the end as there's a lot of information on DRT climbing technique that we believe is one of the safest, quietest, least expensive ways to climb a tree for saddle hunting. I hope you all benefit from our technique. Please like and share with others.
Please remember that climbing of any kind is inherently dangerous. The DRT climbing method has been a standard in the arbor industry for 100 years. But remember It's only safe if you do it right. Ensure your knots are tied correctly and make sure you set every knot before you get off the ground. This is our method that we use in saddle hunting, but only do what makes you comfortable and do this at your own risk.
Feel free to comment down below with your questions, We'd love to help in any way we can.

Thank you so much for making DRT available to regular Joe Shmoe hunters like me! I ascended my first tree yesterday and felt like a million dollars. Can’t wait for this season to begin!!

Awesome brother ! It’s such a safe , effective and minimalist approach to accessing your tree. Most peoples first impression is that it’s to hard without even trying it first. The real plus is that if you you can’t do it because of a weight issue or physical ailment . You can easily accessories this system with a foot loop on a CT Roll n lock and now use leg power to aid you for easy ascension
Thanks for the support !!! 🦌

With typical use(Hunting, practice, hunting spot prep etc) how often should you replace the rope?

    • @NYSaddleHunter
      @NYSaddleHunter  Před 2 měsíci +1

You’ll easily do 3 to 4 seasons with it if you’re using it a lot.
I keep one for scout climbing trees and the other stays in my hunting rig so not to get contaminated with human scent.

What saddle are you running now?

    • @NYSaddleHunter

Still have my flatbranch . Without a doubt most comfortable saddle there is. Unfortunately it has a black cloud hanging over it with all the people who got screwed !!!
I have the new Venatic from Trophyline . Probably the lightest saddle on the market well built and thought out . If you are a stick and platform guy I think it’s right up there with the front runners in that category. But for my style, rope access guys the panel is to short and keeps hiking up when climbing rope style.
TX5 Lonestar is another good one put a few sits in it . Definitely want to put some more time in it before I give an opinion.
I’m playing around with a first for me 2 panel design by Buzzard Roost . I’m pretty impressed with it . Climbed several time up and down using DRT and it performed very well. It has good adjustability in the two back straps that connect the panels and also a unique design where Benny attached the d loops from each panel . adjustable bridge is quite different in the choice of hitch he used . Definitely a fan of it
Even his leg loops have their own unique spin on design.
Benny put a lot of thought in this design and it shows . It definitely will make hunters take notice.
Cruzr is still a great choice if your looking for a all day sit saddle . The closest thing to the comfort of the solitude 2.0
These are just my opinions comfort is a very subjective thing. And I am extremely fussy when it come to it.
Best thing to do is attend a saddle meet where you can try on several different models.
