I really appreciate the rapid pace of these videos. I can always pause, and rewind if things are happening fast. But this is an information-rich, concise video - much more informative and engaging than the slow, "move it along" videos I often see. Thank you for sharing your great knowledge April.
As always awesome video covering basics of components and Power Fx use as UDF. Hoping this feature to become available as preview from experimental soon so that can be stable use.
Hi April, very good video - thanks a lot! I created a component in a component library and added it, like you did it, in a new app. After that I made an update to the component. When will it be refreshed in the app?
April, your tutorials are awesome! The development team at Miami-Dade County is grateful; we're new to Power Apps. I have been using the calendar component; for some reason, it stared showing 0 for every date and the month shows 'Today' instead of the actual month. I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong. Any ideas?
Really good overview April. Components still seem quite limited IMHO for e.g. you couldn't pass a collection to the gallery you demonstrated. Also, I have a requirement in customer process whereby I want a number of Power App forms to be able to update a column on a customer details list via a form in a popup dialog . Would be great to be able to put the various UI controls into a single form component ( in a library) , but I am not sure this possible .
Apparently there has been a change and now the components tab is gone. Microsoft wants us to use component Libraries now? There doesnt seem to be a way to create them or export them from what I can tell. How is this accomplished now?
Do you offer a Master Class for novices liking to get started with PowerApps? I feel like there are so many great videos on specific features and functionalities, but I haven't had luck in finding a series that helps people start from square one.
Hi Peter - I don't have something like that at the moment. My ultimate goal is to post enough content that I can have a guided playlist on my channel which walks you through in order "how to get started with Power Apps". I have that playlist created now and I have a decent start: czcams.com/play/PLINAH02_IDH9A_r-9b30z_ayJvyHS1hSc.html I'd love your feedback on what I have in there now and where you see the biggest content gaps are so that I can get this finished. This is a big goal of mine. I'm also considering looking into courses for Udemy of LinkedIn Learning.
Hello, kindly please, can you make video about later added enhanced properties for components - the behaviors/events and "pure" component libraries usage, to properly separate components out of scope of apps? I want to understand such advanced features, as I tried to make some menu as simple example and hit obstacles quite easily. There is/was(?) something missing for components without any knowledge about target app context, then such enhanced "behaviors" was added, something was deprecated about app context access and its not too much discussed how to use this all properly ... thanks
Great tutorial, is it possible to create a component programmatically in a custom function? Like adding N buttons or icons with a function, after clicking a button?
my web version looks totaly different to yours. I dont have the line with "New Screen", "label", "button" and so on. I also cannot imsert components to my screens because I do not have the button... do you know a different way to insert components?
Hi April, not sure if things have changed over the last year, but I cannot get it to work. Trying your regxutils example, the main issue is the component cannot find the parameter name when I add it to the code, I guess because it is still experimental
Terrific tutorial ,April - thanks!
Thanks Jim!
I've gone from overwhelmed to perhaps over confident. a very clear explanation of the fundamentals. this really helped, thanks!
I'm so happy that I could help you not feel overwhelmed about components!

So glad you included the Component libraries. This is exactly how we can achieve consistency across our apps. Such a valuable run-through. Thanks

Hi April, is there a way for me to pass an expression (formula) to the header text as I want to include the order number?
Brilliant!
Thanks!
Thanks April for showing on to use component
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Great! You've covered everything about components! No need to search others sources! =o)
Thanks - glad to hear I covered everything :)

Is it possible within one of these components to reach out to an external API to grab some data and maybe prepopulate fields in a form with that data?
Thanks 😎
Welcome 😊
You are supper! I am a new subscriber to your channel.
Thanks so much for the sub!
Thanks April
You're welcome!
Can we do Custom Connector REST calls in Component?

That's a cool idea but I don't believe it's possible right now

Same here. It's very frustrating.
i’d assume these “power apps” have something to do with windows powershell
No relation actually. Everything is named "Power" because it's part of the "Power Platform"
