He sings about being yourself. He is a nice and likeable person, even if this song is not everyones taste 😊

Thank you for the reaction! Yeah, a lot of people like it, he won the televote. It's not everyone's cup of tea, and you are very much entiteled to your opinion, but I can't help but think your preconceptions of Eurovision seemed to influence your thoughts quite a bit. Like you said at the end "if you are a good artist, you don't go to Eurovision", hard to stay open minded about anything if that's how you're going into it. But as I said, it's absolutely fine to not like it, for me, you just seemed kind of set on your opinion before even watching the video, when in your other videos I haven't got that feeling. But that might just be me!

Like Celine Dion did not win esc by performing in switzerland... Spoiler alert Shes from Canada. I think Käärijä won, but just my penny for your thougst. Loreen is much better singer yes. Its not singing competition , but song ... Like Gangnam style is it any good singing ... yet most of us know the song.

Fun fact: Nightwish won public votes by a country mile. Unfortunately they didn't fare well with "professional" votes and weren't chosen for Eurovision. Yeah..

Käärijä got the second highest public vote in eurovision history, Cha Cha Cha was a HUGE contender to win! And he's loved by so many, he's an absolute sweetheart
Also, I was writing a comment about how I liked your reaction because even tho you didn't enjoy the song you were being respectful, BUT you had to go and say that "a good artist wouldn't go to eurovision"??? what the actual fuck???
That is completely disrespectful and rude! Especially because sooo many amazing artist came out of Eurovision!
An example is Maneskin an italian rock band who won eurovision in 2021! Idk if you know them but if you don't you should react to them, the are now HUGE: selling out stadiums and tours and are know as one of the best current rock bands!!
That being said I think it's just completely disrespectful what you said about Käärijä and what you were insinuating about every single eurovision artist, I definitely like your wife's comment at the end about how even tho she didn't like the song she has complete respect of Käärijä as an artist. Much love to your wife, she was a sweetheart!

The lyrics are about him going out for a drink and feeling down. He maybe wants to dance but in Finnish culture it's not something you would just do randomly in a public setting. So it comes to a point where he decides maybe he should just go home instead. But he stops and thinks "hey, i'm gonna dance anyways and have some fun". It's about being who you are, listening to yourself, and doing what you want to do even if you look silly or if societal norms or pressures you put on yourself tell you otherwise.

Eurovision is not all about bad music, it really has some good music too...but listening to music with that attitude it's going to be bad.

Yeah, its very different, so of course it wont be everyone's cup of tea, and that's fine. To be perfectly honest, I think his main selling point is that he's a very likeable guy, and his offstage persona carried him onstage too. I don't particularly like the song either, but I like him.

    • @clauu9370
      @clauu9370 Před 10 měsíci +1

I think it was a mix of things, like there were a lot of people who love both the song and him (like me) but I definitely saw many falling in love with cha cha cha, even thought it usually isn't their type of music, because not only is Käärijä (like you said) just a really likable person (he was after all the life of the party behind the scenes, like everyone wanted a piece of him, which is very understandable cuz same LMAOO) but also because of his charisma and confidence on stage, how fun the song and performances are and just how it puts almost everyone in a good mood with a smile on their faces. Idk I think I only really saw one or two reactors genuinely not liking it, everyone else ends up loving it

Hey there, first time seeing your videos for me! It was refreshing to see an honest, (negative) reaction to this song.
Having said that, I couldn't escape the thought that your preconceived notions about Eurovision perhaps affected your opinions? ☺️ I can understand it btw, having also seen the trashy 2000s Eurovisions, but honestly the contest has been going through a bit of a renaissance the last couple of years!
I see you're metal fans: that particular subgenre is still under-appreciated and -represented in ESC, in my opinion. The heaviest entry to make it was AWS with their song Viszlát Nyár. I'd encourage you guys to check it out! ☺️
    all the best!

I really dont think its true that good artists would not go to Eurovision. A lot of countries send their really respected artists. Maneskin the Italian band won in 2021 - I love their song Torna a Casa. they now sell out world wide tours and support groups like the rolling stones. From the Uk we had Sam Ryder in 2022 who you may not like - but I think his voice is great. He sings a song called Tiny Riot, the live version is uplifting.

As somebody commented he's rapping and singing about being yourself. Not really. He is singing that he had rough week at work and now he goes out drinking when he has weekend. That's very finnish and doesn't need any interpretation but ofc some ppl do their own. It's that and nobody needs to sugarcoat it.

It seems that I missed it when you said that good artist don't attend Eurovisioun, or something like that. I just saw it in the comments. And I have to add another comment now.
I understand your view and it is completely reasonable. I feel like that often, because Eurovision has become a complete bs if you ask me, but then sometimes I get really surprised, in a positive way. Actually most of the contestants are great singers, because Eurovision has always been about SINGING a good song and entertain people. But today's comercial music is not something that I understand, nor like. Which doesn't mean that some singer/artist is not good, only that it's definitely not for me.
But there are still several (or even more, if you ask other people) songs that has been really good in last 20 years. For example, in 2007 Serbia won and we sent one of our best singers (if not THE best, I don't know because I am not into Serbian music at all, but I know her and I know how crazy good she is). Last year we sent one artist which was a complete shock for me, but most positive shock possible. And I think that she would have won if only people really understood what she was singing about. I think you would be very surprised by both of those performances. And it is only Serbia. Every other country has some story similar. You might give a chance to another artists, because there are some really good ones. But, is watching/following Eurovision worth of time? Definitely not.
So, this is only my personal opinion. People might not agree with me and it is ok, but I just had to say that I understand your feelings towards Eurovision, that I find them very reasonable, but that not everything has been so horrible in last 20 years (that's the period that I know a little about).
And btw, stay honest - ALWAYS! 🖤🖤🖤
Edit: I would also strongly recommend you to check Lordi. Maybe the song they performed on Eurovision was not their best, but they are great and they had some really good music back in the days when I was listening to them. They are from Finland too. 😊

The main guitar riff is basically copied from Tattoo, that's the connection between the two songs :D. Also, he has a Rammstein logo tattoed on his chest, that would be connection number two. He's a big fan and talks about Rammstein being his inspiration a lot.

Everybody has opinion whatvthey like or not but I was thinking that if you want to do reaction of the song then maybe live perfomance is not the right video to do it. Especially eurovision final show where artist has quite a lot pressure (Ok, maybe Loreen did not but quite many other artist had 😅). But my opinion is that here you could do reaction of perfomance and the song reaction should have been original video from finnish competition

Haha... your faces - priceless. 😂 But I completely agree with you. I actually watched a small part of the finals and I absolutely hated this song (but I hated almost all songs, to be honest). I adore Rammstein and I'm glad that he is a fan, but different people are their fans and I really don't feel a need to force myself to like something just because it has connection with Rammstein. Or because it's from Finland, a country that used to be my big love.
I just don't get this new music and trends in general. I really don't.

I am an Eurovision fan and i was so glad this song did not win. He sang so badly and poorly frankly an easy song.
That said, this won the televote and i suggest you to look back at Eurovision. It is not the trashy event that it was more than a decade ago, very good artist take part to it and as far as politics, there is no winner since 2012 that did not deserve the victory

Hi from Finland again! I liked your reaction very much, I share your view of this song, it’s just pure s**t😜. There was and still is a lot of hype around Käärijä and the song contest, this song has been very popular here in Finland and all over Europe. In my view it just tells how have so bad taste of music these days. But if you want to see really and hear really good and talented music I recommend you see the video Meeting The Master by Greta Van Fleet. As I have recommended earlier….🤗
