as a Swede I think that Finland should've won. Loreen is a very good singer but she was simply bland compared to Finlands performance in every aspect.

Has to be something scuffed with the jury. In 2012 Loreen won with 372 points (jury+televote combined) and this year she already got 350+ with only the jury votes, with a song that is way worse than Euphoria
Nah. The jury let Sweden win for ABBA's 50th anniversary next year. That's the only reason they won.

@@halko1 Käärijä came home yesterday. Hundreds of people welcoming him on the Vantaa-Helsinki airport shouting: voittaja, voittaja! (winner, winner), bringing him flowers, toys etc. We just love this guy. He is honestly so nice..like really: exhausted and tired but still spending lots of time with his fans, giving them opportunity to take selfies with him, giving him hugs, talking to him. We have here a new super star. No matter that contest results.
The crowd reaction to him is the best thing ever. To much love and support.

As a Finn, I'd say this was a victory for Käärijä anyway. The song is one of the global hits this summer. That's more than many Finnish musicians have achieved.
Finland IS the winner of the public. And well deserved. This is exactly what ESC is supposed to be: fun, camp, catchy
Funny, I thought it was a song contest to bring countries together...
It was by far the outright winner. The jury are just out of touch. And May I say I am 69 and this song is just brilliant as it is everything you want. It is highly entertaining because it gets to you, you can join in both singing and dancing, it is high loaded with energy, it has the right ingredients for a good song, the choreography is awesome, the support dancers are awesome, the colour contrast of the clothing is outrageously perfect. It immediately grabs you and you want more and more.
Jury were all corrupted because next year it's 50th ABBA universary win in Eurovision. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

I only remember that her song was SO basic, so boring and absolutely standartic houling. Nothing special at all. Even not the 2nd place.

Jurys voted sweden so high that u should need almost full points from every nation to win. Full points from 18 countries wasn't still enough.
I think by quick math we would have needed even more points than ukraine got from televote last year. Aka basically full house on 12 points.
I have a feeling why. Next year is the 50th year anniversary of Abba's win. What better country to have it in other than Sweden

Mental winner
As a Swede he really should have won. I quite like Loreens song but this one just is so different and fun. The jury voted for Loreen as they like her and she has the more conventional good song, hence why Finland didn't as Käärijä is mostly totally unknown before this (outside of Finland) and this song is unconventional. The jury/public vote need to change so the public has more power to something like 30% for the jury and 70 for the public.
I could listen hours and hours to this song, makes me so happy😍 much better in my opinion than Sweden

The entire crowd in the arena were singing along. They chanted cha cha cha when the scores were being read out. Absolutely without a doubt the most popular act at Eurovision 2023.
Every year there is a discussion wether we should have jury votes or not. Having jury does have its pro and cons...BUT difference this year is that "entire" Europe is pissed. Loreen is good, but this was just fantastic. Sorry Loreen/Sweden.

I do feel sorry for Loreen, as all of us are kind of ruining her winning, but thats just how we feel.
Dont get me wrong, I either agree or disagree with the winning participant every year, the day after ESC I go on with my merry way. This year it just genuinly feels wrong.

Käärijä was the deserved winner, the ESC jury is so damn old fashionistas. Next year will become 50years since ABBA won the ESC, so I sense a game of play here, naturally the next ESC go to that celebration straight ahead. We all should make a request for the ESC to drop the freaking jury's votes and do this on only public votes. Imho a winner should not be allowed to take part a second or several times, it is unfair to so many countries. Well I myself have a good ear to music and Loreens Tattoo begin the Darude way, and then next went into an old ABBA song what I can't recall which one it was, and then the power parts made me think of Conchita Wurst and his so wonderful Rise Like a Phoenix, I wonder why?

I agree with everything except not taking part the second time. It is after all called a song contest. Its about the song, not about the artist. So as long as they come with new original songs, I dont see a problem with artists returning

I remember the mess when ESC had only televoting, I don't think EBU ever will go back to that again. But the public did have all the power in the semis this year after the jury mess that was last year. When mess occur EBU change thier rules.

As I stated in another publication, Käärijä won the people's popularity just by being himself in a genuine way. Approachable and genuine, without anything pretentious. Everything definitely has a purpose and everyone can see how he has captured the hearts of the people through Spotify, mowing down the charts. We have plenty of Loreens, but only one Käärijä
