    The heated air rises. You put the regulator upside down. If you put it the other way around, you will see that the fan turns on less.

    • @theinnovati0nlab782
      @theinnovati0nlab782  Před 5 měsíci +2

      You are absolutely right about heated air rising.
      However, I mount the converters that way because there are a few components that dissipate heat that are not mounted on a heatsink - those one need more access to convectional air cooling. Another reason for mounting the converters that way during the rest was because I needed to have access to the voltage and current potentiometers. One thing to note, though, is that with high loads on the system, the fan will turn on regardless - as a result of high dissipation. The heatsink is so small to even rely on the small fan that came with the unit. This is why it is recommended to add the external fan. As you saw in the video, with the external fan, the orientation of the heatsink didn't matter.
      Thanks for the wonderful feedback.

    only thing missing in this video is a overall schematic at the beginning. You can even add to that schematic/diagram where you connected the tools.

    Hi. Will series-connecting the power supplies' outputs themselves also work doubling the overall voltage (without the boost converters)? Two 12V AC-DC power supplies having outputs connected in series, and both 220V AC inputs in same outlet will produce 24V DC output?

  • @Ro-Bucks

      I hear you! It hard to conduct these tests with a mains supply of 120V.
      I have a goal of 2500 to 3000W in mind for the next video. I may have to split the load between two outlets, like I did on a previous test.
      Stay tuned.

    Sir, can we use this converter for a 36v inverter/ UPS from a 12v battery??
    UPS model: Eaton 9SX-1000.
    Please guide!!

    • @theinnovati0nlab782
      @theinnovati0nlab782  Před 5 měsíci

      I think you should be able to do that. The major problem is that due to the 30A current limit, you can only deliver less than 360W to your inverter if you are using an input voltage of 12V.
      I have should this precisely on my review video for this converter.
      Please watch the video below.

      Great question.
      The answer is yes.
      I covered the battery method in the first video of the series.
      See the link in the description.
      Also please pay attention to my caution/safety notes regarding the battery method......when one of the batteries die, you would lose 1/2 of your output voltage....so you have to plan for this in your overall system design.

    What is important to point out is that each boost inverter input ground on those inverters is tied to the output ground. That is why you had two independent floating supplies. Anyone mimicking this example without using independent floating supplies will be surprised at the bang that occurs and they will destroy their boost converters.

      @@theinnovati0nlab782 The power of the heater depends on the voltage, so I use the 20 amp version of this converter to heat water with a kettle from a 24 volt solar installation without an inverter, achieving a heating power of 400 W. The higher the voltage, the greater the power of the heater.
