    I think the warmer weather and more daylight has such a positive effect on our mood x

    For what it’s worth I think you are on the right tracks looking to move closer to your parents. I live in the town I was brought up in, I’m surrounded by family and friends, I walk to the shops and often meet people I know, it’s a great community, I have lovely neighbours and living here makes me happy 😀 The environment we live in has a huge impact on both are physical and mental health.
    Now you have something to plan for, it’s an exciting time for you, I wish you well xx

    Life change plans are exciting, but take time and preparation, albeit one has enough resources to make the changes that are felt needed. Best wishes - luv your frankness 🏝️

    What I like about you, you're not afraid about speaking about the things that run through your mind. I admire that, well done Claudia, 😀
    I have a gift, I'm good at seeing things that maybe good for some people. If you can take a short trip, go somewhere, do a travel video to put on CZcams, I think you would be good at it. There are obviously many travel content creators, but the good thing about yourself, you really show yourself, I think it would be interesting to see you travel.

      I am going to do more vlogs whilst I hike. There's something coming soon and I will try and make it a more regular feature. :)

    I think its a good idea to try & move back closer to your family, particularly your mum & dad as they get older. As you mention you dont really have close ties up here so in a way that makes it easier.
    I think I know the answer to this but would you consider sharing a house or accommodation with some others?I know it sounds like only students do that but that's not the case any more, people of all ages do it these days out of necessity. Anyway no harm in thinking ahead.I wish you luck with it all.

    • @workinprogresssince1974

      I spent most of my adult life when not in live in relationships in house share accommodation. I have done many of them! It isn't a good fit for me. I like a clean kitchen and bathroom, peace and quiet and no other people around. I finally got to stop house sharing when I was 44 and I never want to have to go back there again. If it was that or homelessness I would do it again out of necessity, but I would be hard pushed to make that decision.

      I must admit I would feel exactly the same way.Its far from ideal, just the times we're living in.

    In my opinion there are not so much reduced yellow stickers down south .However if you moved to a place with a garden you could grow quite a bit of food. Im growing and using lots veg from my garden. You can grow the more expensive veg. So there are always ways to overcome challenges. I agree eating less processed foods does change your mood. Good video.

      I would definitely need more outdoor space if I moved south. I think it would be hard to keep up with my budget down there. I have a lot to think about.

    I'm very much in the same boat as you regarding my stage in life and what I'm trying to do. I'm done with relationships, stress and the rat race in general. I teach online a few hours a week, but I'm really trying to plan what else I can do to make ends meet. I recently moved to a very rural part of the country and I'm loving it - still paying for it now though! No easy access anywhere but that only helps me save money. I am gradually making changes but need to get a plan in place because after this next month, my finances are due to change again. The long daylight hours always help with my motivation. Could you try a housing association to move closer to your parents?

    • @workinprogresssince1974
      @workinprogresssince1974  Před 2 měsíci

      I've thought about housing association. I have a friend down there who is in one, so I'll have a chat with her. I think at the moment it would be my only option.

    • @RiverWitchOracle
      @RiverWitchOracle Před 2 měsíci

      It's my only option too, but it's fine if you fall lucky. Good luck and please do give me a shout if you need any advice or help.

    unless you have to live in a camper van for necessity, it would be a bad idea. having the ability to go to nice places would be pointless if you miserable from being uncomfortable. camper vans would be ok for a weekend but would be a pain full time.

    • @workinprogresssince1974
      @workinprogresssince1974  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @GM-fg3bi Před 2 měsíci

      @@workinprogresssince1974 yes, I think it would be fun for a little while, as a choice decision. but I see some other channels where people are forced to live in vans with no choice and there looks like some bad aspects of that life too.

    sorry if i missed it, does the UK not have mandatory retirement plans? just was wondering why you didnt have already some retirement money. in Australia all employers must pay superannuation as we call it.

    • @workinprogresssince1974
      @workinprogresssince1974  Před 2 měsíci +1

      They recently (as in a few years ago) introduced opt out workplace pensions so it's not even mandatory, but not everyone offers it and if you are self employed you have to set up your own private pension. Millions of people who won't get the full state pension and have no other provision are probably going to starve to death. We have a very lax attitude towards retirement in this country.
