    90% agree with you, the part I disagree with you on is the part where they don't listen, they listen 100% of the time. You see, the British public are for the most part: selfish, lazy and politically stupid. 40%+ can't even get up off their lazy butt to put an X on a piece of paper, I think most don't realise just how fragile having the right to vote actually is, was only just over a century ago when women died trying to get the right to vote for themselves that the working man got his rights introduced on the back of it, and now they throw that back in the faces of those brave women, because I can tell you with 100% certainty, a rich person always votes. Then you got the 60% that do vote: 90% of that 60% vote for the liars because they are too selfish and self centred to vote for what is right. Lets say for example: I put a party together next week, I present all the current figures, what's available to spend, what is needed to build up public services just back to basic standards, the deficit between the two, 100% transparency, the second I say the only way to meet that spending gap is to raise this this and that, not one person will be interested in voting for me. The British public don't want to hear the truth, they want to be told what they want to hear. Now, if the lazy non voters actually got off their lazy butts and showed they would be willing to vote, even if at elections they just picked an independent or whichever party normally gets the lowest votes, that would give the other 10% of that 60% an incentive to start something new because they would know it would be worth the huge cost and time needed to start a new party with full transparency, honesty, respect, but until that happens nothing is ever going to change. The British people by their own selfish and lazy actions are doomed to forever vote in who they hope is going to hurt them slightly less each time till at such point most of us get our right to vote taken away from us again. And on that note: I truly wish you all the best for the future, hope life treats you well. :)

    Every time people stop complaining and take action in the real world, they end up in prison (been a few high profile cases in recent years). I'm talking about normal decent people, simply trying to raise attention but managing to successfully achieve a result. The system just crushes them into pieces as a deterent to all the others thinking of making a difference. Also there is a mental illness where as a nation, we leave our borders wide open and allow immigrants to just walk in, even as they attack us to get in. Go back in history and we would have deployed troops to the border to launch a brutal attack, stopping anyone getting in and leaving them to drown etc. People will not do anything meaningful until its too late, usually when their comforts have all been removed from them. The last man who successfully turned around the same situation, had the banking elites turn the rest of Europe and USA on him.

    But Claudia the political system you described is how societies maintain the status quo. Institutions and processes are so well embedded any notion that things could be done differently with different outcomes, are completely unthinkable to the vast majority of people. Better the devil they know! Generally speaking most societies and their populations are politically illiterate and the majority are content with their ignorance, so long as their lives are largely left untouched. imho some of those drip feeds don't pay the best rates. If you have the Halifax one, you can deposit £250 max a month, but after a year (paying in a max of £3000) you only get interest of £82. It's best to put the full £3000 (if you have it all available initially) into a 5.5% paying account for the whole year where you would get double the amount of interest.

    • @workinprogresssince1974
      @workinprogresssince1974 Před 2 dny

      Yes, but there's nothing else out there. I'm maxed out on what's available to me at the moment. I am taking what I can with fixed rates before interest potentially drops in September. At least I will still get those interest rates if things change. Leaving that money sitting around in a 4.90% easy access account for the next year really isn't better and I don't have those sorts of big chunks of cash to lock away for a year right now. I'm getting low on easy access funds. Drip feeding gives me protection and I can stop the payments if I run into financial issues. I'm playing it cautious because I don't want to lock all the money away and then find I have nothing to cover me if something should happen.

    I respect your frugal lifestyle, Unfortunately you can’t be frugal when you own a phone, from the respect of important updates inc Security from scammers, also you don’t get a new operating system update every year, once your devices reach 6 or 7 years old, they become obsolete for updates.

    • @workinprogresssince1974
      @workinprogresssince1974 Před 2 dny

      I think they become obsolete for software updates after a couple of years - at least in my experience. I don't buy the phones new in the first place. I've never had a problem with security or scammers and I've been buying my phones out of date for quite a few years now.

    You’ve done really well for the first half of the year but and it’s a big but if you hadn’t received your universal credit you’d actually have a shortfall. How are you going to manage moving forward? Even though you are living a frugal lifestyle you will not be making ends meet without universal credit. Maybe you will be entitled to continue claiming universal credit after this current claim/situation ends??

      My UC claim will end in August and as far as I am aware I will not be put onto regular UC. I am fine for the rest of this year based on the projections for my income streams. 2025 is another story and I do need to find more work to fill the gap which I can see on my spreadsheet projections. I am working on a few things so hopefully I can turn things around (well I have to!).

  • @oneviewcornwall8200

    WOW Claudia, I just viewed your book in your Etsy shop WOW, WOW I am SO impressed - and what a fascinating biography story no doubt and that you're related - I'd be fascinated to hear about how you went about researching your book how long it took and the epic writing process if you might ever consider some CZcams videos about that. Well done. It deserves to do well, one could almost see it turned into a film😊🌿

      I did start writing a film script for it once, but I don't think it would get anywhere so I shelved it as a hobby project. I hugely enjoyed the research experience. If you go to my WordPress site for the project in my description notes you can get some background into the research that was involved which included spending days in museums and book and document repositories including the British Library, the Bodleian Library and even in the archives in Venice in Italy! I loved it so much but it took up most of my life for a while! :)

    Yup, I have to wonder if they can be as incompetent as they pretend or if they are asked to be awkward In 2-3 weeks into a forced transitions from tax credit to UC, I am recording every single step. Let me give you a journal example. I state my disabilities and limitations in the journal, to make sure I'm clear in disclosing my needs as i asked to under the these abilities act. very next message, they have disregarded what i have said and asked me to do something I can not. Problem for their team is: if they fail to provide me a service due to limitations arsing from my disabilities, and i have notified them in advance. The cleck is liable, yes the jobs worth dealing with my claim can be out of pocket. Told them this has been noted, and doctor informed. I'm in a position where I know the law and am disabled (so may be different yo your situation), hope to use this to hold more of these people to account. (currently in a case with HMRC who have admitted fault and failing) Its not just the DWP. seems to be an issue within the civil service. And you are right, they do not care, they are not doing the job they are put in out of passion, but because it where they where put. AS they don't care, i want to use what i have to hand to make sure the person in the office does care, cause if they mess up (and my case is different) under law, i will come for their pocket. These office workers pick the job they do, make a wages, and ruin peoples lives and mental states. They can blame the systems all the want, but at the end of the day, they are still in that office, being part of the problem and drawing their wages of the misery of others. (no respect for any of them) (struggle with language, hope that make some sense)

    You are correct that it is hateful people wanting to destroy everything they can, but it's not like that in every country. Japan's culture has a very high standard of respect for people and property, and the public won't tolerate any bad behavior, let alone the authorities. Singapore and Malaysia have zero tolerance for the most minor breaches of rules. Western countries allow chaos and lawlessness. Some nations showed strength and resolve, while others just gave up and allowed it to fall apart.

    The price of fruit, veg and wheat etc will possibly sky rocket, due to the terrible crop yields for 2024 affected by the weather. Whatever older stock they have in the warehouses, will be priced higher to cover this.
