To let anyone who cant or doesn't want to buy these products. Magic erasers work wonders, they clean the bottom thick part of the vans incredibly. Hope that helps : )

Great video except for one part, don't leave them in the sun. Put them in front of a fan or something instead, the sun will turn them yellow and sometimes even shrink them
Ya right , what you can do is cover the shoes with toilet paper
I learned this The hard way. Any chance you have a remedy that removes the sun stain?

Just use Dawn dish detergent, water, and a small brush. Also, won’t make fabric turn yellow.
Awesome vid! I always but them in the washer and they came out fine but this vid shows a better way to do them
Good Video - but I was able to accomplish the same thing with a lot less mess by filling the washing machine with hot water and detergent, getting a few different brushes, donning an apron, and went to work. No spatter that wasn't contained, then ran them over to the sink to rinse. Put them on a towel, ran the box fan on them all night, and they were ready the next morning. This works really well. Laces - bowl of detergent water first, dump that out and use the same bowl with watered bleach (dunk them in for a minute and then rinse). Lay on towel with shoes in front of the fan.
Def need to try this. My white slip ons have a few stories to tell.

I got my old white leather vans pretty dirty. I'm gonna try this method on them and I'm guessing it'll come off easier since they are leather and not canvas. thanks for the tutorial :)

Is stain remover equivalent to like zonrox? You didn't include that in the materials mentioned in the first part of the vid
I used this method, and it turned my shoes yellow. It's all patchy too so it's very noticeable. I didn't put them in the sun because many comments were saying it could turn them yellow or make them shrink. The only thing I can think it that when I first got my vans, I sprayed it down with some of the Vans stain repellant stuff (I can't remeber the name), and I guess the detergent water reacted with it. Nothing is getting the yellow patches off so it kind of ruined my shoes. :') hope this saves someone
EDIT** It turns out the magic eraser is what turned it yellow.
Gonna try this on my high tops later, they’re BLACK. But they used to be shiny white, and I haven’t been able to wear them in a year bc they’re so nasty looking 😂
Get toilet paper and wet it and cover the sneakers with the wet toilet paper leave on till it's perfectly dry and then take off and the yellow will be gone
I’m real late to this party but I would like to note that I cleaned my vans with spray n wash only with scrub brushes and they turned yellow only at the toes.. I think it had more to do with where the stains settle the most. Gonna try baking soda and let sit for a while to see if that helps

Yo my dudes! I have these same sneakers and I made a fatal mistake today:
Turns out if you use a Tide stick (which works decent on its own) in combination with Rit whitener (a detergent additive), the combination of the chemicals will create a gnarly yellow stain wherever you applied the Tide stick. So just be careful when using different types of chemicals, and its probably just good practice in general to not use multiple or mix multiple chemicals at the same time. Enjoy your clean sneakers... for now! I hope you have a day as beautiful as you are!
I have read too that leaving them in the sun causes them to turn yellow? I did do that but only the areas where I used the Tide stick turned yellow so I really cant speak to that in the affirmative or the negative.

It's because you used chlorine bleach and then left them in UV or the sun
Chlorine bleach will turn yellow if its still present and UV light hits it
To avoid this in future put the shoes in the washing machine after with normal laundry detergent that doesn't contain bleach, put them in a pillow case and then dry them somewhere in your house where sunlight doesn't reach
You can probably get the yellowing off by washing them in chlorine bleach again and then doing the above
Or you can dry to leave them in bleach overnight in the bath or a washing up bowl

You can clean them when they are dirty with any soap
But i stained them at a grill with coal dust. I can get that yellow stain from them with vanish and all the products ii find at the market,even after 4-5 washes..
My method is to either just keep them in rotation and be careful, or just use the stuff out of it and cop a new pair

Use a sock to stuff shoe to get wrinkles out not ink newspaper also should clean the midsole first so that dirt don't get on the clean fabric of shoe.

I got the vans one, sprayed 3 coats, and it did nothing. The stain got through the first time I spilled something on em
I’d like to wear white shoes but they are such a high maintenance footwear lol. I got mine and didn’t wear it for months and then the day I wore em they got little smudges of dirt already. So yeah... so much for that lol. And it’s not the type of sneakers that clean easily, it’s kinda like the same fabric or material as the shoes in the video. And here I am now looking for ways to clean em 😂

I liked this video because you didn’t use bleach. Just scrubbing, water and detergent. I know some other comments talked about watered (down) bleach but I can’t really use bleach for my white sk-8 hi’s because my stepmom has a horrific bleach allergy. Super sensitive. It’s why I don’t have many white shirts or socks and neither does my dad. Whites get done once a month in the house (I still live at home) and it’s a big deal.
The thing is my Vans are fuzzy and when I get them in water they get ruend

Is it suede? There is a separate cleaning routine for that. These are more cloth
