@@nayyarrashid4661I'm assuming they mean like their whole combat style. Like if you could get in their fighting posture, and do the things they do specifically. And not like just go invisbile basically.
@@day7163 They are humanoid not humans. Their fighting stance is most likely natural for them. Player character can use one of their moves but I don't think from soft is ever going to bring something that entirely unique to a character because of what he is.

Yeah… if he betrayed Selvus then it was likely justified. Blaidd didn’t like Selvus though so who knows? So much about this game could use a prequel or complete sequel.
@@ghost101049Might've been purely business if it was Selvus, so whether he liked him or not still did it. Tho he was a good bit passionate about killing him, so idk. But i guess you could also argue in this hypothetical that he disliked Darriwil more, or his betraying actions were ethically horrific.
He betrayed ranni, but in his mind ranni had died (physically) so he was free but then he was marked as a traitor for not returning to rannis service when the doll version of her came to life

Fun fact: the helmet worn by Bloodhound Knights is literally called a "Houndskull" bascinet

The reason Darriwil was considered a "traitor" is because Ranni's doll doesn't smell like Ranni, whose body was burned and discarded. He wasn't disloyal so much as misled by scent.
I use the hound ash, i try to be a lord worthy of my hounds loyalty

Bloodhound fang weapon is the weapon that saved my ass from so many moments and beat so many bosses. I can not use it knowing how good it is .

I figured due to the way their legs bend (look at their calves, they curve in a weird way) they're probably some sort of canine humanoid, but we don't see anything like that besides the Shadows and (sort of) beastmen.

This is late but if you look at their concept art and their cape they are dog like creatures hence the name bloodhound knights and Stray another name given by them. If you clip their model it will probably be a black no face but that is because it’s just a place holder that you aren’t meant to see.

A pretty cool historical reference with them is that they wear medieval hounskull ( hound skull ) helmets which is pretty fitting

My Dexterity build/character is basically a Bloodhound Knight that serves the Haligtree and Miquella. Blade of Elphael is the name. I use the Bloodhound Knight Armor, Gauntlets, and Nox Greaves, no helm.

Love the bloodhound fang. Its special move/skill is so cool and deals bloodloss. And that follow-up move that allows you to disappear whilst dashing towards your enemy is just super fire. Only bad thing about it is it requires somber stones to upgrade. Great weapon to wield though once you’ve upgraded it a few times.

The helmet is an actual helmet that exists called the bascinet. The the visor on the helmet the blood hound knights wear on the helmet is fittingly called the hound skull visor. It is called that because the design resembles that of a dogs snout
I wish that the hound skull helmet had chainmail on them like the real ones.
Their claws are my favourite weapon. I pretty much beat NG+ with it.

Madman a lore guy said they may be related to Demi humans, they have similar markings on their armor as what could be found on tougher Demi humans as like tattoos, they move similarly, moving beast like quickly. He goes on to wonder if maybe bloodhound knights were maybe some kind of trade between carian family (because bloodhound knights seem to really only be found near places related to caria) and Demi human queens in return for giving them magic maybe she gave some of her tougher children to be turned into bloodhound knights. Makes me want to play as a demihuman slave knight it sounds like a cool story. The Demi human slave knight who becomes elden Lord you know?

I always assumed all the Bloodhound Knights were just like Blaidd basically.
What I wanna know is if Maliketh is a clergymen for an entirely different religion, how is he also Marika’s half-brother? 😵💫
Blaidd and Bloodhound Knights have no similarities save for the loose canine theme (which is even arguable, because the only canine thing Blaidd does is howl).
Maliketh is both a clergyman and Marika's half-brother (or shadow) because the Two Fingers chose him as such. The religion Maliketh hails from is still Elden, just older.
Both Blaidd and Maliketh are empyrian shadows, they were born/created by the 2 fingers to serve the empyrians as glorified bodyguards.
I think bloodhound knights are most likely demihumans who traveled in look for worthy masters to serve. This would explain their beast-like behavior and movements.

I kind of imagine the Bloodhound model themselves off of the shadows like Blaidd and Maliketh. Finding a single worthy master to bind themselves to. Would also explain why Blaidd hunted down a treacherous one.

I love using the bloodhound curved great sword.
Its special attack really has gotten nme kut of a pickle.

Missed opportunity to have Gideon hire them so you have random encounters with one tracking you. And upon defeat he retreats until a final showdown. Would have been awesome given their lore as unshakable trackers. Imagine loading into a grave and once you leave being charged at by a really strong one. Would be sick to also just see him tracking you here and there without engaging at times

I would love Elden Ring more if your allies take a more active role in your quest. Like rather than Bloodbound Spirit Ash, you could actually get one to swear itself to you.
More quests with Blaidd. More time with Ranni. Helping stabilize Stormveil. Helping Selen with the University.
People do swear their loyalty to you...but it ends up being just words. It feels sad going it alone when youve got so much support behind you.

I was surprised that the bloodhound curved sword wasn't nerfed when I come back recently to do another playthrough on stream. There is so many scenarios that it allows you to hit and not get hit at least in pve.

I kicked around the idea that the knights are actually beastmen of some sort, since the breastplate and helmet would be accommodating to a deep chest and snout.

I always felt like bloodknight flohs description hints that the reason we can summon him as a spirit ash is due to him choosing the tarnished as his true king. But could just be me reading into things.

I love the theory that Darriwil is the assassin who created the Black Wolf Mask and used it to try to assassinate Ranni.
Perhaps Darriwil isn't truly a traitor, that he was like the Tarnished and once called Blaidd a friend. But his true master wished to slay Ranni, and Darriwil had no choice but to dance to their tune. Two friends brought against eachother by circumstance. Perhaps Blaidd's 'fitting end' for Darriwil was not out of disgust, but out of mercy, rotting in a cell is no fitting end for an old friend.
They seem to be Blaidd's fanclub like Abyss Watchers are Artorias' fanclub. Like, superloyal, big swords and berserk-reference combat, canine imagery...

My theory is that Darriwill did not really "betray" ranni. He is sworn to her but after she discarded her old body and became a blue doll then Darriwill no longer recognised her as her old master hence technically a betrayal.

The manga explanation on why Darrawil was marked as a traitor is canon to me.
its never explained WHAT bloodhound knights are, are they human? their features indicate they aren't as they have abnormally long limbs and run on all fours like a beast which makes me think they may be more akin to malikieth or blaidd, like sort of a beastman type entity.
Even though everything else about them is pretty much fantasy it’s nice to see a hounskull helm in a FromSoft game
