@bob wach I dont think you know what happened with this plane lol. Boeing sued bombardeir and got our puppet of a government to impose a 300% import tax. Airbus then came in and said we will build the plane in our American facility to go around the import tax so now the plane is a viable option for airlines to purchase. IMO the bombardier management and family of idiots did well to recover from Boeing/US GOVT's dirty tactics.
The plane is a proudly Canadian designed and produced aircraft. Well, that's a very optimistic prediction 'texasabbott', because those things are not only about engineering prowess, but also about business acumen and so on. Have you noticed, that Bombardier needed to sell a perfectly competitive product to Airbus, due to the threat of litigation coming from the US? Strangely the whole threat quieted down now, that the plane transferred under the umbrella of Airbus. Definitely worth that 4AM wake up call, especially with that reception beforehand. Great video, always great to get a different viewpoint on the same aircraft (flight). Still can’t get over the size of those windows. As always, amazing video

I am so excited to fly on Delta's A220. I have been so excited from the time when I read an article talking about Delta ordering A220s, it is a beautiful aircraft
For a regional jet, Delta adding personal video screens at each seat was a huge plus, also the “extra wide” economy seats is almost unique (again for a regional jet). Delta has impressed me once again and continues to be my favorite US airline!
Don;t you mean 'regional flight'? The A220 is easily capable of Europe -> East Coast USA flights. so hardly a 'regional jet'. Many air journeys within the US are now flown by (more efficient) turboprop aircraft. What would you call those?
It was nice to meet you and chat during the flight. Video looks really good for how quickly you got it posted. You were working hard the whole flight. Hopefully I'll be able to book that Domestic A350 to SeaTac.
It's a full widebody experience on a narrow body form factor. Large lockers, windows, seat width, toilets and aisles. This is unique, compare this to a larger 737-MAX and you'll see the difference between now and 1967.

Past Jeb; Future Jeb...You crack me up, Jeb! Love it!! This was a great trip report, as usual, from you. I can’t wait to fly on an A220. What I wouldn’t give to be at an event like this...no matter how early. 😊
I’ve been the pilot in command of inaugural flights before. Specifically, new T-6 Texan II’s from the Raytheon factory in Wichita with zero hours in the logbook back when I was an instructor pilot at Air Force JSUPT. I also flew the second flight ever for one of my civilian company’s Boeing 747-8’s. And interestingly, that airplane rolled out of the factory 24 hours late which caused me to fly it 24 hours after I was originally scheduled to. This delay caused a chain reaction that forced me to miss my aerial refueling checkride with my squadron.
As a retired Flight Attendant, FAA certified on Lockheed L1011, B747-100/200/SP B767-200 B757-200 B727-100/200, DC9-30 to MD80 I've never seen so much hype about flying inside a sardine can :-)
So happy you dropped this video, I wasn’t sure if you were going to do this flight but am so happy you did!!! Just another Great Delta Inaugural Flight report from Mr. Brooks 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😎
The A220 is a beautiful bird. Reminds me of a slender Dreamliner (and yes, that is a good thing) with ant-vortex wing tips. Kudos to the design engineers at Bombardier.
My wife and I booked the original inaugural A220 from LGA-DFW. There was an FAA delay in completing the certification for this aircraft type so we missed what appears to have been a great experience. I at least feel like I was on the inaugural DL A220 from your video. Great job, Jeb!
The A220 is a legitimate threat to Boeing’s dated 1967 737. The current and stretch version of the A200 will be the new benchmark for short and medium range aircraft.
I am not completely sure they will. The 737 among others has really morphed into a jack of all trades. Especially since the 757s were discontinued and are starting to age out
I just flew on the A220 July 25th to Dallas from LaGuardia. Very nice flight. I had economy seats row 22 and they were the most comfortable seats I ever had on a single aisle aircraft. Had the A220 on the return flight, row20. My second positive experience with Delta.
Another great video, Jeb! I have to admit, I'm extremely jealous! I was very, very tempted to fly all the way to LGA this weekend JUST to fly to DFW on the A220. I have become a big fan of the MD-88 and 717 as narrow-body jets, and the A220 looks like a similar plane, but improved and updated. I can't wait to fly in one!
Delta, Air Baltic and Swiss are rooting for the A220. Air Baltic CEO Martin Gauss said "Nothing able to compete" with this aircraft. Moxy and JetBlue ordered 60 each, and late April, Southwest is taking a closer look at the A220-300!
I got to TRAIN on this aircraft for ramp work, and I WAS FLOORED! It's gorgeous!! I didn't fly on it, so jealous of you, BUT I have to say I GOT LUCKY to play with the FIRST one owned by Delta! I got a chance to open the main boarding door, to check out the lav, to check out the seat! IT WAS WONDERFUL, and VERY quiet from below-wing. It is really remarkable. This plane may be the one thing I miss from Delta. I'm movin on up (from being a contractor) and looking at bigger things. That plane will be one of my favorite things though!!
Such a gorgeous looking piece of engineering inside and out! Kudos to Bombardier and Airbus!! It will sell like hot cakes to numerous airlines around the globe!!!
You need to do a review on Delta A220 Y class (standard seats). Not everybody flies Business/First Class. I was surprise by your comment about 'a loud' cabin. Most people who have traveled on a A220 have said the cabin is quieter than the A320/A321ceo's and B737's.
@@GreenerGrass - Thanks for the info. Airbus has a new market and no competition in the 3+2 seat regional to short international market versatility of the A220 as Boeing never replaced the B717. The A220 is in essence the B717 and lessor extend the BAE146 replacement.
The economy class is comfy as well. I work the ramp in DFW and we got to check out the planes during the test flights that were mentioned in the video. I sat in the most cramped looking row I could see and had plenty of room for my legs and body. And I'm about 5'11" and 230lbs It's an excellent plane! Only thing I don't like it like about it is at the 6:10 point of the video. When the plane moves from a stop it sounds like a whale being shanked by Poseidon's Triton lol
I was on the inaugural Brussels Airlines (opb Cityjet) flight from Birmingham (BHX) to Brussels (BRU). Love the ‘smaller’ regional aircraft such as the SSJ-100-95 and the A220
Man. In flight entertainment on such small aircraft and on such a small route, even in the economy seats. What a luxury. That's something you'll never find in Europe. And I'm saying this with me taking a flight with Air Cairo in a few days on one of their A320's from Copenhagen to Sharm El Sheik. A trip around the same length as the one here.
That plane’s interior looks insanely nice. Everyone’s always complaining about how planes are so awful and cramped these days but it’s really not true and we’re advancing in that respect. I hope you enjoyed that experience Jeb as much as I enjoy your trip reports, keep them coming. And a question: they won’t usually be using it on the New York to Dallas route will they? It just seems like too high demand to use a small ish plane like that but I could be wrong.
Joshua V you forget the fact that dfw is actually an AA hub. Delta has to compete with American shuttling massive amounts of people on this route to onward connections. They use the big planes and can sell a cheeper Economy seat. Delta on the other hand sells this route to the bushiness community and there own medallions that prefer to always fly delta, more of a luxury route if you will, local route for New Yorkers. Delta will send it’s traffic on the big planes you talk about through atl and other more major hubs
I was in northern Toronto near where they were testing these a few years ago, and a couple times I saw them flying overhead. I was absolutely amazed at how quiet they were, I had no idea that it was even possible to make a plane that quiet. You really have to experience it in person to understand, it is absolutely astounding.
Love a 2-3 configuration! Great when traveling with the wife and you do not want a middle seat! Nice and cold this morning in DFW enjoy your time here.
Fantastic Video! Can’t wait for American and United’s A220! What was your favorite part of this flight? Also, doesn’t the A220/C Series look like a miniature 787? Just me?
Can you please call it the Bombardier A220? Just hoping if you could bring the Canadian spirit since it had to go through so much we can’t forget about the cs100.
I never been on a inaugural flight before, but back in the 90's my Dad flew on United's inaugural 777 flight from I believe Denver to Chicago which is pretty cool.
Well documented and very entertaining (as usual) Jeb! BTW, I think there needs to be more banter between "past Jeb" and "future Jeb" in future videos. Haha!
I am sure Boeing was ecstatic about this one, after trying to sue then Bombardier, now AirBus. I am glad it all backfired in their face. It looks like a winner.👍
The CSeries could have been bought by Boeing as its Y1, with 12 years of world-beating research and design done for them by Bombardier engineers. Instead, Boeing bet the farm on a plane from 1967, and lost the entire MAX7 market to the CS300/A220-300: www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-06/westjet-cools-on-smallest-boeing-737-max-as-ceo-rethinks-fleet
Both the 737 and A220/CSeries are twinjets. Filling the plane up isn't going to be problematic since fuel costs are very minimal and capacity is only meant to maximize profits.
Although airbus is the main shareholder, Bombardier really made the aircraft from the ground up and I can’t wait to fly it someday. All the credit to them and making such an efficient aircraft opening many new possibilities for airlines.
I was lucky enough to fly on a Delta A220 2 years ago flying from SLC-SJC, it was an amazing flight. The A220 is such a pretty bird and I hope to ride it again one day
I'm willing to bet that's Delta's long term plan, looking at their order book. 90 A220s 35 A330-900neo's 100 A321neo's 25 A350s The only order the have from Boeing is 12 more 737-900s
Considering Boeing’s fallout with Delta which was never made up. I can picture Delta shifting all orders to Airbus which is a slap in the face for Boeing. Shifting from pure Boeing to eventually pure Airbus except for some left over 737/ and 767 in the end when all is completed

that must definitely be your own opinion
Delta, Air Baltic and Swiss are rooting for the A220. Air Baltic CEO Martin Gauss said "Nothing able to compete" with this aircraft. Moxy and JetBlue ordered 60 each, and late April, Southwest is taking a closer look at the A220-300!
The sound of the engines tho.... ITS PERFECT!!!👌
Great to see the -A220- C-Series in its true home of North America! Hope to fly on one of these beauties soon!
That's right. This is a C-Series, and the 717 is the MD-95!
You’re the majesty of AVGEEKS Jeb!
@@GreenerGrass The Swiss are generally more quiet than the Americans 😉
@@GreenerGrass - Thanks for the info. Airbus has a new market and no competition in the 3+2 seat regional to short international market versatility of the A220 as Boeing never replaced the B717. The A220 is in essence the B717 and lessor extend the BAE146 replacement.
The economy class is comfy as well. I work the ramp in DFW and we got to check out the planes during the test flights that were mentioned in the video. I sat in the most cramped looking row I could see and had plenty of room for my legs and body. And I'm about 5'11" and 230lbs
It's an excellent plane!
Love the ‘smaller’ regional aircraft such as the SSJ-100-95 and the A220
I was waiting to fly to Nashville when you landed.
Wow, fantastic video and fantastic plane. I can't wait to fly the A220. Thanks so much for posting!!
Does future Jeb ever get upset with past Jeb’s meal choices?
steveo1kinevo lol
Very cool! Glad I could come with you! 😁
Just me?
Yeah, the nose reminds me
The rest of the plane yeah but the windows for the cockpit looks like an a350
It looks like a 787 and a350 had a baby
Sam Holly it reminds me of an A350 plus a Boring A330 kind of
Compare the 787 cockpit and the A220 cockpit. They are almost the same!!! But the biggest difference is the yoke vs. the sidestick.
The A220-100 is the perfect replacement for deltas older A319-100’s and B717-200’s and those first class seats look amazing!!!
CSeries♥♥♥ Quebec engineering at it's best!
No actually Canadian engineering
@@davidkelly9817 Quebec is the Canadian province where Bombardier is from.
Ed M . QC...Quality Control, Making stuff with Love. Quebec Love!!
Nice Video. Delta knocked it out the park with the cabin, it looks incredible.
Can you please call it the Bombardier A220? Just hoping if you could bring the Canadian spirit since it had to go through so much we can’t forget about the cs100.
Bombardier themselves call it the Airbus A220, calling it otherwise puts Bombardier in legal issues
No we won't call it something that it isn't.
Bombardier built an amazing aircraft! The A220 is now my preferred itinerary
I live in fort worth. So excited,!!!!
Another great video! You have convinced me to put "fly on an inaugural flight" on my bucket list!
Very good flight! Appreciate it
I never been on a inaugural flight before, but back in the 90's my Dad flew on United's inaugural 777 flight from I believe Denver to Chicago which is pretty cool.
Canadian airplane...those who fly it say it is the best!
The only special Delta flight I've flown was the farewell tour of The Spirit of Delta 767-200 complete with a low, wheels up flyby!
Cool video I've always wanted to fly on delta
"It's a loo, with a view!" Jeb Brooks 2019 😂
I wish Embraer made an E-170 E2 😕. I think the A220 is a good airplane. Good video!!👍
Well documented and very entertaining (as usual) Jeb! BTW, I think there needs to be more banter between "past Jeb" and "future Jeb" in future videos. Haha!
Awesome!
@@lumberc hi
I especially love seeing all your amazing watches! Great taste and that Grand Seiko I saw in one of your videos recently was stunning.
I love the A220
Super video once again!! Keep it up buddy. I love seeing your notifications
Instead, Boeing bet the farm on a plane from 1967, and lost the entire MAX7 market to the CS300/A220-300:
www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-06/westjet-cools-on-smallest-boeing-737-max-as-ceo-rethinks-fleet
@@texasabbott It's because the 737 is a long-lasting and reliable design. It's why it sold over 13,000 units.
Both the 737 and A220/CSeries are twinjets. Filling the plane up isn't going to be problematic since fuel costs are very minimal and capacity is only meant to maximize profits.
@bob wach Haha, Boeing is killing people with their MAX 8.
bob wach calling other country’s pilots low skilled is just ignorant
Although airbus is the main shareholder, Bombardier really made the aircraft from the ground up and I can’t wait to fly it someday. All the credit to them and making such an efficient aircraft opening many new possibilities for airlines.
I have gone on an inaugural flight Ethiopian airline a350
I was lucky enough to fly on a Delta A220 2 years ago flying from SLC-SJC, it was an amazing flight. The A220 is such a pretty bird and I hope to ride it again one day
The Ultimate Airline fleet would be composed of A220’s, A321neo, A330neo and A350!
I'm willing to bet that's Delta's long term plan, looking at their order book.
90 A220s
35 A330-900neo's
100 A321neo's
25 A350s
The only order the have from Boeing is 12 more 737-900s
that’s what’s happening next year once the 100 a321neos come in to replace the older planes :(
Considering Boeing’s fallout with Delta which was never made up. I can picture Delta shifting all orders to Airbus which is a slap in the face for Boeing. Shifting from pure Boeing to eventually pure Airbus except for some left over 737/ and 767 in the end when all is completed
I love the A220. I also love your videos. Keep up the great work.
That's nice and all but can it do vertical landings like the 737MAX?
zedovski ! No worries mate, be happy!!
I work on the ramp for Delta and have to say I'm excited to see this when it comes to my airport.
James Me to I'm a Marshaller for Delta in Tampa.
A220: Cute Little Child
A318: 9-Year Old Child
A320: Starting Teenager
A320neo: Miserable Puberty Teenager
A330: That one 18 Year Old
A340: Retired-From-Job Adult
A350: That beautiful Mom
A380: Big Daddy
This A220 looks great! I was on a couple of Finnair's A350 familiarization flights in 2015, Helsinki-Gothenburg and Brussels. It was great to witness all the bustle around the first European A350 :)
I hope they replace some of the 717 or CRJ200 fleet flying out of GSO.
Very pleased that the A220 is finally flying in the states and would love to try a flight with Delta myself. Good work getting the video up so quickly.
Maide in quebec yes sir !
Nope. The US market ones are assembled at Airbus' Mobile Alabama plant.
7:52, lol I love your sense of humor. Just adds to the awesomeness of these videos
