Scandinavian Airlines A350 Inaugural First Flight

- Scandinavian Airlines recently launched a brand new airplane. The Scandinavian Airlines A350 represents some of the best the company has to offer. In this video, we'll explore the Copenhagen Airport, the Scandinavian Airlines A350 in Business Class and Economy, as well as all of the celebrations that accompanied the excitement surrounding the first day the Scandinavian Airlines A350 took to the skies.
As an aviation enthusiast, I'm not sure I enjoy anything quite as much as an inaugural flight and to have the chance to be one of the first to fly on Scandinavian Airlines' A350 was even more special since I had almost no experience with Scandinavian Airlines before this.

I’m happy Airbus made the A350 instead of making the A330-900 NEO their flagship. The A350 really is a modern aircraft.
Yes, the A350 just "looks the part" so much
a330neo is for airlines to save money if you have a330 in your fleets then no extra training is needed saving 100,000's possibly millions over training for a new a350 but im intrested which is more fule efficent
A330neo is intended to be the replacement of A330s with less re-training cost, while A350 is designed to replace long-haul A340s and older 777-200ERs.
Li Joseph I think A330 Neo is what original A350 should been... A350 XWB is completly new and old ”og” A350 is renamed to A330 Neo
but the 330 neo is also a beautiful aircraft
The A350 is such an awesome plane! I really liked how you showed the Economy cabin too.
I tracked this flight on Flightradar24!
Same here
hey stalker!
Me too!
I love the sound of those spooling up engines for take off: the sound of raw power!! This summer I’ll be flying Delta’s A350 in Delta One. Can’t wait!!!
The roar on sas’s a350 sounds like delta’s
For domestic service and USA to international destinations, Delta is the cats meow. 😀
I tried the Delta One suite on its A350, it was excellent, lots of privacy also.
@@tomato-v8x last year i did too. So good
I’m only 11, so I don’t have the money, but man you are lucky. I some reason want to fly on delta’s 777-200LR, delta somehow became my favorite airline after I found out they had more entertainment on the TV’s on the 767-300ER, which, was more than the American a330-300 I flew on, and some other plane, which I never found I out what plane it was. I wasn’t into aviation back then.

Flying and traveling was my passion, that’s why I worked for Singapore Airlines for almost 24 years. Had many great and memorable travels!
working for SQ must have been a Dream . The best in the world
claus stimpfig Thank you , Claus. It was my dream job. I worked in the administration office in Los Angeles and loved going to work everyday. I stayed late too! Make many wonderful people and I still stay in touch with many of them. We actually have an annual reunion at a local restaurant. We have one coming up in 2 weeks.
@@alvinohata4223 dear friend I do understand that so very very well. I used to be a T.W.A. flight attendant on their European Network. In our years we have been the hallmark of inflight Service BUT we Always watched carefully Singapore Airlines...In the ninties T.W.A. Standard of inflight Service became poor with no more first class...in 2001 we died
And you enjoy your reunion so much and Long live SINGAPORE AIRLINES...From Europe from hear to heart

That feeling when you come back from school and seeing a jeb brooks noti 😉
Finally a review from you about the SAS product! Happy to see you enjoyed your time onboard! I love your new layout and as always really enjoyed watching! Thanks for sharing with us, idk why but i was super excited while watching this, it was like i could feel your excitement through the screen and it affected me. Well done sir!
Thanks so much for watching! It was such a special flight!!
SAS rocks! One of the best european airlines

Dandmore I am Swedish too you dungus
@@dan-fy2ek Oh.
I travelled to the Faroe Islands with exact that atlantic airways plane. Really worth a trip, scenic approach and takeoff!
Nice to meet you on board, greetings from 1H.
You picked the "wrong" starter, the "Swedish Caviar" is something special and very rare, retail price is usually around 150$ per kg. The reindeer probably was nice as well though.
Even though the first row is an odd seat there is plenty of room there with extra wide legroom at the bulkhead, only drawback was my lack of views of the wing and engine.
Since I'm a beer guy, what did you think of the Ciel Blue blueberry beer? Saw you got the last bottle from the snack bar area short before last meal service.
Since I was on the return flight as well I can assure the seat is good for sleeping as well, I slept 5h without waking up even though there were a full meal service going on :)
Kalix löjrom starts at 350 dollars per Kg, but if you want better quality its around 1000usd per kilo! :)
@@elsajo mixed the prices in retail with what you can get it for "on other markets". Seems like it cost 3000SEK per kg on online stores, about 300$.
@@fredrikpalmqvist3808 Also depends on the harvest of the caviar too! :D Sorry if im getting too picky with the price, I have worked with the sales of that specific caviar so I hope my numbers are informative. Its truly an amazing product and if i ever fly sas business ill def go for that starter.
@@elsajo it get more and more expensive every year it seems. I'm happy it's served at SAS, always take it when I fly with them and try to plan flights when it's served.
@@fredrikpalmqvist3808 wow! Really cool. Im Still dreaming of going on a nice flight like that. One Day...
Great video again. I flew this route earlier in the year as well. Love the A350 great business class as always!
So fascinating Jeb.Brilliant video. This flight must had had more aviation bloggers than the simple passengers.Thrilling stuff
Inaugural flights are usually full of people like us...makes for a really fun atmosphere!
It’s nice to be on an inaugural flight. Seeing another transatlantic plane flying below you was cool!
Does anyone ever realize that when he says double click the thumbs down button, he wants us to take back the unlike
thank you eminem dr phil
yes we are not dumb
I already knew that.
@@EvanAviator Yeah Bentley anyone can figure that out 🙄
SAS is one of my bucket list ones, I love that more and more airlines are ordering the A350s!!
I can’t wait for more inaugural flights! Keep it up!
TTC Guy There great, i live in Copenhagen, and SAS is the best. we fly with Them to Chicago
Not the best. Fairly low budget airline for transatlantic flights. Economy on older planes not very good
@@jackyoung7518 not as bad as American carriers, service always really really suckssss, except Delta
This reminds me of my 5 hour flight on Singapore Airlines's A350 business class, actually super similar seating. I was tired as hell flying economy for the first segment overnight so I couldn't fully appreciate the second business leg, but I remember it was actually nice to sleep in unlike many other business classes on other airlines.
My favorite video of yours so far. As a Faroe Island native working at Copenhagen Airport, this report has a lot of interesting stuff. Actually, I was the Loading Supervisor on that exact Iraqi Airways turn-around (1:56). If I knew you were filming, I would have done something crazy 🤗
I hope you will do an Atlantic Airways (Faroe Islands) trip report soon. 🇫🇴
The new business class has a much wider footwell than the a bit older ones on 330s. Good! Looking forward to fly SAS again this summer
Lucky for you after a long time. First time flying SAS Scandinavian Airlines
Hi Jeb, congrats on flying the inaugural! The architecture in Copenhagen is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

Just saw this video. Sorry for my late reply. I first flew on SAS in 1956. From Boston to Copenhagen. Yup. Before jets. On a DC-7. A DC-7!. How many people have flown across the Atlantic on a prop plane? I was just a kid, but I remember sleeping on a fold-down cot for part of the flight. And being treated to a "spa" experience once we landed in Copenhagen. Amazing experience that I still vividly remember.
Boarded from the same gate when I flew with Singapore Airlines A350 from CPH to SIN last November! 😊
JEB--THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK U SO MUCH FOR AN INTERNATIONAL ESCAPE, EVEN W/OUT MY PASSPORT TODAY!!!!!!!!
GREAT review! Very unique choice of food, reindeer followed by venison, ive never heard of such a menu in the sky before. Well done Jeb! Andy
*OK, just for the record, I used to commute to work by air, and I am JEALOUS!*
*I was flying in the late 70s through late 80s - MD80/L1011 days. Over a million air miles in 1985, and again in 1987, and every one of those miles was in business or first class, yet my knees were always up against the seat in front of me (unless I could snag the very first row), and after 1986 or so, the "food" consisted of either peanuts or microwaved shoe leather (flights over 4 hours). Just **_seeing_** this has me in a jealous rage!*
We're about to fly to Stockholm on this exact 350, now we are very excited to go!!!
Great video Jeb. The A350 is sure to be a success with SAS. I’m learning from you as I make my CZcams trip reports. Thanks a lot Jeb!
You always make videos fun especially your expression on the provided headphones
What I love about Jeb, is his enthusiasm for aviation... Being a Oneworld emerald status flyer, it is always interesting to see what other airlines have to offer. Great video.
Great job!!
Hey Jeb, great video! I’ve been to the Faroes with Atlantic - highly recommended! And they use helicopters over there like taxis between the islands - heavily subsidised so super cheap! Some kids go to SCHOOL by helicopter. So, HIGHLY recommend it, especially Mykines island - like nowhere else on the planet!
I Love the A350. Flew on it between Johannes burg and Doha on my trip to France last year. Took a 787 from London to Doha. Like the A350 better.
Glad you enjoyed it, Jeb. It’s now grounded, and SAS announced this afternoon that they’re sending 10,000 employees on indefinite unpaid leave (that’s 90% of their staff) with immediate effect, and slashing their routes to a bare minimum. People are staying at home because of the virus and SAS have been hit hard, sadly😳👎🏻✈️
I’ve flown on a SAS a350 two ways from Stockholm to Miami and back to Stockholm !
Awesome to see you in our capital and flying with Scandinavian. Hope to see you in Scandinavia again! (Have watched all your videos - they're just awesome)
Damn, that's a fast taxi and takeoff
I was just watching another of your video then I got the notification, keep up the good work!
will be flying on a a350 from Copenhagen to Boston in exactly a month. First time being on a plane with a tail camera so I am going to watch a lot of that myself!
Especially during take-off and landing
Love this little adventure and hope to emulate it One day.
I’m flying on The British airways first class on the 747 from London to Seattle I can’t wait
and this will be some much better
Tail mounted cam is amazing
I’ve never clicked on a video faster!
I have been to Faroe Islands and very much enjoyed Atlantic Airways.

great quality as always, started watching a month or so ago, watched dozens of videos and not a single one has disappointed. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! You’re very kind...and haven’t seen some of my older videos yet...because they’re very likely to disappoint. 🤣 I’ve learned a lot since starting this channel!
@@GreenerGrass I'm working my way backwards right now... Should I stop at a certain point? 😂
I'm sure they'll be good lol, maybe the delivery won't quite be there, or camera work, but I'm sure the personality will be! That's the best part
Jeb's aviation videos are the best, but for some strange reason I'm oddly disappointed when he actually likes the headphones provided by the airlines. Something's just not right about that... ;-)
Your video has been added to my aviation interests library. You've done a brilliant job and so has your HD camera. I love this plane. It's my favorite Airbus ever. The SAS is livery is amazingly futuristic; especially on this jet. Although i don't live in Pakistan, I saw it's photographs at Islamabad airport when it landed for a repatriation flight.
Simply wow !! Keep it up. Your presentation is awesome 👍
Awesome video like always! The A350 is a gorgeous aircraft.
First I want to thank you for your amazing videos. You have a very pleasant narrating voice. I felt though you didn't explore SAS's fabulous inflight catering. The new Bar program with artisan cocktails prepared by a famous Bar in Stockholm, bottled and then served onboard in beautiful glassware by Orrefors. All the liquor onboard is by Scandinavian producers. Have you ever tried gin from Norway, or whiskey from Sweden? The huge beer selection by Danish Mikkeller is produced especially for the airline. SAS always serves Swedish Caviar onboard. A delicacy almost on par with Russian Caviar in my humble opinion. SAS has also mastered the art of reheating fish onboard. A hard task to pull off. In fact, frequent travelers lovingly call SAS for: Salmon Always Salmon! Their wonderful cheese and dessert cart was also missing from your review. Keep up the good work Mr. Brooks!
Great review and your enthusiasm shines through thanks
I have been watching your videos from a long time and I love it
Nice Jeb! Cool seeing the Iraqi airways A320! Not a common sight! Those views over Greenland were stunning!
Regarding the cocktail meny, if no one has mentioned this already, "Tjoget", (aside from being a really nice bar which I live a block away from in Hornstull) is the definite form of "Tjog". This is an old Swedish measuring unit meaning 20. Other examples are "Dussin" (12) which times twelve makes a "Gross" (144). The bar is part of the restaurant "Linje 10" (Line Ten) which was a (now defunct) tram line that passed Hornstull. The name "Tjoget" is a historic reference to an old 'Beer Café' (a simpler form of restaurant) in Hornstull which closed in 1994.
Love your enthusiasm it clearly showns
YES GO SCANDINAVIAN!! I ALSO FLEW ON THAT A350 THAT DAY!
Jeb - you have to sit on the left side flying into Chicago to get that amazing view of Downtown coming from the East!
are you ever impressed by the headphones given tho
That would be a ... NEVER. LMAO 😂
I think he liked the one on the first class of Qatar or Emirates.
Ranking of ways to board a plane:
1. Glass jet bridge (best by far)
2. Air stairs or ramp. Basically anything outside the main building. Please no snow, rain, etc...
3. Normal jet bridge (cough cough every single jet bridge in the US).
Those A350 wingtips are the most beautiful thing in aviation since the Spitfire Supermarine.
A350 is such a beaut!
I love your reviews, and finally SAS. I don't fly much, but living where I do I don't have many other choices. My only flight next year will be to the US, and I made sure to book the 350, I'm also hoping to be able to upgrade my seat through the SAS bidding system (I don't fly enough to have bonuses to trade for upgrades).
Jeb is the Gordon Ramsay of flight reviews. Quite harsh but sometimes unfortunately true. Keep up the good work, I love your videos!
Jeb, Faeroe Islands is amazing. You should go. I lived there for a few months. Great place for solitude.
last year we flew sas round trip ewr to Bergen and back from Copenhagen. the food in the lounges was breakfast mainly, at least you had salad to choose from. the service on the plane you would give a 5 too, and food about 4. seats were excellent.
i swear you will never like airplane headphones, there is just no pleasing some :) Anyways love the video as always
I’ve liked headphones in several of my videos...guess finding those is kind of like coming across Easter Eggs! 🤣
Jeb massive fan from Adelaide, Australia!! Come back!
Great video Jeb. You should check out a Hurtigruten cruise in Norway. You'd love it.
What a sight the A350 is!
AVIATION is just so awsome
Great review Jeb...Flew the A330 from Stockholm to Newark on SAS 2 yrs ago, so I’ll be looking forward to the A350.
Faroe Islands are amazing...but the most fun way to get there for a traveler is the ferry either from Iceland or Denmark...maybe a ferry trip report in your future lol?...reindeer is delicious like most venison
Wow? This is pretty close to SWISS 1st Class!!
The shaky footage was fine your videos combined are amazing keep up the great work
Thought it was you I saw in Copenhagen - I also had a flight on the inaugural flight day, but it was back home to Greenland with their old A330 though. So I am looking forward to try SAS A350, in the near future.
Been to the faroe Islands, and can deffinately recommend a trip there. With reference to the reindeer, it is one of our main meats here in Greenland :D
I wish you’d said hello! Greenland is also on the list of places I’d like to visit!
Still - I wasn´t sure it was you, and you are allways welcome to visit here in Greenland
Well done SAS for your new A350 and first flight!
Thank you for this very interesting trip report. I really enjoyed my SAS A330 flights from Arlanda to Los Angeles and Newark to Arlanda last year. I have to say, SAS is a great performing airline because the crew is amazing and always friendly and happy to help. The seats are great in all SAS classes. Service is always a bit slow on SAS but that is totally fine for me. I was traveling in Economy Class back to Arlanda and the crew had problems with their purchasing system. You would expect that consuming alcoholic drinks which have to be purchased wouldn´t be possible then. Instead we got drinks for free - well that´s not really common. Unfortunately I couldn´t try the A350 yet but it is on my list on the very top.
“Even number seats are far more private than odd number seat, just like my seat, 7H...” 🤔
I think only people who have sight issues would not know what Jeb meant. Was this really worth a comment?
Andrew Watson Was the original comment really worth replying to?
henry hobson if the reply wasn’t worth replying was your reply really worth it?
Great video! I would say that Amsterdam is the cycling capital of the world though, haha!
I can't wait until SAS starts flying the A350-900 on the Newark to Copenhagen route!! I think they said that would be in March sometime. Those windows are HUGE!
We don't go to Newark.
It's way out in mosquito-infested Joizey.
Too many goombahs.

there's a new airline in sweden called flygbra, they've only done domestic flights so far but will start operating the embraer 190 internationally in late march.
its not new !
@@E_WANR not that new but i mean new to the airline industry, its getting much attention now. and also it was formed in 2016 so its new compared to other airlines

I really do love the city of Copenhagen ❤️❤️
You’ve got the life, Jeb! Awesome video as always.
Dad: why u cryin so damn loud

Hey Jeb, you should do inaugural flights with LOT to either San Francisco or DC from their hub in Warsaw. Would love to see how the 87-9 on LOT compares to the A350 on SAS
Leaving aside the airline-decided differences, such as seat pitch, you may find the 787 to be noisy after an A350 trip. Definitely noticeable. Was able to compare both last week. That said it may depend a bit on where you sit. Both of my seats were over the wing, port side, window seat: great for seeing the action.
Home sweet home. Love Stroget. Lookin forward for your videos!!!
Another great review. I'd also like to thank you for choosing whatever software you use now for comments during play. The yellow makes it easier to catch on top of the video. Keep up your entertaining vlogs.
Im Going on the sas a330 to Washingtons D.C. in spring
The video and audio is impressive also enjoying the editing quality!
I highly recommend watching Bjorn Pilot. he is flying the SAS A350 now and I think he was your pilot that flight
So glad to see SAS flying the A350! Love it! Can’t wait to fly the A350 from ORD-CPH someday! Inaugural flights are always epic!
I so want to book my ticket LAX-CPH for travel in August. I'm going to wait for the strike to be settled which is hopefully soon. Flew SAS to ARN in 2000 and they were great! I'm going to check out your channel. Happy and safe travels to you and Jeb!
