- The TAM 2IP in War Thunder is an Argentinian Light Tank. The TAM 2IP is also a Premium Vehicle in the German Tech Tree with one major advantage over the Standard Tech Tree TAM. It gets a 400mm pen round, the DM33!
The TAM 2IP Light Tank is a pretty mobile platform that can keep up with most MBT's at its BR. A lot slower than its wheeled counterparts of the same BR like the Class 3 P, this vehicle boasts slightly more stability on the move.
The TAM 2IP has a laser range finder which now sets the distance for you making long range shots a simple two button press affair. No guesswork needed for range, just click your range find button on your nearest enemy and just pull the trigger! With the TAM 2IP DM33 it's more than likely going to die!
Overall the TAM 2IP is a great vehicle due to its gun and stabiliser but it's not quite quirky enough for my own tastes!

@@mauriciosanchez144 Yea it was upgraded to be able to hold the turret, the weight and the recoil of it. TAM VCTP is the one that is just a simplified Marder

IRL the TAM series were based on the German Marder hull with a 105mm turret. Since Argentina wasn’t facing the Soviet’s they could get away with using light tanks.

@@javierperalta7648 The TAM was designed before the Falklands war. And nobody wanted to fight the brits. We were under a military dictatorship.
@@javierperalta7648 actually, the TAM was created for a probable war with Chile during the 1970 for the Picton, Lennox and Nueva islands in the Beagle Channel, it's Light and has a 105mm cannon because Chile at the time was under a weapons embargo from the US, Austria and Germany, so they didn't have modern tanks

It's great to see someone having GENUINE fun in war thunder, those belly laughs are what I wish for when start a match myself
Those laughs come from having unlocked almost every Tank in the game and not worrying about maps! Takes years of War Thunder, thus is why we love Odd so much -- because he's reached a level of happiness in War Thunder that we all strive for.
It's an extreme state of Stockholm Syndrome.
Alright, this is what you do. Get the r3 and either the g55s, g55s1, or sm92. Absolutely blare GAS GAS GAS and just gun it towards the enemy. Get a couple kills from sideshots, get a cap, crits, etc. Spawn your plane and blare Deja Vu, yeet some bombs around, kill a plane or two. Return to hanger. Its about 10 games of pure ecstacy.
Bring some backups or a breda and tipo in case you get bodied and don't get your plane.
Tbh I get that from tanks like the Panzer IV H of all things. Using a presumably underwhelming 4.0 to standoff against 3 T-34-57's and a KV-1 and winning that engagement is just 🤌
But then you get sniped in your spawn from the enemy spawn by an Object and you run out of silverlions and cant repair.

a TAM with DM33, better turret traverse speed, more armor, and somehow the same weight all at 8.7. this thing is 9.0 material
Similar issue with Su-11 - superior to Su-9 in every flight characteristic, superior to any other 7.0.

It totally makes sense that premium improved in every way sits at the same BR as TAM. Same goes for Su-9 and Su-11 - Su-11 outperforms Su-9 and any other 7.0 by a mile, but again - no issue according to Gaijin. Pay2Win at its finest.
Still nice you give us an occasional top tier video. Some of us might spend a lot of time in those BRs.
From what I know In sim battles in top tier the range finder worked the same so they simply added it to RB which is interesting as we can see through this amazing video

You could rangefind with binos before too though. In fact you could do everything you did there before the update as well. Its just faster since you gotta set your range yourself now.
there's no way in hell i'm playing anything near 6.7 anymore with the laser rangefinders. Even 5.7 uptiered is sus.

My friend bought the tam as soon as it was out, after a few rounds he bought it for me. I think I had the most fun in WT with him in that tank in 3 days than the year I've been playing. I got around 500k research in 3 days with that tank and around 2m SL. I think I used around 30 backups and it's a blast.

The thing I could never stand is the optics. A problem with many vehicles in game, like the japanese ST-A1/2. High power optics with no variable zoom are cancer.
Originally it was supposed to be as good as the Leo 1 - AMX-30, I think a Polish magazine referred it once as "the Argentine Leopard". As far as I've been told, IRL the vehicle has frontal armor ranging from 40 to 60 mm, not 11 mm, and sides are 20 to 40 mm. Apparently it was just enough to bounce earlier APFDS due to the high angle (upper front plate). What's funny is that it does happen from time to time in game, you can bounce APHE and HEAT depending how they hit you.
Seen the TAM variants eat more shots than I can even care to count. No armor best armor for that thing.
