- we took this engel cooler and transformed it to match our boat. we used a little bit of redleg stencils and a little bit of our own... but altogether we made this look just like optifade marsh. hope this can help someone else.

Nice work, did you have any issues with the stencil smearing paint at all when you lay it on top of the previously painted portions? I’m about to paint my boat, but am nervous about if the stencil will smear the paint when I overlay it to get the random patterns

for just spray paint, its hard to beat the rustoleum camo.

I’m looking at doing a bottom lands on a cooler what kind of prep did you do to the cooler ?
Lightly sanded it and wiped it down with acetone. If I did it again I would use some adhesion promoter for plastics.

What did you do to prep cooler for paint?
Sanded it a little and wiped it with acetone. They sell an adhesion promoter for plastic which probably would have been best. But it’s holding up ok in light of the abuse it gets.

So was this done using red leg or your personal stencils?
A mixture of both. The red leg stencils are big. They could be cut but in their original state they are big and hard to use on small things. For big things like my boat, they were perfect.
