One safety tip, you are absolutely not supposed to hold the handle to "release" the locks when you raise the lift, that's your safety mechanism if something fails. You only need to hold the handle when lowering the lift!

I know this is a old video but what Is the height of your garage?
Can you post the different heights it can be adjusted to? I need a rack that can be set with around 53 to 54" clearance.

Buying ANY lift coz it's the cheapest is - to be blunt - insane... coz 9 times outta 10 there's a reason it's the cheapest...
This particular lift is an old design.. with no secondary slack cable locks. Very basic 'sliding' jacking tray... and those 'safety pins' going through the posts? Never needed in a properly designed and professionally fabricated locking system. Definitely built down to a price... it's all good until something breaks or someone gets hurt...
Just saying - compare features and design before 'jumping' onto a 'cheap' lift...

@@SugeRealest Hmmm... faulty logic I'm afraid... it's like saying I'll buy a Fiat 500 and expect it to be the same quality and perform like a Ferrari - coz they're both made in Italy... completely disregarding the features and design. As I said, this is an OLD design - with no secondary slack cable locks... and of course, this can only be a very casual and superficial review on a lift that's just been installed. Compromises on materials and function of components usually show up a little further down the track. Then, the true price of a cheap lift is revealed. Having said that, there'll always be a market for guys who put price ahead of everything else...
It should just NEVER be the priority on a piece of heavy-duty garage equipment that has the potential to severely injure or kill you if something fails...
@@herohoistsaustralia4502 I researched in particular nimalift it's a company from Denmark that I thought was reputable. I went on their website and I was shocked to find out that all the lifts they make are made in China. I hope I'm not offending anyone Chinese but my actual issue is not so much spending money to get a quality lift my issue is that if 2 lifts are made in China one of them is expensive and one is cheap. Why would I pay more for the expensive lift if both are made in China. So to be very clear what I'm saying is simple some of the biggest lift manufacturers are made in China mega disappointing I think.
@TMW YT hey I am about to order two similar lifts for a 2 car garage, They have the measurement as 14.6ft wide. Im trying to figure out if they included the hydraulic res and motor in that measurement, and same deal with length, and if they included those ramps in the length. Is it possible for you to get me the measurement if JUST from the edges of the base of the feet, length and width?

I bought what i believe is the exhaust same lift, is yours wobbly without a vehicle on it? i push my corners and the lift will wobble, wondering if this is normal

What was the cost of raising the garage door?
We had to get an entirely new garage lift system so I think it was around 800-900 installed.
@@TMWYT for both sides or just the side with the lift? I’m also on Utah and am looking to get a lift. I had my electrician put outlets on the sides of the garage doors so that’s ✅.
Did you have to secure the full post to the cement floor in the garage or is it just free standing
Free standing, you can put it on the provided casters and move it around if needed
He showed the pin hole to lift it all the way up. I did not see any other pin holes in the lift, to just lift it part way up to pull a transmission???
I assume you mean the multiple notches in each of the post to only lift/lower it a certain amount? It has multiple levels of notches for different heights and we have done a clutch on the lift!

I like the lift but the linkage for the safety seem to catch on my lifct, I wish they would of doine that totally differenct, I tell you this I wouldnt buy another lift from Mayflower again, terrible support, I might file a complataint with the Product saftey commussuon, the safety devices should not be so crappy. How do you feel about your lift after 9 months.

Your camera is all jerky and the focus keeps shifting. Try slowing down. Maybe I'll subscribe in the future when you learn to control your camera better. 3 minutes in and already I have a headache. 6 minutes in and I couldn't handle anymore.
