Two childhood friends with the same goal, to help their mother. One would do everything in order to win. One tries as hard as he can to win while keeping his moral values. In the end, the one who tries to kept his moral won. But he didn't achieve his goal, his mom died alone thinking he left her. While the other one who lost manage to help his mom even though he died. A true moral dilemma. Anyone can say Sangwoo is evil, but at the same time, the moment you re-entered the game knowing full well how the game goes, you and everyone else chose the same route of letting others dies in order to win the money. We can say Gihun kept his moral, but in some part he didn't, his hand was not clean, he too had kill directly, during the tug-of-war game. That's why he can't let go of the game. His guilt and part of the morals he had left is not allowing him to let it to continue anymore.

Sang woo is evil because he manipulated people to his advantage. Gi-hun killing people is part of the game and not burden on him. He is forced to kill to survive and has no choice. He has deep trauma and complex ptsd from the games. Sang Woo and Gi-hun are mirrors of each other. Sang Woo gets corrupted by money and cost sunk fallcy, while Gi-hun tries to help people when he can.

34:00 He's right. There will be season 2 but it doesn't need to be. The director didn't have another season in mind at the first time.
he just left some possibilities for next season just in case. so actually this is it.
every main character‘s death are foreshadowed in episode 2 exactly in same way of their death.
this means there's no difference between the squid game and the real world. Both worlds work on the same principle.
The people in the Squid Game compete in an unfair game, and the sacrifice of others is inevitable in order to be the winner.
Just as they obeyed the game without awareness of the brutality of the game,
aren't we being obedient without any question to the system of the real world? who made this rule? what is it for?
The old man who made the rule tries to persuade Gi-hun, "Accept that you are the winner." "That's how it's supposed to be!"
And the front man accepted this. The front man stands for winner.
People who earned benefit in the system tend to justify and defend the system.
They literally become front men saying, "This rule is fair."
So, Gi-hun's turning around represents resistance or doubt against the system which is taken for granted. and his red hair means his anger.
This turning around is exactly what the director wants to tell us.
It's not just about collapsing the system. It's about asking questions.
Anyway, I enjoyed your reactions very much. Keep it up! 👍

    Great reaction...........
His mother gave Gi-Hun money for 3yrs and he did nothing to improve himself.
However, if you just give people money, most of the time they don't work to find a better way to be independent.
The money in the suitcase was the 100 million per person. The cop was shot in the shoulder, fell 200ft into the sea. Bleeding with sharks and nothing happened in over a year. Did he really live? They stopped the night game because they needed 80 people for tug of war.

Netflix's big mistake when it launched this show was to make all the episodes available to watch, which in a short time on social media already had spoilers for the ending, which in this case slightly harms the best experience when watching, in your case even worse because they watched it after it had been released for a long time, but even so the show was harrowing, dramatic and with a great performance from the main actor. I don't know if a second season will generate the same empathy from the public, I hope so.

All the reactors sadly missed this important point.... Oh Il Nam saved Gi-hun's life again. If he dies in secret, Gi-hun continues to live the life of a drunken bum cause he feels guilty about killing the old man. By revealing himself, Gi-hun is able to live again cause he no longer feels any remorse. And the old man obviously set up the final game for Gi-hun to win (again) so he would enjoy the money. Oh Il Nam was evil but he truly cared for Gi-hun and had a soft spot for him.

Il-nam turned out to be a evil but I agree he definitely had some feelings for gi-hun, in the games it was probably the first time in a while that Il-nam was treated like a weak senile old nobody instead of being treated like a powerful wealthy man like he was used to, and gi-hun was the only one that had the heart to stick with him until the end, I believe that this reminded il-nam (right before he passed away) of the innocent and un-corrupt life he used to have in his childhood

I know people like Gihun and think of him as a hero, but I didn't understand him at all and thought that he was a very selfish person
who was easily distracted and lived in denial and delusion. He was so prideful that he let his mother die alone instead of just taking the money his ex wife husband gave him, odds are he probably wouldn't have been around long with loan shark's threatening to take
his body parts anyway. I understood why the step father didn't want him around,I see everyone sympathizing with Gihun and nobody
Understanding what it does to a child having to worry about her dad getting beat up,him breaking promises her having to pretend to except his excuses, its not up to her to make it alright for him, when he's supposed to make things alright for her.
I didn't like SanWoo but I understood him
