      Thanks, yea I figured this was the reality for a lot of people so it might be nice to have some solace.
      Thank you for the encouragement, I’m absolutely going to grind chemistry like it’s my freaking job lol. My next test is in 2 months and I’ll post that reaction score too 😬😅.

      Thank you! Was hoping for a better reaction video cause I wanted to pass lol, but it is what it is. I found out that close to 50% of MCAT takers have to take this exam again so at least people can relate 😅.

      Thank you so much! I’m going to grind Chem/Phys for the next 53 days like it’s freaking life or death. The sad thing is chemistry used to be my fav subject, so I know I can do this I just have to not be scared to jump into the hard stuff. On every FL, aamc or 3rd party, I’d never gotten below a 124 so I was just praying to be lucky lol. Which is never smart in a test against other ppl cause I know that’s what sinked me.
      I’ll be doing live study mcat sessions if u ever want a study buddy haha, after my school/work is over May 8th I’ll have an actual schedule to post for the study sessions 😊.

    • @MedSchoolGirl
      @MedSchoolGirl  Před 3 lety

      Thanks! Honestly I didn’t know how to feel. I posted on Reddit that my pessimistic was a 495, optimistic was a 507, and realistic was anywhere in between there cause I had no idea how it could have gone. Coming out I felt okay, was relieved it was over, following that I kept remembering questions and things I got wrong, specifically the C/P section and started feeling worse. My score was 3 points above my average FL’s though. 1 point below my highest FL. If that helps any. Are you waiting for a score to come back?

      Hey! So I do think cars is slightly more individualized for each person in terms of strategy, versus the other science subjects. But here are a couple things that really helped me that could potentially help u without messing up ur strategy. After I complete a passage I close my eyes and take a deep breath for 5 seconds and when I breath out I think about clearing my mind of the last passage and those questions and focusing on the passage in front of me. In practice FL’s I would do a full 10 seconds but on the real one I did 5, I think that inadvertently helped with time management.
      For the actual test there was one passage in the middle that was so long, it was about history and super boring. I read two paragraphs and was like what the heck this makes no sense. I decided to cut my losses and move on to the next passage which was a lot more interesting, I then went back to the boring passage and it was easier to understand. That passage was easily one of the hardest I’ve read and was probably what dropped everyone’s score down. So trust ur instincts, if u don’t understand what’s happening, either slow down and reread slowly or completely change the passage (this 2nd one is not a practice u should fall into tho, I rarely did it on my FL’s)
      Finally highlighting stops ur flow. Before a passage u want to tell urself that this is the most interesting thing ur going to learn today and put urself in the shoes of the author. And that also takes being in flow and completely reading the passage before going to the questions. You can highlight in grey by clicking ur mouse just to keep ur place, but other than dates and names, even Jack Westin says not to highlight.

      Jeez that was such a long reply. Hope that helps! Please let me know if it does ^.^ also u have to keep time like for a 7 passage question u get 11-12 minutes or something like that, u can look the numbers up online. But keeping pace is important so ur not rushed at the end.

    You can get into medical school with 505 and good story.

    • @MedSchoolGirl
      @MedSchoolGirl  Před 3 lety +1

      I know it’s not impossible, and I do have a decent story which I’ll probably publish here later. But I’m in a program where I need at least a 504, and a 124 in each subsection, and if I get it I automatically get an interview and then get in to the school. So where this score would be a chance that score would be a guarantee. This is definitely better than the alternative of having got a 124 in each subsection and then a 496 overall 😬. Because I’m retaking it June 18th, if I don’t get the score again then I’ll apply with this one. But I don’t really see that happening. Been grinding chem every day :). I had a lot of mistakes that I made the first time around in studying for this test so hopefully with correcting those I can get a better score.
