      Golden Ben : De La Hoya’s sh*t is so padded, and this notion that he fought and beat all of the best is laughable.
      At welterweight and above he has more signature losses than he does signature wins.
      Signature wins: Gatti, Vargas, Mayorga
      Cheap wins: Camacho, Chavez
      Undeserved wins: Whitaker, Quartey
      Signature losses: Pacquiao, Mosley, Trinidad (he ran when he got tired), Mayweather, and Hopkins
      Fighters he ducked or (luckily) never had to face: Jones (ascended in weight), Nunn (incarcerated), McClelland (disabled by Benn), Benn, Forrest (murdered), and Wright (Oscar ducked him).
      Oscar was in negotiations to fight Wright, but he handled it like a P*. He played such hardball that the deal didn’t get done. Truthfully, he wanted no part of Weight, just like he wanted no part of Forrest - or rematches with Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad, Vargas, or Hopkins.
      That’s not a strong resume. It definitely doesn’t make him one of the greatest fighters ever. He was certainly one of the more talented fighters, but one of the greatest?
      Nope!!!

    He probably will never get the credit he deserves because of all his personal bs. But he was one of the greatest ever. Never ran from anyone always fought the best out. I wish they woulda showed when he fought camacho. I think the only real fights he lost were to Bhop and manny. Cuz he beat Floyd 7 to 5. He got Mosley and trini just the same. They don't make fighters like oscar anymore

    • @JD_2597
      @JD_2597 Před 9 lety +23

      He didn't beat Floyd at all. Crowd misinterpretations and clearly misinterpretations on your behalf. Oscar never hurt mayweather and never troubled him with his punches.

    • @raiderlos2094
      @raiderlos2094 Před 9 lety +49

      @jack sorry man but he pressured floyd all fight long while floyd ran. He was the aggressor and had his moments and from what I watched won a very very close fight like I said 7-5. And I watch fights the first time live with no sound so I don't hear the crowd. Floyd has his moments as well but I think Oscar did enough with his pressure to steal the close rounds and edge out Floyd. Clearly I wasn't the only one that saw that... Hence the split decision....and damn near everyone at ringside having it for Oscar. I think the victory for Floyd was given to him simply because he was the fighter that would carry the sport after Oscar exited the sport

    • @JD_2597
      @JD_2597 Před 9 lety +9

      Carlos Delgado jr nope. Floyd won in my book. Just because someone is the aggressor it doesn't mean they should win. Tyson was always the aggressor, yet he lost fights.

    • @Ed-uu9eo
      @Ed-uu9eo Před 5 lety +7

      Yeah. Kinda like when Mayweather fought Pacquiao. After Pac received one of the most devastating KO in the history of boxing that's when Mayweather actually tried to make the fight happen. Everyone knew Pac wasn't the same as before. He was a lot more timid. A lot less aggressive. Manny fought the likes of Rios and Algerie and somehow Mayweather thought that was enough to "earn" a fight against him. Not when Manny was beating all these big names before the KO though. Mayweather fought a shell of Pacquiao. He's a smart business man and timed it right.

      Pacquaio was Freddie Roaches creation . I believe Dela hoya is making more money as a promoter and just did not care when he fought Pacman . He made his money promoting that fight and why take all that punishment in your later years when you could make more money promoting . He just did not care and had to drop down to a weight that he did not have to fight at in eight years . Even Freddie said he was dehydrated before that fight . I cannot believe people shit all over deal Hoya after all those years of great boxing he gave us . People are just sheep

      Tim Gatuteo read this for me real quick by the way this is from boxingnews24
      "The next year, however, a badly weight drained De La Hoya was stopped in the 8th round by Manny Pacquiao in an ill-advised fight weight of 147 pounds for De La Hoya. It was insane for De La Hoya to have agreed to fight at that weight, because he was walking around at 180 lbs and had to take off a lot of weight through dieting to get down to 147. You could see even before the fight that De La Hoya was in trouble, because he looked painfully thin, as if he had lost a great deal of muscle instead of just fat."

      you credit DLH for too much weight loss, but the one who comes from light- flyweight who is not supposed to be in welter at that time, because he is from lightweight only "SKiPPing" junior-welter, to fight at welter-w.. you did not.. i know, its hard too lose weight, but its not also easy to be bloated in-order to be at that division.. DLH clearly stated after the fight that "Pac was the better man, he deserves all the accolades, he deserves everything that he has accomplish.." no tsk tsk tsk excuses... but sadly, many fans have their own opinion of "being old, dehydrated, not on prime".. ... If DLH beat Pac back in 08', will you also commend, or at least give credit to the small 5'6 and say "Pac is inexperience, small, bloated not on the elite lvl.. etc., REASONS?... I guess you will not, becoz u are DLH fan.

Basically Oscar finished with only 3 losses. 2 clear and 1 draw. He's a legend. Was robbed by judges and after Trinidad fight he was never the same. If he won Oscar would've beaten Mosley and went on undefeated. Cause nobody wanted that kid. He'd fucking destroy anyone. Boxing sucks now. The Ali, Tyson, de la hoya, gatti, Pac man eras are done. We're left with this bum gayweather who loves to run. Someone is gonna smash that bee. He don't deserve to be a boxing elite but he is a great defense dodger. No class or excitement.
