Mine too man good on . I saw him in the olympics when he was the only gold Metalist on the whole team and said there is going to be a great Champion . I hate when people say Pacman would have beat Dela Hoya in any era . Pacquaio was Freddie Roaches creation . I believe Dela hoya is making more money as a promoter and just did not care when he fought Pacman . He made his money promoting that fight and why take all that punishment in your later years when you could make more money promoting . He just did not care and had to drop down to a weight that he did not have to fight at in eight years . Even Freddie said he was dehydrated before that fight . I cannot believe people shit all over deal Hoya after all those years of great boxing he gave us . People are just sheep
Wow looking back at this and looking at boxing now....boxing has truly died it's fucking sad i miss boxing maybe one day boxing will rise from the ashes but for now the UFC is absolutely dominating boxing
Kerth Dela Victoria no not really it's the promoters fault it takes fucking months to set up fights sometimes YEARS but the ufc it takes maybe a week or two to set up a super fight
That's why boxers and boxing still holds the record for highest purse for a fight and highest paid athletes between the two sports. Because it's getting absolutely dominated lmao
He was an American hero. He just got with a bad crowd. His flurries are legendary. Young girls, cocaine. Emmitt Smith said it best, "why in the world with the world at your feet would you want to give up a legacy for a night of pleasure" . One of the greatest boxers of all time taken down by his own insatiable desires. He was one of my heroes. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

No to mosley because Mosley was on steroids during there fight and Yes to Floyd because Floyd threw less punches but he threw more of the effective punches and Pacquiao no not really that Dela Hoya was drained and done.
Kamal Smith uhm, the DLHvsPac... DLH was not drained, he only looks drain, old, slow and INEFFECTUAL, after sustaining the straight left of Pac with repetitious regularity.... infact, its only to Pac that DLH suffer for what u called "PUNISHMENT" rd.7&8, ... RTD in 9, and no other boxer... as the old poet says "DEATH with a thousand left hands"...
Tim Gatuteo read this for me real quick by the way this is from boxingnews24 "The next year, however, a badly weight drained De La Hoya was stopped in the 8th round by Manny Pacquiao in an ill-advised fight weight of 147 pounds for De La Hoya. It was insane for De La Hoya to have agreed to fight at that weight, because he was walking around at 180 lbs and had to take off a lot of weight through dieting to get down to 147. You could see even before the fight that De La Hoya was in trouble, because he looked painfully thin, as if he had lost a great deal of muscle instead of just fat."
you credit DLH for too much weight loss, but the one who comes from light- flyweight who is not supposed to be in welter at that time, because he is from lightweight only "SKiPPing" junior-welter, to fight at welter-w.. you did not.. i know, its hard too lose weight, but its not also easy to be bloated in-order to be at that division.. DLH clearly stated after the fight that "Pac was the better man, he deserves all the accolades, he deserves everything that he has accomplish.." no tsk tsk tsk excuses... but sadly, many fans have their own opinion of "being old, dehydrated, not on prime".. ... If DLH beat Pac back in 08', will you also commend, or at least give credit to the small 5'6 and say "Pac is inexperience, small, bloated not on the elite lvl.. etc., REASONS?... I guess you will not, becoz u are DLH fan.
Love him or hate, but you have to respect him. Never ducked anyone, sought out & fought the best at their best. Didn't cherry pick. Win, lose or draw, always came to fight, a true warrior. Not a protected fighter like the boxers of today who avoid the best or time the fights till others are either past their prime or over the hill. Hats off to Oscar and thanks for some amazing fights
Oscar is the MAN, he whipped Trinidad ass, he beat Mosley in the first fight, and he beat Mayweather. The judges robbed him, and ANYONE who knows boxing knows it.
+David Merrell He was still a beast, he was just fighting monsters like Trinidad and De La Hoya.....His chin wasnt that great I agree, but vs tremendous puncher like Trinidad, noone chin is too good lol))
Siempre peleó con los mejores y nunca vi que se le favoreciera, ni en peleas cerradas como vs Trinidad, para mi uno de los más grandes, México le dió el don pero en EU lo desarrollaron.
Oscar de la hoya the most celebrated boxer in this generation, the richest athlete, yes the richest athlete...the first Mexican American to own his own Boxing promotion company,, a positive influence in the hispanic community,, Oscar de la hoya is awesome...
Oscar only lost to Mosley 1. Close with quartey. Close with Whitaker. Loss to Hopkins. A draw with gayweather. And a clear loss to Pac man. Basically Oscar finished with only 3 losses. 2 clear and 1 draw. He's a legend. Was robbed by judges and after Trinidad fight he was never the same. If he won Oscar would've beaten Mosley and went on undefeated. Cause nobody wanted that kid. He'd fucking destroy anyone. Boxing sucks now. The Ali, Tyson, de la hoya, gatti, Pac man eras are done. We're left with this bum gayweather who loves to run. Someone is gonna smash that bee. He don't deserve to be a boxing elite but he is a great defense dodger. No class or excitement.
No class? lol, you clearly don't know SHIT about boxing. Mayweather completely outclassed, outlanded and outpointed Oscar. He negated all of Oscar's work and had pin point accuracy. Oscar decided to be a cocky son of a bitch and rest for the second half of the Trinidad fight. Got beaten by Mosley in the first fight. Got his ass whooped by Hopkins and Pacquiao. Oh, and Whitaker beat him too.
zTundra mosley barely beat him. Trinidad lost by 4 rounds. Hopkins got perfect liver shot. Whitaker lost by 2 rds. He beat Mosley & Vargas on their steroids. He never should've fought Pac man cause he was no longer a fighter. You are one dumb Fuck kid
I admit that Oscar got Robbed he knows he's still champ tripleG has a chance but slim I always loved him I'm not Hispanic but if he returns you will see the fight which once again define him and cement him once again as the Golden boy
De La Hoya lost every big fight he ever had except when he fought Fernando Vargas. Think about it. He lost to Trinidad, Mosley, Pacquiao, Mayweather, etc. His biggest wins were against legends way past their prime.
Midnight Ivy To be fair he was robbed in the 2nd Mosely fight, and was past his prime in the Mayweather and Pac fights. He did get lucky against Sweet Pea though imo
Dela hoya the best left handed fighter in the world. Throwing a 4 quick punches n jabs before landing the knock out right not many boxers I see do that today or ever only one (THE GOLDEN BOY) pretty to watch.
It was definitely the end when he essentially gave up vs Trinidad. He was a beast but he just mentally never could stay up on the high level against Mosley, Hopkins’s, and Mayweather which was a close fight actually.
Even though he did started to run a little in the last couple of rounds he still WON enough ROUNDS easily to WIN THE FIGHT...!!! But hey it's BOXING and it's NOT the FIRST OR LAST TIME THIS HAPPENS...!!! So even though at the time i was so FUCKING ANGRY and it took a couple of years to get over it but now I'm good... he was the greatest boxer ever! still gives me goosebumps the speed of him, amazing x oscar de la hoya we love you x
Mad skills he was a killer in there
Oscar fought them all in their prime!
Oscar was a true champ he fought who he had to fight regardless if he could get his ass beat.for the fight with Floyd at least and I mean at least that fight should have been a draw, even though in my eyes oscar won and with trinidad I was so mad that night. oscar gave trinidad a boxing lesson happy to say I grew up watching real fighters not pussy one's like there is now, oscar will always be one of the many greatest in those Times. "El Niño De Oro"
DoesNotExist305 yea man i cant wait to see this guys future Rigo is going to be a Legend
DoesNotExist305 Yes, but Rigo is more like Floyd, Olympic' point " boxing. It's boring. At least Oscar was able to exchange wild punches and went for the KO at times. Floyd and Rigo never do.
Respect for this guy :) Salute !!
Golden Boy is a true boxing gentleman. Class will always take you far in life! God bless you.
De La Hoya one of the greatest to ever put on the gloves better than mayweather....
Julian Bustillos : You mean Floyd Mayweather, Sr., right? 😏
Wow looking back at this and looking at boxing now....boxing has truly died it's fucking sad i miss boxing maybe one day boxing will rise from the ashes but for now the UFC is absolutely dominating boxing
Chris Martinez Floyd is to blame
Kerth Dela Victoria no not really it's the promoters fault it takes fucking months to set up fights sometimes YEARS but the ufc it takes maybe a week or two to set up a super fight
That's why boxers and boxing still holds the record for highest purse for a fight and highest paid athletes between the two sports. Because it's getting absolutely dominated lmao
Darth Jar Jar Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier got paid 1 million and 500k. The money is nothing compared to boxing.
Win or lose..oscar was always a show man in the ring.. hate 0% n respect 100% for dela hoya.
One of the best of all time!
Floyd Mayweather Sr. has that cool dread locks.. LMAO
Stop drinkin....you're still amazing.
He was an American hero. He just got with a bad crowd. His flurries are legendary. Young girls, cocaine. Emmitt Smith said it best, "why in the world with the world at your feet would you want to give up a legacy for a night of pleasure"
. One of the greatest boxers of all time taken down by his own insatiable desires. He was one of my heroes. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
You have to respect Oscar's career. He took some L's but that's because he always fought top competition. Great fighter with a big heart.
Mayweather greatly robbed him lol
greatly kicked his ass lol
It was their plan that how they're both promoters 💀💀💀💯
Zero_RR : Hopkins and Pacquiao “robbed” him too.
only time de la hoya was truly beaten was against pacquaio and hopkins, and he was winning against hopkins before he got stopped...
mosley both times, trinidad, and floyd could have easily gone to de la hoya..
also should add that the "knockout" by bernard was a body shot, Hoya had an Iron Chin like no other.
True. And he was way shot by then too! Dude was doing as much coke as he was training and was on the later side of his 30s.
Facts
he never had a chance against Hopkins
@@markquintero215 He was actually beating Hopkins which is unbelievable. We knew something like that liver shot was coming. But the fact he boxed that good against Hopkins at that weight, is amazing
He definitely fought the best of his era. Didn’t duck anyone .
One of my favorite fighters🥊
De La Hoya was awesome because besides his fighting spirit, he's also a great guy
I always loved Oscar... I think if he would have fought Mayweather during his prime years...not after he was pretty much done boxing and becoming a promoter with Goldenboy, "bankrupted" Mayweather would have gotten his ass beat...
He's a shady promoter (like damn near all the other ones) and he's made mistakes (like everyone else on the planet) but in his prime he was one of the greatest fighters of all time. Haters can eat their hearts out.
best jab, great footwork, granite chin, devastating combinations., great IQ. literally the greatest boxer ever without a single weakness. was robbed against Trinidad, Mosley and floyd jr. there will never again be another Golden Boy
so in reality he fought like mayweather would vs trinidad and lost for it....faxxxx
Oscar De La Hoya Greatest Losses(HBO)
De la Hoya is the best!!
A great fighter true & true!!
you miss the point. a majority of those losses should have gone the other way. Best example was his fight with mayweather. Oscar out landed but lost a split decision that should have gone in his favor.
Ron Worster De La Hoya landed 82 of 341 power punches (24 percent), and Mayweather landed 138 of 241 (57 percent). De La Hoya connected on 122 of 587 total punches (21 percent), and Mayweather connected on 207 of 481 (43 percent).

Castillo beat mayweather bad in the first fight but mayweather paid the judges
@@jordan267450 Castillo landed 133 power punches

mayweather landed only 157 total punches but threw 448 total punches with a 35% connect
, Castillo beat mayweather easily in the first fight but mayweather had the judges in his pockets
Prime oscar was fuckin bad ass!he was robbed by tito n once by mosley fight.legit loses were one with mosley, hopkins n paquiao
Tim Gatuteo read this for me real quick by the way this is from boxingnews24
"The next year, however, a badly weight drained De La Hoya was stopped in the 8th round by Manny Pacquiao in an ill-advised fight weight of 147 pounds for De La Hoya.
Tim Gatuteo so tim what do you have to say about this?
you credit DLH for too much weight loss, but the one who comes from light- flyweight who is not supposed to be in welter at that time, because he is from lightweight only "SKiPPing" junior-welter, to fight at welter-w.. you did not.. i know, its hard too lose weight, but its not also easy to be bloated in-order to be at that division..
Prime De La Hoya > Floyd Mayweather
Greatest Hits? Loss, loss, loss....
he only lost 6 times that's pretty good compared to all the champions he fought in such little wins
but yea I agree they showed his losses lol 😂
greatests hits, he won a lot, but the greats fights he lost
Don't post Greatest if you show the losses, you don't make sense
Lee Smith this was a bad presentation on greatest hits they got lazy and put his previous Best fights
Oscar was one of the best of all time. He didn't avoid or run from other boxers he fought the best and won most of them.
Oscar is the MAN, he whipped Trinidad ass, he beat Mosley in the first fight, and he beat Mayweather. The judges robbed him, and ANYONE who knows boxing knows it.
mayweather was clearly beaten by DLH
Exactly!
Vargas would have been a beast if he didnt have a glass chin.
His ads got fatigue
And if he wasn't so anxious and in a hurry to fight de la Hoya. Vargas was the future. WAS.
+David Merrell He was still a beast, he was just fighting monsters like Trinidad and De La Hoya.....His chin wasnt that great I agree, but vs tremendous puncher like Trinidad, noone chin is too good lol))
David Merrell Vargas had more heart then brains
David Merrell . He moved up way to fast. He was still kind of green when he fought De La Hoya and Tito..
Has always been my favorite boxer and that will never change!
Great fighter and trailblazer his greatness can't be denied in and out the ring. Much respect.....
Oscar de la hoya should of won against floyd maywether
He out box him
naturalselector85 lol who hurt you
Im a huge dlh fan but going back and watching the fight i honestly can't be that upset by the result
more like de la hoyas greatest robberies ( on Hbo)
Agreed I'm Puerto Rican.
Los boxeadores son más duros que los luchadores
Hands down, my favorite boxer ever! Both in and out of the ring.
ive never seen someone greatest hits have so many loses in it.........just saying...
2 decisions were dubious. The Trinidad fight and Mosley 2, who was even on PEDs at the time.
ElSpewtardo yeah.....
bsmi1361 its true dude look it up.
well just understand the word 'greatest' means at their best
Any fighter that took on the challenges that De La Hoya took on would have losses on his record.
this episode was so bad.. lol
You're a fucking idiot. Nobody cares what you think is a loss, he definitely lost to Mayweather.
OGMudbone Appaarently you care.
No class? lol, you clearly don't know SHIT about boxing.
Oh, and Whitaker beat him too.
zTundra you're a degenerate. Lmao. You know nothing about the sport. Don't come at with your pre k knowledge. Go play with your dolls.
zTundra mosley barely beat him. Trinidad lost by 4 rounds. Hopkins got perfect liver shot. Whitaker lost by 2 rds. He beat Mosley & Vargas on their steroids. He never should've fought Pac man cause he was no longer a fighter. You are one dumb Fuck kid
Oscar beat gayweather!!
Not according to the judges.
DJJAHRU he got his ass handed to him
he was a monster, a great boxer, always focused and well trained!
I admit that Oscar got Robbed he knows he's still champ tripleG has a chance but slim I always loved him I'm not Hispanic but if he returns you will see the fight which once again define him and cement him once again as the Golden boy
They forgot to show how he beat Floyd mayweather
De La Hoya lost every big fight he ever had except when he fought Fernando Vargas. Think about it. He lost to Trinidad, Mosley, Pacquiao, Mayweather, etc. His biggest wins were against legends way past their prime.
Midnight Ivy To be fair he was robbed in the 2nd Mosely fight, and was past his prime in the Mayweather and Pac fights. He did get lucky against Sweet Pea though imo
Midnight Ivy his fight against Ike quartey
Midnight Ivy robbed against trinidad and mosley II.. pac & mayweather he was past his prime..
he got robbed against Trinidad watch the fight
he beat mosely the 2nd time. i also believe he beat mayweather
Oscar...a true gentleman...through and through...And a big fighting heart!!!
The strategy and tactics Oscar used against mayweather is what canelo should have done . Canelo Tried to outbox him and got crushed.
Oscar De la hoya was unbeatable he got robbed 3 times Trinidad Mosley and Mayweather .A beast in his prime
De la Hoya kicked the ass to Trinidad, De la Hoya was robbed, but as he said once... “if Don King is involve in any fight, you’ll lose for sure”
Gracias 🌷☺HBO BOXING. Gracias Oscar De la Hoya.☺ 🇲🇽🌷☺🇺🇸🌷
I miss HBO boxing :'(
Mayweather sr, one of the best trainers to ever do it!
Still one of the GREATEST BOXER OF HIS ERA AND MY FAVORITE BOXER OF MY ERA...!!! Just love that i was able to watch all his MAIN EVENT AND OVERALL GREATEST FIGHTS LIVE WHEN THEY EXACTLY HAPPENED...!!!
Oscar dela Hoya was the man in mid 90's and early 2000's I grew up hearing his name without knowing him until I saw him fight Vargas when I was a kid
What a great boxer in my opinion one of the greats in the welterweight division ;)
one of the top fight in history when he was in his prime.
he passed the torch to Floyd
Oscar's best performances were in the 90s, at 130-140.
Oscar De La Hoya a choker with talent
Delahoya whooped everybodys ass people dont want to admit it but it is what it is when you watch his fights . this guys a true legend all bullshit aside
Oscar was a beast at his him u cant take nothing away from him aka the golden boy
Hes one of the greatest fighters never back down from anyone
Oscar was a class act. Excellent fighter. Fought guys at the top of "their" game.
De La Hoya rocked the best trunks, straight suede fabric like the 40s!
