  • The Harry Potter franchise remains extremely popular to this day, and many adults who grew up with the books and films still like to revisit them and catch little details they never did before. J.K. Rowling and the filmmakers worked to put little bits of foreshadowing and symbolism in every installment, and there are certain payoffs that you won’t get until the very end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
    From the numbers that keep re-appearing to the fan theory that gets referenced in the final film, let’s take a look at some small details that only die-hard Harry Potter fans understand.

    Another thing about the Deathly Hallows symbol Easter eggs:
    The Dursleys give Harry three Christmas gifts over the course of the series. The first was a coin (which he gave to Ron) the second was a toothpick, and the third was a tissue. Separately, the gifts seemed to bear no significance, but when put together, the coin represented the Resurrection Stone, the toothpick represented the Elder Wand, and the tissue represented the Invisibility Cloak.
    Edit: I didn’t find this out myself! The real credit goes to some Tumblr user, probably lol

      You mean they have 7 kids, right?
      Ginny, Ron, Fred, George, Percy, Charlie, and Bill. Counting the parents would make it 9.
      But you're right, that was confirmed in the very first book when Ron corrects Harry on the Hogwarts Express, saying that he has 5 brothers, not 3. Then count Ron himself and Ginny who was there as well and you have 7.

  • @jinny840
    @jinny840 Před 6 lety +243

    since yall are commenting interesting theories, here's one: Professor Trelawny once asked Harry if he was born mid-winter and Harry laughed at her cuz he was born in July, but Tom riddle was born on 31st December which is mid-winter, hence in a way she was right.
    Here's one more: anyone wonder how da faq Harry could remember anything from his 1yr. old self when the dementors attacked him? if you read carefully, you'll see that the bad memory starts from when Tom kills James, but by that time Lily had already taken Harry into another room. So even if Harry had extraordinary memory, how could he know what happened outside the room? if you think about it, you could say this memory was from Tom's POV, and given that this was when his soul was split from his body, you could say it was one of his most bad memories.
    Both these points are like little hints for the readers pointing towards Harry being a horcrux, and if Jk Rowling wrote these intentionally then she is a superior queen.

    1) Pollux Black was thirteen years old when he and his wife Irma Crabbe had their first child, Walburga, in 1925.
    2) Lord Voldemort's wand is thirteen and a half inches long.
    3) Peter Pettigrew murdered twelve people after betraying James and Lily Potter, as well as faking his own death. As a result, Sirius Black was wrongly convicted of the murder of thirteen people and imprisoned in Azkaban.
    4) On Christmas Day, 1993, Sybill Trelawney, professor of Divination at Hogwarts, joined several of her pupils and fellow teachers for Christmas dinner in the castle's Great Hall. She was fearful upon noticing that twelve people were dining in the hall, believing that were she to sit down, the first of the thirteen seated to rise would be the first to die. Fellow professor Minerva McGonagall expressed doubts regarding her fears.
    However, if Peter Pettigrew in his Scabbers disguise is counted as a person, there were thirteen people before Trelawney arrived. Since Dumbledore rose from his seat to greet Professor Trelawney, and assuming Derek and two other unnamed students did not die before Dumbledore's death in 1997, Professor Trelawney's prediction was correct.
    5) In 1995, thirteen members of the order dined together, and the first to rise was Sirius. Sirius was the first to die of those thirteen people.
    6) Barty Crouch Jr.'s escape from Azkaban prison in 1982 was not known publicly until 1995, thirteen years later.
    7) Lord Voldemort spent thirteen years of his life without a body and the Death Eaters had not met in his presence for thirteen years before they did so in the Little Hangleton graveyard on 24 June, 1995.
    8) Thirteen people came to collect Harry Potter from 4 Privet Drive for the last time in 1997. It is possible that this contributed to the bad luck experienced by these wizards and witches on this operation. One of the thirteen, Alastor Moody, died that day.
    9) After Alastor Moody's death, 13 people sat in the living room of the Weasleys. The first person to stand up, Remus Lupin, was the first to die.

      That's exactly what Harry meant, don't doubt yourself. A lot of the things on this list are just things that the narrator has found by looking too far into it. Rowling has explained pretty much everything in painstaking detail, any information can be found elsewhere with a lot more credibility. Like the Snape thing for instance, he wasn't hinting to harry that he bitterly regrets his mother's death at all, that is just someone looking for connections for the sake of a video, he hated Harry because he reminded him so much like his father, but he felt a duty to Lily to keep Harry safe throughout his school days.

    One thing that the books and movies hint at is that Harry is immortal. Harry goes up against The Dark Lord seven times, starting when he's a baby to the last show down after he dies, and survives each time, it can be his mother's protection, his own skill, and the fact that the Dark Lord marked him as a child, but he survives each time. Before he, the most anyone had been able to survive against the Dark Lord is three times, his own parents, Neville parents, and Hanna Abbot's Mom (Hanna's mom is speculation on my part because of different things said and hinted at in the books.)
    The prophecy even says ..."Either must die at the others hand for neither can live while the other survives," so in effect by Killing The Dark Lord he, Harry, has made himself immortal because Voldemort is the only person who can kill Harry.
    On top of that Harry is the only known person who could unite the Hallows without being corrupted by them. He released the ones he loved from staying with him while he fought knowing their time on Earth was at an end. The unbeatable wand was only used at the last possible moment and he did not keep it for himself, unlike the movie where he breaks the wand, he returns it to whom he believed it belonged to: his friend, mentor, and grandfather figure- Dumbledore. He keeps the cloak because that's his family, but even then much like the original brother he doesn't use the cloak for nefarious purposes.
    By being the only person who can unite the hallows he is truly the master of death-- so much so he even survives death it's self, the sixth time he goes up against Voldemort. There are more examples, but I could write a 20 page dissertation on the subject.

    • @soaapyhaze
      @soaapyhaze Před 5 lety +6

      Personally I don’t understand how Harry can be ‘immortal’. The prophecy speaks of a power that Harry has that Voldemort lacks- love, from his mother Lily. This causes Harry to withstand the first and second confrontations of Voldemort. The third encounter with Voldemort shows Harry’s devotion to Dumbledore bringing him Fawkes and the Sorting Hat. I’m sure you know well, but Fawkes blinded the Basilisk for Harry to divert it and escape. Then, by Harry showing the true Gryffindor he is, he kills the basilisk with a sword, destroys a horcrux and lives due to the power of Phoenix tears. The fourth encounter, Harry’s blood is used in the resurrection of Voldemort, the the effects of Lily’s love cannot harm Voldemort physically, yet by their wands twin cores, this causes Priori Incantatem and that is the sole thing that allows Harry to live. Then, at the end of Order of the Phoenix, Harry meets Voldemort again, yet Voldemort is interrupted by Albus Dumbledore and the ministry, Harry lives again. The next Harry meets Voldemort is in The Deathly Hallows. Since Harry himself was a horcrux, Harry had to die before Voldemort could die. Harry did not have access to his cloak in the woods, yet did, in fact, have the philosopher’s stone, which was the thing brought him back from the dead. In the last encounter, Harry duels Voldemort, yet is much stronger due to the destruction of the Horcruxes and the fact that the Elder Wand actually answered to Harry. You referenced a part of the prophecy that states that either one of them, Harry or Voldemort, would need to die at the other’s hand. Harry already did, and Voldemort also died at Harry’s hand. The prophecy did not say that the hand of the other was the only thing that could destroy them, only that neither Harry, nor Voldemort could live when their counterpart survived. Since Voldemort did die, Harry can live and can also die from a means other than old age. Even if he can be a master of death with the cloak, he could simply drown or burn to death, or even get killed by the killing curse whilst working as an Auror (which the cloak cannot protect against) meaning he does not obtain immortality. Even so, the third brother was not immortal by having the cloak, as he died of old age. Consequently, I cannot wrap my head around the prospect of Harry being immortal as you say, but I’d love to hear more from the other side of the argument to see if maybe my thoughts are wrong. Sorry in advance for the essay.

      Awesome..but I have a question. Let's agree that nobody can kill Harry other than Voldemort and as Voldemort was killed by Harry himself, nobody can harm or kill Potter. But can't he die normally? Without being killed or tortured, can't he die normally just like others do? The prophecy says that neither can live while the other survives. Voldermort's dead, so Harry can live without any trouble. But that DOESN'T mean that Harry will live FOREVER. He will eventually die due to aging problems or heart attack or whatever maybe the reason. He will suffer a natural death. Rather you can say Harry is UNBEATABLE OR INVINCIBLE,but you CAN'T surely say he is IMMORTAL

Also with the deathly Hallows. Rowling did all that. The movie makers just went along with it. Also no one believed Trelanany's prophecies because her great (Maybe more greats) grandmother was casandra. A known seir in mythology but was currsed so no one would believe her. Last one, the theory, is down right trash. Also the voldemort one. Its slytherin.

      I'm American, and I wish too it hadn't been changed. Apparently, Random House (the American publisher) didn't think Philosopher's Stone sounded magical enough to attract the American market, and convinced Rowling to change it. I didn't realize it wasn't originally the Sorcerer's Stone for several years after I read the books.

      It's all because of that film won't show what book describe and our imagination make, book will tell us story that we already know and it's like listening to your aunt about her visit in hospital
      And plays? They are... plays, they have script and script is meant to be performed not read
      And guys... Voldemort having daughter? Child of Hermione being intolerant? Ending that basically says: "Bad guys are bad, good ones are good and dead are dead and you can't change past"? Nope nopity nope

  • @Grimwear
    @Grimwear Před 7 lety +100

    My biggest issue with Harry Potter is that there should be 8 horcruxes. Voldemort talks about making 7 with Slughorn when he's a child and is known for being prepared and meticulous. If Voldemort was going off to kill the child of prophecy you'd think he'd make sure all 7 of his horcruxes were already in place in order to provide the greatest chances of success since we already know 7 is a magic number. Since all 7 should already be in place, Harry should then be the eighth. You could say Voldemort couldn't find a 7th item of renown to put his soul into but I mean seriously? The guy has been planning this out since his teenage years. He wouldn't start trying to take over the freaking wizarding world without having his immortality plan finished.

    • @DBZGotenStan
      @DBZGotenStan Před 7 lety +81

      Voldemort wanted a 7-part soul, not seven horcruxes. The seventh part remains inside his body.
      Although, you do still have a point. When he went to kill Harry, he only had 5 horcruxes in place. Nagini hadn't been made a horcrux yet. But, also remember that Voldemort's pride not only limited what kind of objects he would make horcruxes, but also the circumstances under which he would do so. When possible, he wanted to reserve his horcrux creations for significant deaths. For example, the Diary became a horcrux when his Basilisk killed Myrtle, marking his successful attempt to open the Chamber of Secrets and prove himself as the Heir of Slytherin.
      The reason I bring this up is because it is likely that Harry was going to be the victim for his final horcrux (presumably Nagini). Dumbledore also theorized this. However, as well all know that all backfired on him and Harry HIMSELF became the horcrux.
      Voldemort was never aware of this so 13 years later when he tortured Bertha Jorkins for information on the Triwizard Tournament, he used her death for Nagini's creation and thus he made what he believed to be his 6th horxrux but actually was his 7th.
      Side note: It's interesting that while he did make 7 horcruxes, he never actually had an 8-part soul because the Diary was destroyed before Nagini became a Horcrux. Of course, Voldemort wasn't aware of the Diary's destruction either until he forced the truth out of Lucius Malfoy (which, I would assume happened sometime between Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix).
      I hope that explains the situation a little.

Only he would know the true intent behind each horcuxe , and how you would have to go about using them to get to his soul and ultimately kill him . Cause you know his ultimate goal was to be immortal , .

    correct me if i'm mistaken but wasn't nagini the 7th horcrux? she became an horcrux when voldemort killed bertha jorkins in the goblet of fire

      Chronologically Nagini was the seventh, but Voldemort never intended to make a Horcrux out of Harry, so for all he knew, Nagini was the sixth one. (Remember, it was never supposed to be 7 horcruxes, only 6 + Voldemort himself)

    3:36 the prophecy was also true at the time she refused the invitation to eat. She ended up sitting at the table making it 13 (so she thought) however there was already thirteen at the table before she sat (scabbers was in rons pocket) and dumbledore stood up to greet trelawney. Dumbledore was the first to die.

    I can’t stand the “it all happened inside his head” theory
