This sheds some light on one of the major problems that developed in the 90s in Marvel Comics. You had to read EVERY title to follow what was going on as story-lines bounced from one to the next instead of playing out in one title. It's nice to have crossover and feel like they're building a real universe with continuity, but this became unsustainable as prices went up. When I quit collecting it was costing something like $200 a week to stay current with all Marvel and some DC titles.

Too true, when I was collecting in the early 2000s I tended to follow certain titles and found that the stories would often make large jumps for seemingly no reason. For that reason, I didn't buy Marvel comics. Instead I bought D.C. who tended to tell a character's story within a given title.

Mr. Sinister is really underrated. You know who the best monsters are? They are the ones nobody hears about most of the time. Sinister is a brilliant immortal with surprising powers who pulls strings via plotting. I'd rather make an enemy of Hulk, Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man or any of the DC Justice League before making an enemy of Mr. Sinister. He's like the war profiteer who profits no matter who wins, just a question of how much.

Even though Mr Sinister is definitely a background character he is still one of my favorite villains. Not sure if it’s his design or backstory, he’s just awesome
Btw I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a movie too, live action or animated, however I don’t think he would be good as a main villain. I mean, to be used effectively he would have to remain a background character, only show up once or twice, and strictly be used as a plot device. Which seems bad but sometimes that’s the best role for some characters.

Well done this explains alot of information ......like where and why and how wolverine is made to say the least .....and it ties up alot of loose ends in marvel comics for me thank you man . I might be a tough critic some times but I always learn something new from all your vids and you explain everything in perfect details ( I think ) not only that but you are exelent at being persise and not over or under exaggerating . I really like how you state facts and not trying to make your opinion seem like facts great job on all your vids keep it up Rob

It was a great video... I very much enjoyed it and diving so much into Sinister's background and existence... Thank you... probably why he has always been one of my favorite villains is because I have always loved Jean and Scott....Phoenix & Cyclops are my favorite super heroes, so it only makes sense i have the opposite end of the spectrum too.... Thanks

This is the only channel I subscribe to. Rob should be, without question, advisor for every superhero movie made from now on. I really think the studios could gain some valuable insight because Rob really captures the spirit of the comic books and their stories. I want to hang out and drink beer and eat pizza and read comic books of Rob. He should have a contest and whoever wins gets to fly to rob's house and hang out for a weekend.

@ComicsExplained: I believe a huge part of Mr. Sinister's history is also that he experimented a great deal on Gambit?

Hell yea great video! I'm in my mid 40's and always a big comic fan but never obsessive enough to really get a good idea of Sinister's storyline. Well done , it made sense and now I get to enjoy the X-men on a whole new level. Keep it coming.
