Visiting Oatman Arizona & Rockhounding

- I hardly have much time these days because of work to go anywhere or do anything so I decided to make a late night run, right after work, to go out into the desert and find some goodies, for my one day a week off.
This time around I went to Oatman Arizona area to visit some spots I remember passing by, a very long time ago, I got some cool finds, but not enough to justify the looong drive and usage of fuel.
I must go back !
There's a huge list of places in so many states I wanna visit.

Cool video Ol' Slim Pickens !, you are a man after my own heart sir, you watch out for the critters, and you like big rocks! Nice! At 30:04 are those big slabs on the right next to the screwdriver Stromatolites? Some neat stuff out there, just watch out for the Sneks and Nope Ropes, and thank you for taking us along.
You know I'm honestly not really sure on what that rock really is, doesn't cab nicely that's for sure, much softer in most of that rock.

I love rock hounding too- I was in Wickenburg few days ago- I saw my first snake of the season. I went back out 3 times since and I’ve been all alone.. accept for the prairie dogz- lol - oh shit a snake- wait one more rock.. lol

I’m new to desert rock hounding and was thinking of going out tomorrow or the next possibly the next day to oatman with my dog. After watching this I’m thinking I shouldn’t go because of the rattelers and as it will be 90+ I don’t want to leave him in the car. Should I not go out again until November? I have a place outside of Peach springs where I can find rainbow petrified wood and even though that’s higher elevation I’m guessing I shouldn’t go out by myself as an older woman. Could you advise me on dos and donts for me and my dog.
@@janlovig3371 after this trip I wouldn't suggest going alone, I shouldn't of gone by myself, this was my reminder, anything for rock hounding , I normally go when the snakes aren't out.
I'm surely buying snake bite proof leggings or boots before going back out during snake season.
