I have a ASUS TUF 3080 12GB running on a 1440p 165Mhz monitor. Playing Helldivers II , New World, Kings of Conquest III. No complaints.
just bought a 4070 Ti super upgrade from 960, and tbh, my 960 was still running fine for what i do, going to hand it down.
@@michelhickey5765did the same, my 5yo girl took over my 980ti rig which is still kicking butt, so i made a 4070tiS rig, and just bought my son an arc a770. Now we're playing with power!
Just got the 6800 and it's running everything great for the price. Might swap it for a 7700xt just hard to lose the 4 gigs of vram.
My R7 5700g and 5700xt is still a monster for 1440p gaming. The R7 5700g added more memory to my 8G 5700xt. I feel like a lot of people are not talking about that.
Omg. My parents watch a CZcams wrap up of weekly CostCo sales. I’m doing the same thing 😭
Interesting!!

Ive been rocking my 5600x/6750xt combo since last July and its been an amazing performer at 1440p.
Have you tried running Ark on it?
That's a great combo. I think I wish I had gone with that instead of my 5700X + 6650 XT combo.
Had a 6750XT for a year and just upgraded, very good card, I miss Adrenaline, don't miss the jet engine fans but that was prob my AIB.
Been using my 3080(10 gig) and my i7-12700 for the last year and it's been great for 1440p.
that's weird because i have a 5600x/6900XT and 1440p gaming has been crap since i "upgraded" i must have gotten a faulty gpu (probably bad thermal paste, and i'm not comfortable changing that)
what do you consider amazing? what games and what fps? personally i'm shooting for 120-144fps with at LEAST minimum settings. i can rarely do high settings for games these days.
If anyone is having a problem with their amd card frametime try the driver 23.8.2 6000 series, fixed me what months of troubleshooting could not
Just discovered your channel and just wanted to say thank you for breaking down a rather interesting GPU market. I find the dynamics fascinating.
So glad you found us! Thanks for tuning in, hope you keep enjoying all the content!
Great sight to see another banger post from Jason
Hope you enjoy!!
Waiting on the parts for my first ever build with a Ryzen 5 7500f and an XFX 6650 xt, your videos have been a huge help!
problem with the 5XXX is that if AMD doesn't have anything over a 8700XT RDNA4, nvidia is in no rush to show or annonce anything that soon. I think the computex jensen annoncement is gonna be AI related
Nvidia has no reason to either way. They "lose" money for every high end card they sell for gaming and not for AI.
Nvidia never had any plan to show their next gen stuff at computex
I have done two new builds since last fall, one for my wife and one for my son. I am thinking of doing one for myself since I end up with all the used stuff from their old pc's. Would you ever do a video about how to sell off old equipment to free up some resources for new builds? Great video as always. Thanks
Congrats on your builds! The second hand market isn't my area of expertise , I don't sell builds or parts on there myself so I can't help I'm afraid. But there are great channels out there that do this all the time
i really like the way you present information without all the fluff, keep it up.
Thanks for that, glad you thought so! Hope you keep enjoying all the new videos :)
why do all the aib partners make the same long 4080-4090 etc, why cant at least 1 aib make a short card like a fe model? It makes no sense that only the fe is shorter. These long cards make sff build impossible. And you cant buy a fe at msrp either.
I just built my pc like a month or two ago and bought my 6750 for $340 for it's insane price to performance. now theyre $310. damn it.
I did get the sapphire model at least which to my knowledge is a much higher quality model by a more reliable company than speedster. but still. $30-$40 is no joke. But at the time they were all $340 so what can you do. Especially bc it was supposedly going out of stock and mightve rised in price, at least that's what jason kept saying.
Hey man! Nice to see you again! Really thankful for one of your videos in which you gave many gpu and cpu combos! I finally got my new pc thanks to it too! It's not exactly what I wanted first, but it's still a strong combo I think. I ended up getting a Intel I5 14400f with a 4070 super, really great for editing on premiere and after, and also for gaming (i don't know if 4k too) whenever I want to!
Keep uploading great videos! Thank you!
Probably not great for 4K but a good for 1440p and the Combo is good.
If the 14500 wasn't much more where you are I would have gotten that CPU instead but the 1440F isn't bad and should be a decent combo with the 4070 Super.
Congrats on your pc!
Thanks for the useful video and peace of mind lol. Managed to pick up a NiB sealed 4070 super for $480 off someone on FB market and wasn’t sure if it was worth going over my original budget of $400. See now i couldn’t have even come close to that kind of value unless id have gone older and used.
I'd snatched it up for sure. Can't find it under 6 anywhere
I just switched from 6950 to 4080 super and couldn't be happier
I am too poor to have 4080 super 😢
My 4070 super is holding up very nicely.
Someone in the comment section recommended that I turned on that downscaling feature (forgot the name), so it renders nicer on a 1080p by making a 1440p picture first.
I paid a bit of overprice for that gpu, but now I have it and it works and I don't wanna mess more with a setup that finally runs satisfactory
I really love these price to Performance videos, with the spreadsheets. Because with so many products on the market it really helps to see them laid out on a spreadsheet
So glad to hear it!
Glad the spreadsheet is helpful! Thanks so much for tuning in :))
Thanks for the video! Just wanted to say you inspired me to build a new gaming rig so I went with a Asus Rog Strix X670e-A Gaming Wifi (i wanted the extra m.2 slots over the B650, i remember you said that was the only reason to go with this more $$ chipset in one of your vids). Anyway, just wanted to says thanks. Went with a 7800x3d since it's not a dead platform and great for gaming as well as a 4090. Yeah, probably not smart since the 5090 is coming like you mentioned but my wallet was burning a meteor sized hold in my pocket lol.
Replacing my 9 year pc and was able to get the phantom gaming 7900xt for $689 😍🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Congrats on the upgrade!
wow... you were patient.. 9 yrs, I usually do it every 5.
I dont have an intel gpu but i want them to continue to make them, they did such a great job the first go around i believe it would only get better
I hope they do. We need more competition all around!
Glad to see my 3080ti is getting some love!
When talking about 1080p vs 1440p vs 4k and what the gpu can handle/ are best for, how do multi-monitor set ups factor in?
For multi monitors I recommend going up one GPU level from what you otherwise need. See our Best Gaming Monitor 2024 video for more
I recently switched from 2k monitor to full hd due to growth of the cards prices in Europe and I really do not see anymore a reason to have 2k monitor... It was always requiring better cards, so more money to spend not saying about much higher energy bills I paid...
Great video, Jason and team. Do you think Zen 5 will just be a Zen 4 refresh, or can we expect significant changes? Increased base cache? CCD redesign?
Here's hoping for changes!
RTX 3080 currently. Holding out for the 5080.
I'm happy with the build I have with the 7600 cpu and 7800 XT. That said I love the continuing coverage you give to this genre.
I'm thinking about getting 7800xt gpu. Not sure what brand tho. Any suggestions?
Just upgraded my rx580 to rx6600xt sapphire nitro+for 189$, it used but i am happy with it
Currently gaming on the rx 7600 on 1440p its great. thanks for the suggestion! i was going to wait until next gen ,but coming from a gtx 1650, im satisfied with the performance.
Still rocking my 3070 years later. It was great at 1440p but now that i got a new 4k monitor it's not quite cutting the mustard. Not planning on getting anything until it's affordable and makes sense so probably no time soon.
at $700 I replaced my open box 6700 XT that I got for $330 last year with a Hellhound 7900 XT - loving it
You running it at 1440 or 4K?
@@jt_7877 1080 :(
Congrats! For more than double the price you get a card that is terrible and supports nothing and is now no longer going to be supported by even their own maker... in just 8 months. AMD stopped making GPU's. :) Research is magical isn't it? shoulda done that first. rich bastard.
@@MrMew Stop talking stupid shit LOL
@@MrMew fake news
Jason! I have waited over 2 years to write this comment. Your channel has helped me so much. My favorite part of your channel is "Should I buy now or wait?" I waited over 2 years and finally bought my GPU! I held onto my GTX1070 since 2017. It served me well for many years. I wanted to upgrade, but leaned from you about the mining days that made GPU prices ridiculous. I waited and waited and waited. The 30 series prices were insane. Mining stopped and for 2 months the prices dropped but then went back up. Buy a used mining GPU was a thing for while. Then the 40 series came out and the price to performance was depressing. I kept learning more and more from you. I watched all your videos for years learning about PC parts and price to performance. Its incredible what I have learned from your channel. I finally bought a Gigabyte AERO 4080 SUPER. I almost bit on the 4070 TI SUPER. I feel like I can get another few years out of this purchase and I am so happy I waited. Should you buy now or wait? I WAITED!... and I am really happy I did. THANK YOU JASON!!!!!!!!
So glad to have helped!! Thank you for letting me know it means a lot
I was going to build a pc this month but now I will wait , maybe 4080 super (if gpu are not announced) with a 9000 amd
Thanks for such an informative video.
So happy you found this one so informative! Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for always keeping us in the know, Jason! Your videos have helped me get A LOT of knowledge on modern parts and current market trends. Can't wait to implent this info into my own part list and the lists I'm making for my friends.
Have a great weekend!
Happy to help! Thank you for watching
Nice. Just note the Boost My Build Submissions are open if you want to put your friends build there.
@@kelley09162 I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the heads up!
in Europe adding the tax and cost of shipping and border taxes we have cards like NVidia 4070 for around 370 dollars... And actually recently we had slight price growth (but around 1-5%)
Hey Jason, again a banger! Im in a massive dilemma - with the microcenter bundle I can get 7700x w/ 4070 ti super OR 7800x3d w/ 7900xt at essentially the same price. This is my first ever PC build and my needs are gaming + streaming and some video editing. I am not sure what to do, I can even go 7800x3d w/ 4070 ti super but then again 7900xt vs 4070 ti super... man I wish there was a simple answer XD
I would say based on your needs the extra chace found in the 7800x3D can be beneficial in gaming, streaming, annd video editing offerings. I believe it offers about 30% gain or more in performance on those needs. So yeah if you are able to get the 7800X3D bundle I would do it. And you will thank yourself for that.
As for the GPU it is tricky. The 7900XT does have 4GB More VRAM (20GB) and performs a little faster than the RTX 4070TI super in Raterzation. However it loses in Ray Tarcing and video encoding technology along with AI features.
So if you were just gaming I would pick the 7900XT hands down. But because you also want to do video editing and streaming apparently Nvidia still has better encoding technology’s (AMD is catching up but Nivdia is still better)
I would say if you are a serious video editor and streamer I would recommend the RTX 4070TI super. Otherwise if you do it ounce in a while then the 7900XT.
Pretty much what I’m saying is that if you want the best streaming and video editing experience than Nivdia is better at that.
7800X3D for sure, from there either GPU is a great choice.
Yeah pretty much. The GPU can still be tricky as Nivdia does have the better encoder and features for streaming and editing. AMD has been catching up.
That’s why I was asking if he is serious about doing it.
If he wanted the best experience and does it constantly, Nivdia is the better choice.
However if he does it ounce in a while and is okay with not having the best of the best and make some compromises here and there than AMD has a solid offer and is actually the better value.
Think of it like this a Toyota car and a Kia Car. Both cars will get the job done but the Toyota car will have better experience and quality despite the Kia car having better value.
It's hard to articulate how good and useful your "current market situation' summaries are, thanks for your great videos!
So glad you've found them useful! You're so welcome :)
Great prices if you live in America anywhere else and you are ******.
In South Africa the RX 7900 GRE is $850 and the RTX 4070 Super is $900.
Great to see all the prices dropping to around the prices they should be at.
Good to see some progress!
Loving my 4060ti 16gb in my new am5 build. It's playing everything on high to ultra settings on my big screen 65 inch 1440p. Over 100fps.
you arent going to run new games with that card at 4k and over 100 fps...
@Trikipum that was never the plan lol. 1440 gaming all I need. Sorry forgot to mention I'm only playing 1440p
Salad User here:
-I actually started using it back in December from seeing an advert. I WAS rocking an: Rx580 8gb , Ryzen 5500 and 16gb of 3200mts ram.
-It took me like 2 months to earn £2. I had my pc on for easily 12hrs + 5/7 days in a week.
-When i double my ram a few weeks ago and got a cpu aftermarket cooler, I've now earned ~£4 in 3 weeks.
-TLDR: like the guides say, and Jason said: a bigger GPU helps!!
PS. Jason in the U.K there is a nice 650w tier C psu called the - Gigabyte p650b. I have it, and i like it 😁.
Thanks for sharing!
Built a new PC today, it was my first time installing windows and dealing with system bios. Your video was incredibly helpful and I wanna say thanks! One issue I ran into though was when I tried to install windows it was trying to force me to connect to internet to set up, but I don’t think my motherboard had Lan or wifi drivers installed yet so I was stuck in a loop. I don’t know if I done something wrong but followed your steps in your video, I wonder if updating the bios first removed any pre installed drivers ? or maybe my motherboard didn’t come with them (asus rog strix b650e-f). Took me awhile and some searching to figure a bypass by accessing cmdprmt but maybe its something to keep in mind if you ever do an updated version of that video lol! Im not hating here just trying to give some feedback and say thanks again 🙂
I would have done either bypassing it by pressing shift+f10 on the windows setup screen and then press OOBE\BYPASSNRO or install the lan drivers before hand and install them. Honestly I believe bypassing it is easier as it will find the driver automatically nowadays. After you install windows then install the lan driver form asus
I think the real kicker is whether or not any announcements at computex will end up driving prices of GPUs down. If the 5080 comes in at $1000, that's going to push down the value of the 4080, and will have a domino effect on the rest of the lineup, including the 4070 Ti Super which right now seems like the best bang for the buck. I'd say even upper midrange buyers should wait. Great video
A7800XT would suit my needs fine, but even at $455(cheapest I can find it) it's too expensive for me, it needs to come down to $375 or preferably down to $282 in order to match price to performance of my current A750.
6800xt is a good value if you can find it. Got one last year for 439 and it’s been a great card for 1440 144hz
Bought a 3070 2 years ago. Decent card but so many games have required more VRam than 8 gig. Wont make the same mistake this time with the 4070 Super with only 12g....Going AMD this time either 7800XT or 7900GRE
How is the single slot market doing for gpu?
My Power Color Red Devil 7900xtx is holding pretty rock steady where it's always sat.
The Red Devil XTX is such a mean looking card. I wanted one but got a deal on a Sapphire Nitro I couldn't pass up.
@@jskop566 I was looking at the Sapphire Nitro model because it clocked slightly faster than all the other board partner versions but it was sold out. I love the look of the Red Devil, too. I was a little torn putting it in a water block because the cooler design is great.
Looking to upgrade from a 6700xt to the 7900GRE this is great news!
That should be a good upgrade for you
I'm considering updating from my 3090 but given the prices and current performance of other cards, feels like I can still wait. I use my PC for some light work and mostly gaming. Not sure what to do and these price drops look good.
I would seriously advise waiting another generation or two. The 3090 is still a massively powerful card and unless you are on a bleeding edge system like 4k 240hz or something approaching that you have the luxury of waiting.
Something to keep in mind is that we need to see if Nvidia has truly fixed the power plug issues with the 5000 series cards and beyond or if it needs more work.
A great video, big thanks
Thank you, glad you enjoyed this one. Hope you keep enjoying the content! :D
when COST/USE is going to get calculated? ^^
im seeing a 4090 for 1500-1600 in the uk, but imma get a 4070 super when it goes down, rn its steady and not dropping
i wanted a 4070 ti super but its like 10% preformance, and 4gb more vram for £250 more which i dont really have but if i had the money i would get the 4080 super if i could but 4070 super can play all the games i want in 1440p at good frames so imma stick to it
I am plannning to upgrade from a 2600x and GTX 1080 to a 5800X3D + 7900 GRE, at £800 for both on 1440p 120hz its a no brainer to max out that AM4 for at least another 4 years!
Hey man I haven't built myself a PC since 2015, but the last few years I've been dying to build again and get back into gaming. You videos have always been my go to for keeping myself up to date with the pricing and just wanted to say thank you for providing such great in depth content! I know you said in the video that most don't care for the used price updates but thank you for continuing to include them! After a couple of weeks I managed to snag a 6900xt for a great price and feel more than confident that it was a great purchase! Really love you content man and just had to say thank you for helping me get back into the scene
Thank you so much, we love to hear that! Congrats on the buy, and thanks so much for your support. So glad you're enjoying the content, and welcome back! :)
recently purchased the RTX 4060 graphics card and have been disappointed by the negative feedback it has received from some CZcamsrs. However, I find it confusing why I should consider buying the previous generation card like the RTX 3060 when both cards are priced similarly. In my opinion, the RTX 4060 offers better overall performance, especially for 1080p gaming. VRAM is not necessarily the most important factor to consider when choosing a graphics card
Additionally, considering its DLSS3 capabilities, it provides excellent value for a $300 card.
Here is my full build:
- Ryzen 5 5600 processor
- RTX 4060 graphics card
- 16GB RAM clocked at 3200MHz
- WD Blue SN580 SSD 1TB
- GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2 motherboard
- Seasonic 550W power supply with 80+ Gold
- DeepCool C560 V2 tower case
The total cost of this build was less than $700. Overall, I am satisfied with the price-to-performance ratio that this setup offers.
If you're happy that's the important thing!
I just got the 4070 ti super last night at 860 after tax, hope i didnt make a mistake, since people keep telling me i can't combine 2 gpus in 1 pc, and i eventually want to get a top of the line gpu.
That card will be very good for a long time. Some people say that’s the highest an average consumer should consider and anything more is enthusiast tier as well as not being worth the price premium. You made a great choice!
You can't combine 2 GPUs no. That is a top of the line GPU.
Thank you for the consistent content man. I use this channel as a guide, I don't make any purchases until I've checked in to see what you have to say about it. Reliable and your attitude is infectious. I trust you. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for supporting the channel! It really means a lot to know it’s helpful and I truly appreciate it!!
7900 GRE has been amazing so far, I would highly recommend it!
Im waiting for at least one more price drop on the 7900xtx to replace my 2070 super. Its definitely struggling in 1440p with some of the newest games.
6800 was 340 a few days ago
Did not follow your advice and got a 4090 incl. water block for 1500 EUR :-) Can't Imagine the 5080 offering a better price/ performance this year.
yeah another pc builder video \o/
Upgraded to a r7 3700x about 12 months ago to pair with my now old 1080ti, been thinking of upgrading late this year or early next year, prices in Australia are insane, and wanting to go ITX this time so hard to find which card will be good value for me and not overheat as well. Been thinking a 7900 GRE or a 4070 super, something there that’ll last me a long time and be able to utilise new technologies in games and that. Out of cost I’d hope to keep the cpu I have as upgrading that as well will cost a lot but at the same time I can get more from my pc reselling it as complete bar storage… not sure what to do yet! Any advice?
You will need to upgrade that CPU before dropping in a GPU of that size. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more on bottlenecking and how to think about your upgrades
The 4070 Ti Super you recommended is great for me!
so glad!
Honestly wish I could do this
7900XT in Australia is still new for $1100-$1200 so im waiting and waiting before I can get into 4k Gaming. Still squeezing the life out of my 2070 super, its struggling with my 5800x3D now as my main game at 1440p is giving this card a hard time to hang around 100fps and fans running full speed.
You could always get the 7900GRE. I see it's $900 on PC Part Picker Australia so it's still expensive but not as much as the 7900XT.
7900 GRE seems like a great buy imo.
What I would love to see is a viable and available ARM CPU for the PC enthusiast market. I know, that is like asking for a holodeck. X86 compatibility has to be there or people like me will never touch it because I'm not going to lose my 300+ game Steam library.
One minute into math class and I see Jason posted. You just single handedly saved the day! Much love!
😂
Wish Daniel Owen could see this lol
Im looking at getting a 7800xt gpu. Not sure what brand to go with. Any suggestions?
Check out our Best GPU for Gaming 2024 video for more on differences between models, its doesn't matter much at that level
great advice as always, ill be upgrading from 6750xt w 5900x to 7900xtx w 7800x3d
dude, skip zen 4. Zen 5 is right around the corner. Wait for the mobo reset and whatever new x3d cache wonderchip gets released
xfx rx 6750xt for 299$ but the also have rx 6800 for 359$. Is the 6800 worth the 60$ more?
I upgraded my 1070 some time ago when the super series or 7800xt had not yet been released. I felt like i had to upgrade to something to play Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk DLC. I bought an Asus 4070 dual oc. It is ok for now, but somehow i feel like now i have to upgrade sooner next time from this card maybe even already at the 5000 series. I bought Nvidia because i like to stay in the familiar. Also i value power consumption, and for some reason i feel like an Nvidia card is more reliable. Nvidia got me on this one.
Love my 7900xt!
Watching all the high end, looking at the 24g VRAM then I remembered I've only got a 60 Hz TV for monitor.
High refresh 1440p monitors are 200 dollars...
(;
Which should i buy this is Australian pricing
USED $650-700 AUD MSi Gaming z trio RTX 3080 10GB or
NEW $800 AUD PNY Verto RTX 4070 12gb
4070 because of the VRAM
Depends on your budget and build needs but Id go for more VRAM if you can
@@PCBuilderChannel i got $500 Aud or $333 USD atm but wondering if its worth saving an extra couple months for 2gb vram im running a 2560x1440p 170hz monitor and mostly wanna play on high settings just upgraded my i7-6700k to a 7800x3d and 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ddr5 at xmas and now looking to upgrade my 1080ti which i hope to sell for about $150-200 aud aka $99-132 USD based on ebay sales to help fund the upgrade which should give me just enough to buy my mates 3080 but is it worth passing on and save 2-3 months for a 4070 instead?
I just found your channel and I am so impressed with your knowledge and advice especially since I am in the process of putting together a mid-range AMD build playing at 1440. I do have a question if you or anyone is willing to answer. I can get a new RX 6800 XT. Is there a reason to choose an RX 7800 XT or 7900 GRE over theR6X 6800 XT? I know the 7000 series is their latest offers but from what I have researched the 6800 series is really good for 1440 gaming and a number of instances outperforms the 7800 XT. Thanks and new sub.
@bocconom the 7800xt has av1 encoding and is roughly 5% faster with lower power consumption (you should be undervolting these cards anyways). The 7900 GRE is on a on par with the 6950xt or the 3080ti before overclock.
@@aarongee8146 Thanks for your reply. It has been awhile since building a system for myself. So how difficult is it to OC the GRE? Thanks again.
Depends if you need AV1 encoding, if not 6800XT is a good choice too
i have a question: Currently Im using b660 Tomahawk and 13500 but I want to upgrade the cpu to 13700k. Can this b660 Tomahawk handle this 13700k? Im not interesting in OC anything, just auto and normal plug and play.
I'm still debating on getting either the 7900xtx/xt or saving some money and just getting the 7900gre.
Pairing with my i9-13900k. (Wish I had know the issues before I bought this in early 2023) Also trying to finally let rest my EVGA 1070 FTW.
Was thinking of the 4080 super, but they need to be around 800 for me to send it 😅
Good one, as usual.
Much appreciated! Thank you for watching, hope you keep enjoying the content ;)
Jason, I have a question. Do you think PC parts have been getting cheaper over the years I mean like have brand new parts been getting cheaper each generation of those parts?
Yes, see my latest Q&A video for more on this
Hey Jason, I have a question. What would be the best color accurate monitor for 1080p/2k/4k gaming/editing. I heard BenQ is good but I don’t know what to look for
Well what resolution Monitor are you looking for? 4K?
@kelley09162 I'm looking for a 1080p/2K monitor. I only included 4k as an option since people nowadaysonly care for 2k/4k. As for games, I don't game much. When I do it's Minecraft/Madden/City Skylines/Fallout New Vegas. That's it.
@@mr.peanutbutterbear9232 I forgot to ask in that message what your budget is for this Monitor?
@kelley09162 for a 1080p up too $300 for a 2k it would be up to $500
@@mr.peanutbutterbear9232 then the MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2 would be a good choice. Because it's a QD Monitor Colors should be really good on it.
sitting here in my hotel room on my travel rig playing Overwatch 2 and watching this using my 6700XT Fighter
intel better not cancel their discrete gpus, if alchemist was this good than battlemage and celestial should be even better bangers
Still using my EVGA 1080TI FTW3 just fine. Waiting on the 7800xt or the 7900 GRE to be cheaper. They are $80-$100 too expensive. Also, there aren't many new titles that are demanding I want to play anyways.
Nah. It's fair to me. If you want to pay more for less vram and performance then there's the 4070 $530, 4070 S $600, 4070 Ti $740.
What do you think about the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti? 770 € here in Germany, It’s much more expensive than in the US.
Not worth it because there are other cheaper 4070 Ti's when I look at PC Part Picker Germany.
Also the 4070 Ti Super is better if you can afford it but I see the price difference in Germany is decent so the 4070 Ti is perfectly fine.
That brand is fine but are you sure there aren't cheaper models or that a 4070 super or 7900XT wouldn't fit your needs for cheaper?
I found a crazy deal yesterday for a 3050, literally bought it for 150 and used a $25 dollar credit I had.
i desperately need new gpu but im gonna hold and hope 5000 series will hopefully offer more value
Value will depend on your market of course of remember your time has value too
I dont have any Gpu yet :( lol, spent all money over a year to build the best pc i could with I9-13900ks only for 14900k to come out right after. I'm waiting this one out and getting 5080 or 5090.
Let’s go Jason!!! #CatDads!!! Thank you for everything you do!
Thank you!!! :)
Is a 4070 Super worth it? It depends, if you play mostly just FPS games like BF (and especially COD) I'd get the 6800xt, but if you want to play AAA single player games the RTX starts to make more sense.
I’m planning on my first ever build and wanted 4k. I was looking the 4070 ti super or the 4080 super. Is it better to hold off for now? Any other tips on building would be great I’m very green.
Why not an AMD GPU or do you care about Ray Tracing?
Totally up to you, check how the "should you buy now or wait" section at the end for my thoughts on this
Stick with the 4070TI super the 4080 super is 20% more expensive and you only gain 2-4% more performance.
Also if you are gaming AMD is the better value especially the 7900XT going for around $650.
I’m waiting till next generation is out and I will snatch up a 7900xtx for 600 on eBay or fb.
Just ordered a brand new pc set, i9 14900k, RTX 4070 Ti Super, MSI B760, Team Delta 4x16GB ram, etc for $2700, hope it will be worth it.
Just note the 14900K has been having issues and Jason doesn't recommend it. The 14700K would have been better.
@@kelley09162 After some googling it seems that the issues with 14900k are quite common. Still waiting for the shipment, but thanks for the note. After reading some threads on reddit, I think I will need to tweak the setting before running into troubles.
Keep an eye on the 14900K for sure, and I'd double check this pc has the right power and cooling for it
Hi Jason, I was going to check if I should go for an ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7600 XT 16GB OC instead of the Intel Arc A750 8GB or ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 12GB OC V2 (LHR) ? I mostly play Supermarket Simlator, Farming Simulator 17 & 19 and like the Forest Destiny 2, World of Warcraft and Euro Truck Simulator 2 or do you have other suggestions, i have not money to go for 40 series of nvidia.
So 7600XT or A770 would be good for you.
I don't recommend ASUS though. Gamer Nexus posted a video showing how ASUS scammed them so unless something changes I'll no longer be recommending ASUS products
@@kelley09162 i have always bought asus throu all years and have no problem, i have asus only in my computer i built.
Sounds like you should check out our new Best Budget Builds 2024 video to help you decide what you need
I think it is a mistake that the 2080ti (11G) cards are not included in the 1440p list. I game at 1440 with a 3080ti and I seldom see the card actually using over 11g.
Yeah I argee. The RTX 2080TI is still a decent GPU. It’s basically an RTX 3070 but with more VRAM. It also cosumes 30 watts more than the 3070 which is not too bad either.
Also I see them going for around $200 used which makes them a decent value.
Hey, need some advice. I'm building a PC very soon, first upgrade in a long time. I'm gonna build a 7900xtx paired with a 7800x3d. There's a really good sale on Amazon on the 7800x3d right now, but I live close to a microcenter. The microcenter regularly does a bundle for the 7800x3d (or any amd CPU really) with mobo and ram for 450-500 dollars. Is this too good to be true, or am I missing something? The ram and mobo of the bundle are pretty bad but you can swap them out and still get the discount of the CPU. Is this just unbeatable and the kind of thing people love to live near microcenter for?
Pick one bundle:
$330 5800X3D
$380 7700X
$480 7800X3D
Go with the Microcenter bundle and the Motherboard and RAM it comes with aren't bad so no reason to switch those.
@@kelley09162 I researched the RAM a little more and it's actually perfectly fine RAM. So it's mostly about the MOBO, and i can get b650 or x670e for good prices, as long as the specific models aren't too crappy. That aside, yeah it definitely seems so worth it to get the bundle. Thanks
@@anonymoose2474 so that Gigabyte MOBO is comes with is perfectly fine. Jason just doesn't talk about it because on it's own it's price isn't great.
You can switch it if you want, but I don't see a reason to.
Also Jason says X670E isn't worth the extra money over B650.
Often Microcenter has great bundles. Check out our 7800X3D build guide if you want to go in knowing what you need to know
What gpu would you recommend if I have a
Ryzen 7 7800x3d
MSI MPG X670E Carbon WiFi Gaming Motherboard
Ddr5 Corsair dominator titanium 6600

I’ll make it easy for you.
The best overall paring with that CPU which offers a nice balance is either the AMD 7900XT 20GB or Nivdia RTX 4070TI super 16GB
If however you would like the best pairing and money isn’t a factor then I would go with either The RTX 4090 or the AMD 7900XTX. It will work very well with it.
Personally AMD is better value, but if you value Nivdia Fetaures then spend a little more on it. I personally don’t care about Nivdia DLSS and Raytarcing as it ruins the experience through high latency.
