Hi Phil, nice bit of back country river, good choice in your presentation. We have been fishing the T in a few pools below the Blue and found that the naturals in #14 are taking quite well but the wind is very gusty. Tight lines, see you on the river. Harera
Thanks Piere! Yea i don't usually go much larger than #14 at this time of year! The wind was awful today! Luckily I was working not fishing!

Hey, I'm looking to do a hike / fishing trip in the north island. Ideally hike up a river and camp in a hut or doco site, fishing along the way. Do you have any recommendations. Potentially even helicopter in, walk out. Cheers

Kia ora! I'm from Denmark and currently in quarantine waiting to get out and dreaming of fishing the north island. Do you have any recommendations of where to go? Nice! I'm surprised you got here! Are you a citizen? Yea sure I'd recommend visiting Turangi which is the home of the Tongariro River. Once your their visit local shops such as the Creel Tackle and Sporting Life who will be more than happy to help you further!
