The producers of M3GAN and The Black Phone bring the terrifying horror game phenomenon to life as a blood-chilling film. Recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of his little sister, Mike agrees to take a position as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. But Mike soon discovers that nothing at Freddy's is what it seems. Mike's nights at Freddy's will lead him into unexplainable encounters with the supernatural and drag him into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare.

I like how Raglan's entire demeanor changes when he reads "Schmidt" and realizes who he's talking to; Matthew Lillard's performance in this film was great. Hopefully he shows up more in the sequel

josh hutcherson did an excellent job portraying the guilt-ridden depressed mike schmidt. he made it easy for the viewers to feel connected to mike and be emphatic to the struggles that he faces in life.
mike is a very fleshed out character, and that's the one thing i could absolutely commend the fnaf film for, alongside the beautiful sound design, crafty camerawork, breathtaking cinematography and well-made animatronics.

The intro for this movie was not just the only scene that was "scary" but probably the closet to the original atmosphere of the game compared to the rest of the film. As for the five nights at Freddy’s movie I really liked it
Man, the way William afton first pretended to be kind just broke me, loved it
I had never played a single fnaf game before going to see this movie, but it made me a fan almost overnight. I had no idea that a game series about getting killed by chuck e. cheese would have SO MUCH LORE! And as someone not knowing much about the games beforehand, I really liked that a lot of things weren't explained and I really liked that I didn't feel pandered to. The fact that this movie wasn't made for someone who hadn't played the games made me want to play them, because I could feel how much love was poured into it. It was such a contrast from the rest of Hollywood, which keeps remaking and adapting stories in ways that feel disrespectful towards fans of the original work.
Anyway, almost immediately after watching this movie I binge watched all of Matpat's fnaf theories up to security breach and I played the first game for the first time (I got killed in night 2). Now I have made it my mission to play every single fnaf game and experience the hidden lore for myself. I am absolutely devastated that I never gave Five Nights at Freddy's a try until now. But I guess it's better late than never.
