    Hey Justin! Been spearfishing here on Oahu for about 2 years now but we recently got some guns. I love your videos and find them super useful! It’d be great if you could post a video talking about how to read the winds and surf around the island because I’m still having a hard time understanding how it all works together. Maybe even the geography around the island as well, I know it would be beyond helpful for me! Mahalo 🤙🏽

    Double wrapped 75 with twin 16mm and a 6.5mm shaft you’ll get the speed and power of the 90 and same distance as a single wrapped 90 less length and more agile it’s the way to go give it a shot !

    I live in Japan, I want to get a speargun but I'm not sure if I should get a 75 or a 90. I only plan to swim off the beach and not far, basically around some structure off the beach where some grouper fish hang out. Plz advise. I'm looking at an omer invictus rex 75 or a voodoo open rail 85.. which do you think would suit my needs. I'm also not to tall, I'm only 5'6.

I was looking to buy a 90 but ended up getting a 100 cause had one good deal, it's a good medium. Would you suggest a 90 or 75 for more shallow dives being that I already get one 100? Thanks.

      @fishguy6487 manners are unique from locale to locale. If you've never traveled outside of somewhere that shares your same culture, you wouldn't know. Some things that are perfect manners in your culture may be rudely offensive to those in another culture. Knowing what is important to the locale you are visiting is very important when traveling...

      it's not just about getting a speargun, you HAVE TO KNOW YOUR PREY AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS . Any fish you think you couldn't think you could get with your three prong, i've taken out with a 3 prong., GT(86 lb) kahala' ,uku, mu ,large uhu, kumu, moana kali.omilu etc. not bragging, just learn the characteristics of what you're try to spear.ask any kamaina spear fisherman.

    Nice helpful video, good information. I am an older guy who really does not like buying things twice. I have been doing some research separately from this new video of yours and I had come to a decision on which gun I thought would be best for me. This new video just reinforced my decision. I have never liked buying and then upgrading so my current choice is the Koah 90cm roller gun. Plenty of power for longer shots but can still shoot the holes/caves for menpachi etc by only loading the secondary kicker band. What do you think?
    Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Mahalo

    What’s up man! Awesome video, I have a question. Currently I’m using a 90cm pneumatic gun( measured from the very back of the handle to the tip of the muzzle). I’ve caught many fish on it, but I find it awfully tedious and difficult to properly line up a shot due to the big round cylinder-like tube shape of the pneumatic guns. It seems to block my view of the fish. I’ve been thinking about getting a gun with rubbers as you can see the shaft, therefore making it easier put a shot where you want it. I was curious however; should I get a smaller rubber gun or one that’s the same size as my pneumatic gun? Is it logical to say that a smaller gun with rubbers would be weaker than a longer gun? P.S. I’m diving in and around shores and close reefs. Thanks a lot if you see this :)

    • @FishandDiveHawaii

      @uoj4840 Před 4 lety +1

      Fish and Dive Hawaii thanks a bunch for noticing my comment and replying - if you don’t mind answering this question; do smaller guns have less punch due to the rubbers not being able to come as far back - or are the rubbers smaller and more punchy as you move down in size?

    • @FishandDiveHawaii
      @FishandDiveHawaii  Před 4 lety +1

      Behbeh Stafford cheap is a relative term. I havent had to get new bands for a long time. I probably spend $40 for a set of 9/16 bands. You can make your own but you need to know what youre doing. Your bands can last forever if you take care of them. My bands will last most of the year because you store them in a ziplock in the fridge. Fridge keeps them from getting brittle and breaking down.
