There should’ve been a character select for the levels at after you finish the game. NG3 Razors Edge did that masterfully
yeah it ALMOST gets there because you can do all the optional missions with whichever character. It's weird because you can refight almost everything that Bayonetta fights as Viola in the side missions, but i wonder if there were just some parts that don't work as viola?? Then again DMC5 didn't even do that either, but it works fine with the mod.
Yeah. This what kinda makes me upset. I really don't want to play as Viola. I prefer Bayo or Jeanne.

Took me some time to warm up to it, but the same happened with 2 (which is my current favorite). Looking forward to replaying this one on higher difficulties, as I really grow to appreciate Bayonetta games once I'm forced to really dig into the mechanics.

Good review, but I wish it talked a bit more about the technical issues it mentioned. It feels like the review just said that there were technical issues, without really showing how bad they got
Performance is about the same level as the Wii U version of Bayonetta 2. Where it hovers between 40fps to 60fps.

I was gonna replay Bayo 1 and 2 before playing this but honestly I really just want to dive in to bayo 3!!!!
Great review as always! Bayo 2 is still my favorite but this game still rocks in it's own way.
I never really replayed sections when I played Bayo 1 and 2 but for some reason with three I feel very compelled to does anybody else feel that way?

These series and DmC series are like almost the same, but different. Right?
Yes, since they are both hack'n slash. But still very diferent, i would dare to say DMC is more traditional. Bayonetta's core mechanic is dodge offset, its a constant exchange of attack+dodge, its works very smoothtly at the point it blends in the combat and becomes what we like to say, a dance.

I would also add, the "technical shortcomings m" were a non-issue in my playthrough. When framerate is 50+ and doesn't have any sharp changes it's hard to notice anything. Felt extremely smooth, barring 1 or 2 instances I can recall, but even those were just brief micro stutters over in the blink of an eye.
Never played these games but if I recall, the PS3 version of Bayo 1 was very troublesome technically. Seems like WiiU's Bayo 2 was the only one that launched without tech flaws seeming like a big deal. Hopefully Platinum gets better at optimizing as their style looks awesome but obviously demanding.
The 360 port of Bayo 1 didn't have the technical problems the PS3 version did.
bayo 1 worked bad only on ps3 it was perfect on xbox360 pc ps4 and switch

Why are so many of the reviews coming out way later than they used too, went from a few days post release to a few weeks
Possibly they didn't got review copies or they just want to take their time and post the review after they completed the game.
I'm not going to feel comfortable giving this one a final review until I've gotten platinum rank on each level at least. And let's just say--that's gonna take some time! 😋
Just beat the game. Easily the best action game of all time, bar none, game is a masterpiece and one of the finest games of the generation. Loved the ending too. Idk if ppl are smoking crack or jamming dope, but that was one heck of a 🔥 ending
I loved the game. The story and ending was very bleak for a game that don't take itself serious at times. Solid 9 in my book n I hope there is dlc for story content.
Honestly a 9.5 for me, would be my GOTY if not for ragnarok. Loved the combat, loved the summons, Didn’t like viola as a character but LOVED her gameplay. Jeanne’s side missions were amazing, she reminded me of faye from cowboy bebop. Had very little complaints, hope there is dlc
I liked it alot too its definitely in my top 5.
But elden ring, god of war and xenoblade 3 all beat it out for me. Still incredible, just pretty steap competition this year.

I'm pretty much of the same opinion i would only add the game is a little ugly. To the point it doe sorta take away from the spectacle of everything. I actually dont mind performance just wish it looked on par with 2 or at least came close, but im happy the game still rocks. Maybe a remaster on the next nintendo console perhaps.

Both Bayonetta 1 and 2 had you back tracking a ton or you may miss challenges. Most of these are linear now and harder to miss.
Loved the game but Bayo 2 is clearly superior to me. This is held back by the Switch and has the weakest plot of the 3 games. Summoning demons is amazing but it can often lead to a lot of nonsense on screen. Bayo 2 is action perfection
2:13 Sorry to nitpick, but wouldn't the fact you have complete control over the demons mean that they *are* "mindless beasts"? Since your will is overriding theirs? Or am I misunderstanding something?
I’m gonna be honest, I did not experience frame rate issues. I’m 99% sure my experience was at 60fps the whole way through. It was the smoothest Bayonetta experience ever to me
I wish I could like any of the Bayonetta games but I just can't. Progressively less enjoyable to me each time
I'm disappointed with my purchase.... I was really looking forward to it, but it just doesn't live up to the previous entries, imo. I wish I could get my money back and put it towards something else. Too much dialogue... weirdly broken up levels... and combat feels like a step backwards. I thought the demon summoning would be cool, and it was at first. However they are so strong that there is no reason to not use them constantly and you will need to in order to meet certain challenge requirements. This detracts from the game, since I want to play / fight as Bayonetta, not a giant demon Kaiju.
PS. Also I'm spoiled by my PS5 cuz the game looks bad and runs bad, imo.

I know you guys are super busy, but why should I watch this over say IGNs review when you both have similar lukewarm takes but theirs is faster?
Im not trying to give you guys a hard time, but I just feel like I didnt gain anything new from watching this idk.
The game came out a couple weeks ago in a very stacked month. I'd argue this is still very much "the game's release period." It's not as if we published a review for Portal 2 today.
IGN is one of the biggest media outlets on the planet with resources for a large, focused writing staff and the ability to hire freelancers when that is not enough. We have four staff members who write reviews, in addition to numerous other responsibilities.
IGN got the game sometime before launch and were able to publish before launch. We were not given the game until launch day, and Brad prioritized the Sonic review instead, which we did get early and we did publish a review for at the earliest possible moment. We also did publish our initial thoughts on Bayonetta 3 within a few days after we got it. So it's not as if we left it with no form of coverage to gauge what we were thinking.
If you think it would have been a great review a couple weeks ago, there's no reason to think it's not a great review now. Compared to most of our videos, this review is doing quite well, and it has already exceeded the views of the first impressions video we did earlier. Not everyone is able to get every game the second it comes out, and there are plenty of people who watch reviews later, even months or years after we publish them. They want to find out what we thought, simply because they value our opinion. And as for directly answering your question, that's essentially what it comes down to. You would watch our review because you want to know what we think and you enjoy the attention we put into writing and video.
Just as importantly, we value crafting reviews, and we thought it was a game worth reviewing. If the bar was only to review a game when we can get it out at or before launch, we would almost never review any Nintendo games due to their distribution policies or multiplayer games because they're often lacking features before they go public. -Bloodworth

Regarding my comment, I realise this may sound rude, but as a viewer I dont really care why the review was later than other outlets.
I just hoped that you would take into consideration the fact that viewers may have already seen other reviews at this point, and maybe chose to add additional insight other outlets may have overlooked.
Sure, I understand that perspective, and it is something I've personally tried to be purposeful about with games like GT 7 and Splatoon 3 which had special multiplayer events post launch or significant issues or updates that weren't visible during the early review period. If the review is going to come a bit later anyways, then, I actually do want to spend some extra time on things that weren't available before launch. In some cases, we simply won't publish a review early if we feel like we need to wait and see how important aspects of the game shake out after it's public.
That said, a review is still about putting our own thoughts on the page, and we're going to say what we think is important to say about the game, whether or not that might be similar or different from what another reviewer has already said. -Bloodworth
This game is a 6 for me. The demon combat was cool at first, but it lacks depth compared to playing as Bayo. It's flashy, but way too simplistic. I didn't like Viola at all, or the Jeanne sections. I did enjoy the story, though, even though I would have liked more background around the main bad guy. The low point in the series, in my opinion.

EZA lost two reviewers that have not been replaced, its winter so we are getting way more games, and that means the remaining are pulling the bulk and probably doing extra review work.
@@bobbymaycry9748 Yeah... I'm worried for EZA and its fans. I don't think they are doing too well financially. I've been here since day 1 supporting them through Patreon & Twitch... but if they are still around in another year I'll be surprised. Quality content fell off when they lost Bosman but was still great. But the loss of Ben M. was a big loss.
I like the rest of the gang, but it feels like their heart isn't in it anymore... or maybe they're just spread too thin now and tired.
They are now adding tiers on Patreon asking for $100 + /mo. just to have a message read during the podcast... *smh* It feels gross and desperate.
At this point the only content I watch of theirs is the Podcasts, Hall of Greats & Reactions.
Why aren't they doing more fun things like Achieve It Yourself more often? It seems like a relatively easy thing to produce. Heck... just do it live on Twitch.

@@m.collier708 Nah I feel you, left Patreon myself because times are tough and had to think elsewhere, my goal was always to eventually offer funding again but if it's that bad? I guess we'll see.
I found a lot of content after Bossman fine, for me Ben was the deal breaker but I still enjoy some of the content, I'm just not a streaming viewer usually so I either have them on out of boredom while I work, or just wait till they have a show going down; HoG, MM, etc.
I don't know what the future holds for EZA, all I can do is wish them luck and hope they continue to provide solid content.

Did this channel just give Baonetteta 3 a 8 out of 10! WHAT!!!!! Why dont we give every horrible game in the wall mart bargain bin a 8 out of 10? I spent full price on this game, to my horror it had bad low quality graphics, bland boring blocky ps 2 levels, and boring repetitive enemies, I am so unhappy with this game! NO 8 out 10!!!! 3 out of 10!!!
The playstation 2 comes to switch! With bayonetta 3! This review is false, the game is boring , and I beat much of it by hitting the attact button, with out even looking at the screen, I went into the bath room, and kitchen, spamming attact button, and beat these demons, this guy needs to stop reviewing games, this game is very bad, please do not waist your money! A dream cast game looks better than this game holy crap! Very boring bland levels , final score 3 out of 10!
