    Your two finishes were topical,like table tops. When you’re doing the side of a desk or side of a jewelry box, will the finish run or slump between coats.?

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  Před 11 měsíci

      No not if you do the technique is used on the second one. Were you just use just enough to coat and build it up with multiple layers?

  • @celticcraps
    @celticcraps Před 11 měsíci

    No sanding between coats.. that's pretty damn awesome. B E A Uuuu Tiful boards my man. For really large table tops, what kind of working time do you have before it starts setting up and showing the brush strokes worse?

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  Před 11 měsíci

      If I did a 4 1/2 x 7’ dining table with brushing and rolling. That’s about the maximum I would do. Anything bigger than that I would resort to spraying. The open times about 15 or 20 minutes.

    • @celticcraps
      @celticcraps Před 11 měsíci

      @@AGlimpseInside thanks. I did a big oval 8' table top for a race track poker table. It was a real bear. Multiple multiple coats, sanding, etc and finally buffed with car glazing products. Still had a little haze that I wasn't happy with. Was another self leveling product but would get tacky fairly quick. Have to try this next time I tackle something big or small.

    Why do all wood finishing videos only show how to apply finishes to flat horizontal surfaces? Easy peasy with self leveling finishes. Try something a little more challenging like the base those beautiful tops attach to. Vertical legs and skirts don't self level. They drip and run. That's where we need some expert advice.
    Cheers.

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  Před 11 měsíci

      Challenge accepted. Although vertical surfaces are extremely tough with this technique typically you would revert to an HVLP spraying system. I was going to spray the table and made with these two pieces but I think now I’ll actually give it a go by hand.!!

  • @TexasUrbanSawmillLLC
    @TexasUrbanSawmillLLC Před 11 měsíci

    Good video but product is not anything special and is honestly overpriced. It looks like and performs like just like many modern water based finishes out there. It is a product specific to the marine industry so it might have an advantage of being more flexible but that will compromise the hardness of the coating. Honesty, there are better products for woodworkers that do not cost as much. And good luck trying to use a non-spray waterborne on a large surface like a dining table! Another downside of this system.
