Making sure to lubricate all pieces.
This was an honor to work on this tool and would love to restore another if the opportunity comes up again.

Thanks for the video! I am restoring an Atlas Craftsman 101-03662 drill press and you are a great source of information!
Awesome! Would love to see the results of your restore. Glad I could help! 👍🏻
Don’t forget to check out my blog on this build as well : www.scwd.us/2022/01/18/1945-atlas-drill-press-model-73/
Not even 1000 Views?!? the production on these three videos was great, and the finished product is GORGEOUS. just picked one of these drill presses up myself and these videos are going to be such a great resource!
I was surprised too. I might be late to the game, but I’m glad it’s helpful to those restoring these great presses. Thanks for the comment!
@@SCWD_US Hopefully the algorithm picks up on this soon and you get some more attention. Even those without a drill press of their own would really enjoy watching your restorations, ive seen plenty of other channels do less thorough restorations and garner more attention. And youre so clear on why and whats going on, its awesome
@@brenturk22 thank you. I try….
Excellent video. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much!
Awesome restoration!!!
Thank you!
Excellent video, thank you for sharing. I’m picking one up tomorrow, with the intention of replacing the low quality import drill press I currently use.
Cheers
Kevin
Thank you sir! If I can be any assistance please let me know.
I have the bench top version of this press an I love it.
Awesome! Love old stuff! So much better.
@SCWoodDesigns I hate to bug you but what did you repurpose for a bumper? I trolled garage journal but I've come up empty!
I’m sorry I missed this comment. I was given a semi new bumper in It’s place by a member called Frank Lee. Very resourceful and nice guy.
Beautiful restoration sir. I'm trying to find something similar to restore myself, but these old drills are very difficult to find in the UK. Good work👍
Thank you sir. I wish I could find one for you. It’s a wonderful feeling when you’re done.
Enjoying the series. However, when tapping in a bearing, please tap the OUTER race of the bearing, not the inner race. Great way to damage the bearings inside.
Thank you for that. Didn’t have anything with that diameter. I thought using a rubber mallet would be safe. I guess I still have a lot to learn…….
Did you fill back the grease/oil cap reservoir since you purchased sealed bearings ? Just wondering as im rebuilding an atlas 63
Hey! Great question. No sir I am no longer using that. Nice, making a episode on your rebuild of the 63?
Music, has to go , otherwise ! Nice job
Thanks
