Agreed. But if RE3make is anything to go by, they'd rather scrap Mercs in favour of PvP modes. I don't see why they can't do both like 5 and 6 did.

I used to play this over and over back on the GameCube, specifically this - Wesker and the Castle. Crossing 200K was the summit of my abilities. I'm glad I didn't know about your play style I'd have tried to emulate it for weeks and weeks more! Well done

I'm a fan of Trench coats but they could have used the one he wore in Umbrella Chronicles with this outfit underneath. Oh well.

The only combo limit is the number of enemies on the map. In the case of Castle, there's 348 so it's not really possible to kill them all.
Castle is the only map where massive combos like this are valid, for the other maps it's better to break your run into 3 separate combos.

I just recently played through re4 again for fun. when I went to unlock the hand cannon I got over 100k on each of the levels as my best records. Castle being 150k the highest one. Lol you doubled it. Impresses run for sure here. I noticed you was able to get a lot more enemies to show up by seemingly moving to different places. Usually I struggle to keep the streak alive because of running out of enemies to kill. So it gets to like 60 or 100 and ends
The trick is knowing where the spawn lines are and how many enemies each one spawns

@@Sarcosuchas Did it also happened many times to you here in Castle map that though you shoot a cleric in a leg or in the abdomen more often, the parasite came out of their heads the same?? I was annoyed of this fact cause it happened to me many times playing in this scenario, PS2 verison.
@@DanDeyBananaJoe The Plagas in Mercenaries are scripted, so no matter where you shoot the zealot with a plaga, he will spawn it unless killed by a grenade.

I don't remember now if was RE4 or 5 that I've played the more times ever of all the games that I've finished, but I don't like Mercs of the 4 much still today. I've made only 2 maps in 5 stars with Jack and Hunk in past and some others 3/4 stars rating. The one Mercs I loved was The Mercenaries Reunion (was that its name??) of RE5 with old and new RE characters like Rebecca, Barry, Josh etc.: SS grade in all maps with all single characters, I was hungry as hell to make SS ratings there, that period. 😅

Well, my Score Guide for RE4 Mercs might help you with that.
Samael_the_Golden_King hunk should be very easy, i would use flashes and go on a neck breaker spree
The chanting makes it scarier.
Mercenaries is so broken, you need to keep that enemy flow going otherwise you'll hit a dry patch for minutes on end...
Nope. You need to make sure you are continuously crossing the spawn-lines that make the enemies appear. With 348 enemies in Castle, there's no way to hit a dry patch if you keep yourself moving.

For PS4, a guy called scott_guitar has the record at over 320k+
For the North American Gamecube Version, Derek Taylor holds the record at 340k+
My score is impressive but not record breaking in any way.
The World record for the ps4 version is over 332k by my friend, Scott guitar. For the GC NTSC version it's 368170 by Derek Taylor. For pc/ps2 - 325k by raf. You'd better find out about the actual leader board before admitting someone wr of something. Sorry to sound rivallike, but such ignorance pisses me off.
Agreed, considering the videos are out there to be easily found. And failing that there are the old leaderboards on some websites that give some idea of what the standings are.

@@a.s.l711 RE5 on PS3 had the Mercenaries, but the PC version got No Mercy mode as well. This mode was later added to the PS4/Xbox One versions.
I don't think it's graphical limiations, it's just Capcom being lazy.

impressive! the gamestyle's really intriguing. slow but to some extend precise, confident and reasonable. except for a few sloppy as well as unlucky parts on the highest floor right after finishing off the last chest, this was a great run. you could've been slightly faster at each point, but still nicely handled. now wonder whether you're going to start off with the other stages or keep playing this one. 310 isn't that hard. I presume there's enough potential for it.
Yeah, the speed will come with repetition probably. Once I have the route firmly locked in my head then I can focus on being quick rather than remembering everything that needs to be done and in what order.
The highest floor is the weakest aspect of my runs at the moment but even that is gradually improving.
I'll be trying for 200k on Village, but I'm going to aim for 310k on Castle now too.
the highest floor is actually supposed to be gone through really slowly on the ps4 version since the spawn is a lot different from ps3 once 20 enemies have been killed. it's essential to get out of the first floor as soon as possible on ps4 version as opposed to the ps3 one. right there you can put a little more effort in experimenting on first-floor route. you had better ask scott for more details. he's a genius when it comes to the ps4 version. I don't know much about it as I'm a ps3 player.

I think the highest streak I ever got was about 140ish with hunk in the village. I never knew about the spawn lines so I used to run out of targets.This run is unbelievable I can’t imagine how many hours he put in to achieve this.

Sarcosuchas Thanks for letting me know. Wonder why it had a cap on it. HUNKS neck breaker was super overpowered that’s how I killed the chainsaw girls quickly.
@@jamesreveley5998 Just to add variety to the maps, I guess. Each map has a maximum number of enemies and maximum possible score.
HUNK's neckbreaker is only really useful against the chainsaw sisters. It doesn't work on the other bosses unfortunately.
Yesterday (I think?) I beat my own record at 150K score and 90 something deaths, 70 combo. Lost it when the armored Garrador showed up and kept hitting me. I had actually forgotten that strategy to hang for a while at the start and continue to go up and down the stairs to trigger their spawns, so much I also forgot this map had 3 Garradores instead of 2. You've done a great, great work here and motivated me to continue trying. I just need to time my bonuses better :P

Oye sarco una pregunta porque donde salen los 2 garradores, aparecen enemigos y a veces no ehhhhhhh?
Por el numero de enemigos matados y cuantos ganados estan en la mapa en el momento. El juego solo puede tener 10 enemigos en la mapa a la vez, asi que hay que matarles sin cruzando una linea de spawn para que aparezcan los garradores cuando abres la puerta.

From what I can remember, i heard that Wesker went to Spain to recover a sample from Krauser's body, and in the meantime, he killed all the remaining Iluminados, leaving no more infected people in the village, castle, or island. You think maybe Mercenaries minigame with Wesker is a canon event?
He got the sample from Krauser, but I think it's unclear if he personally went or had someone go for him.
As for killing the remaining infected, that's not necessarily true because the las plagas infection continues in the area (in the OG timeline, this is different for the remake)
What a run the crazy thing is you got grabbrd a few times which leaves room for even more room for points!
