How to Make a Chainsaw Man Cosplay - Free EVA Foam Template - Denji Cosplay Tutorial Part 1

- How to Make Chainsaw Man Cosplay helmet with Free EVA Foam PDF Templates! In this Part 1 video I will go over all of the steps I took to create this Chainsaw Man / Denji Cosplay and by downloading the free PDF templates from my site you can build it right along with me. This Chainsaw Man helmet prop is made almost entirely out of EVA HD Foam and because of that it weighs in at an amazing 1 pound 10 ounces! In this Part 1 video I go through all of the fabrication steps needed to create the cosplay helmet. In Part 2 I will cover the acrylic painting and weathering processes including epoxy gore. This Chainsaw Man cosplay is based off of the manga and the Anime PV trailer. I took some liberties myself with the back of the head because it is never fully shown in the trailer and varies panel to panel in the manga. Because of that some details might not be 100% but it's definitely good enough for cosplay and worse case you can make up your own details.
For those that don't know Chainsaw Man is an amazing over the top gory manga that is currently be made into an anime. I know Denji will be a fan favorite and Chainsaw Man Cosplays will be everywhere...so get a start on yours now!

I would recommend a roll of each size 2,4,6,10mm HD-Foam if you lay your patterns out right this should be fine. Otherwise you might need an additional 6mm sheet for the arms

Do you recommend using plastidip or mod podge? I have both but would like to know if there is one thar works better since I just started cutting the patterns
@@fabianmartinez5051 I think Plasti dip will give a cleaner look on the front of the helmet since it’s sprayed on but mod podge and flexbond are nice alternatives since they are non toxic brushable options

What length did you used for the teeth?
SKS: "So here was have out rotary blade, where we can make incisions in the HD foam to make it more of a square shape."
Me with Hot glue, a box cutter and some foam i bought at the dollar store: *"I like your funny words magic man!"*

@ToXiC_Paradice With patience, yours can be just as good! I cut a few corners and its not quite as detailed on the backside, but theres nothing he does in the video that you cant do with stuff at your house.

Believe me, it can be done. With the right tools, even I, who has never worked on a project like this, managed to almost get it done in 5 days

I'm working on it too for 3 weeks now from Cardboard. And hope it will end good. I just finished the chainsaws, and now I'm just doing the chains and blades, but it's gonna take a long time

Thank you for this! Making this for Sakura-Con 2023 and used my Cricut to do the small pieces. Helped immensely with time - anything with 4mm for small pieces I ended up glueing 2 2mm’s together! In case anyone is planning on making this who has one already!

Question. When you say "Smooth sanding drum", do you mean that the sand paper on the drum has been worn down? Or so you mean a higher grit (which would _technically_ feel "smoother" than a lower grit)?

Just started working on this yesterday for my first project. Perfect template and only issues I've ran into is having a size 8 head, so I decided to just cut the rest of the back head pieces that size and the fill under, going with a more smooth skeletal look. Then omitting some of the intricate machinery aspecting and going with more muscle/tendon looking pieces for the jaw and to tie the head together to make it my own. Huge thank you for the build!!

I can't believe you actually made this. Good for you! And thank you! Makes me want to make one myself but I'd probably stop where you said you could without the extra backing. Looks actually doable too, like it was just take a while, nothing is really that complicated.

After four months I finally finished this build! I've never worked with EVA foam before, but the free templates made it so easy!!! Megacon is in 17 days and I only have to paint it now! XD.

DUDEEEEE, your work is soooooooo cool, i loved the mask. Have you ever watched rwby? is a really nice animated series created by rooster teeth, where the main characther, Ruby, has a scythe called crescent rose, it would be really cool if you tried to make a template of that scythe :D

I am up for the challenge! This is definitely the most complex build of Chainsaw Man’s head that I’ve seen, but I wanna give it a go. Building cosplay props is always fun, and very satisfying when it is completed. It’s cool to tell others that you made the props yourself, instead of buying them.
You can do it! I have had hundreds of people make Chainsaw man based off of my templates, a lot of them it was their very first build!

I have zero experience with building cosplay stuff and using foam, but i'm gonna build this at some point in the next few months when i gather all the materials and honestly as an artist i believe i can do it even without any experience.
