- Welcome back for Part 2 of How to Make Chainsaw Man Cosplay helmet with Free PDF Templates! In this Part 2 video I will go over all of the steps I took to paint this Chainsaw Man / Denji Cosplay and by downloading the free PDF templates from my site you can build it right along with me. This Chainsaw Man helmet prop is made almost entirely out of EVA HD Foam and because of that it weighs in at an amazing 1 pound 10 ounces! In this Part 2 video I go through all of the painting and weathering steps needed to create this cosplay helmet including epoxy gore. If you didn't check it out In Part 1 covered all of the fabrication steps needed to build the helmet so feel free to check that out as well. This Chainsaw Man cosplay is based off of the manga and the Anime PV trailer. I took some liberties myself with the back of the head because it is never fully shown in the trailer and varies panel to panel in the manga. Because of that some details might not be 100% but it's definitely good enough for cosplay and worse case you can make up your own details.
For those that don't know Chainsaw Man is an amazing over the top gory manga that is currently be made into an anime. I know Denji will be a fan favorite and Chainsaw Man Cosplays will be everywhere...so get a start on yours now!

Thanks so much for this beautiful build and template! I'm very interested in trying to replicate this prop. Do you have any recommendations for techniques to add a more freshly-bloodied look on the saw? I don't have much experience working with painting and foam.
@@whopkins4698 the 5 minute epoxy technique i show in the video is the best method for a glossy blood effect that won't flake off
I have been loving the pictures for this project, and the video is fantastic!
Thank you for tackling this build Steve, super cool!
Thanks Odin mean a lot coming from you and I'm glad you are digging the build!
The moment you put on the helmet... I got chills man. I bet that's the most awesome feeling in the world.
Man like I said in the previous video, It is the best tutorial in the community till now. Thanks for all the free pdfs. Your channel definitely deserves more. Gonna start making my own cosplay. Again thanks a ton man.
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoy the content!
that epoxy technique is so awesome!! thanks for sharing your process! loved this build!
Thank you very much!!
I saw this helmet at SiliCon in San Jose and I was blown away, can confirm, it looks even cooler in person!
Thank you! 🙌
Wow the painting techniques and finish ! amazing ! cant wait for part 3 !
Thank you very much! 👍👍
That paint job is awesome, definitely using those techniques.
Thank man I'm glad they could help! 👍
Fantastic build and amazing artistry from both videos. You gave me an idea for a Halloween costume, and gave me something do to for the remainder of the summer. Great stuff and amazing content!
Thank you very much!
there's something so satisfying about watching something come together and look so amazing
Thank you very much!
@@SKSProps you are welcome my good sir
My son and I are working on this now. This is incredible! Thank you again for sharing
That’s great to hear! Have fun!
That epoxi technique was an awesome tip! Thank you so much for that!
You’re welcome! 👍👍
Yes sir . . . this did not disappoint!!!!! Just an amazing job. Thanks for sharing all the awesome techniques with us!
You’re welcome buddy and thanks 😊
Las plantillas, el armado y coloreado, todo es hermoso y perfecto !Mereces mas reconocimiento!
Thank you so much!!
I've just finished mine and I really love it, thank u so much.
You’re welcome! 🙌🙌
I think I would use a Car Tint Foil over Chiffon Fabric for a much clearer vision. Might not work with the glowy eyes but that's if you're planning on doing the eyes. Anyways awesome work dude! Looking forward to trying to build it in the future and giving you a shout when it's done!
Fantastic job as usual, brother. looking forward to see the arm blades
Thank you very much!! I’m going to have to cut so many links!! 🤣
Thanks so much for this tutorial, really helped with me painting my cardboard chainsaw man helmet
You’re welcome glad it helped! 🙌
king i rewatched your video almost like 10 times...i am gonna follow your steps and going to make it within December 10 :")) for the con
i hope i can find this epoxy and plasti dip in my country :"))
I absolutely love it, great job man 👍👍
Thank you very much!!
This is awesome. i love the 5 minute epoxy trick.
Thanks! yeah It has worked really well for me on several occasions
This is gruesome and terrifying, I love it! Now that it's done, how does the weight distribution feel when you wear it? Is the blade tipping your head foward? Looks amazing!!
Weight is actually really good! it doesn't tip for ward but again the entire thing only weighs 1 pound 10 ounces and most of that is in the pvc pipes at the back of the head
@@SKSProps right! And even if the weight is too overwhelming on the saw, you can always add weight inside the hollow PVC
?...how do you see
@@joewagoner3483 out of the slits on the sides but mostly through the gaps in the teeth
So freaking cool! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
Once again great video and very easy to understand!!
Thanks Ashen I really try to make these builds accessible for pros and beginners alike! 👍
This is so awesome i wanna cry!
Amazing job!!! You're my hero ♥️
Thanks! 👍
So cool!
Brilliant just love your work.
Thank you!!
This is fantastic, Steve!
Thanks!! 👍
This looks better than the source material! I'm really impressed.
Thank you so much!
thank you very much, i want to start cosplaying but i needed a tutorial for the peinture and a pdf :3
Awesome, glad I could help
such a great paint job, I Love it!^^
Thank you so much 😀
I never tried the epoxy for giving texture, but It looks amazing!!
Thanks! Yeah I used it on my Warcraft Orc and Theron Guard and it hasn't failed me yet
You are an artist, Bro. 👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Best-looking ever!! Period..
Thanks!
First of all im not gonna lie, if i didnt saw the subscriber number i would have guessed its in the million(s). Really hope you get the attention your qualitiy videos deserve.
I never really build or crafted sth like that befor but i think im gonna try it !!! I really have respect especially because you said its one of the more difficult ones. Wish me luck x)
Ps.: Got my Follow for sure !
Thanks! and yeah I really got into youtube during quarantine so it has just been growing slowly but surly
This is amazing

This is so badass😳
Thanks!
It's....so....beautifuuuuuulll
this is so sick
Thanks!!
This is soooo coooool!!!
Thank you!!!!
Another great video
Thank you very much 🙏
It's really amazing! I already subscribed! It would be great if you made the Shinsou mask from My Hero Academy
This is so cool and I'm sure if I tried it it'll take me months to make one
Thanks! and if it takes you months it would still be worth it! I work really fast and it took me 2.5 weeks to create and paint
You're a genius
This is awesome! I don't know if I can pull this one using cardboard 😣 I'm going to join a competition and what we need to use are recycled materials so cardboard is my only option
Thats so bad ass . Its a great halloween project
Thanks! Halloween for sure and I think chainsaw man will be all over conventions this next year 👍
@@SKSProps I'm going to build me one when my hd foam shows up this week .
Amazing
Thanks
That is amazing, wish I had the talent for that 😅
Talent is just hours and hours of practice
i love the look of the teeth and gums
Thanks! 🙌
imagine a little fog machine out the back
simply beautiful
Would be sweeeeetttt! 👍
You really are amazin God bless u
Thanks I appreciate it 👍
Can you give a tutorial on how to make Gun Fiend character accessories from the chainsaw man anime?
Holy shit! That is……perfect.❤
Thank you very much! 🙌
@@SKSProps Please say you’ll consider making a berserk armour helmet. 🙏
wow that's cool, you can make a video where you do the arm saws
Follow my twitter and Instagram so you can always see what I'm working on next
This cosplay is amazing. i know the mesurements depends on the one's wearing it, but i wanted to know some mesurements for reference of how big or small do i have to do the cuts for the foam. Thank You
Thanks! Follow the directions on my site open the pdf in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click poster in print settings that scales it properly
This costume Looks AMAZING! I really like how you did the quality of the helmet It's incredible. I am a Huge Chainsaw man fan again, this looks awesome. I have a quick question: "How long would it take someone like me to create this?"
Thanks! With my templates it would prob take a week or two to put it all together. Of course that depends on how many hours a day you have
Another type of thing I think I could pull off is Inosukes boar mask from demon slayer
I really want to see you building the whole cosplay
Gonna build the arm blades next 👍
Os Amezing and ver y perfect. Wooow i like it
Thank you very much!
Why your perfect works and videos have so few views? This is rly sadly((
Im subsribed and will be waiting new awesome videos to come out.
Thanks! I just really started to get into youtube about 10 months ago so growing slowly but surely
wooooow!! I just have a question: how much did it take you to complete the entire helmet??
I want to do it so much but I don't know if I will be able to complete it before school starts :c
btw I love it so much!!! aaaaaa good job!!
Thanks! I worked on it for a little over a week but that includes making the templates and filming the process 👍
@@SKSProps that's much shorter than I thought it would be.
Hey, I LOVE these videos and really want to try making this and the arm blades for myself. I was just wondering, about how much did this cost you?
Well I had almost everything on hand so I can’t give you a direct quote. But if your just talking about the foam get 1 sheet of each size 2,4,6,10mm and maybe another 6mm for the arms depending on how you lay the pattern out
Too cool bruh. Could you recommend what all colors and type of paints you used?
I go over every color and brush I use in the video
Wow
Really found it clever how u mixed the epoxy with the paint. I’m a lil inexperienced with using epoxy but I was wondering if such a process could be imitated using e6000?
I'm not sure, I do know e6000 takes 24 hours to cure vs 5 minutes so Id'd honestly just go with the epoxy. also E6000 is very toxic be sure that you are using that in a well ventlated area if you go that direction
Hey SKS, this si one of the coolest ones I've seen. When making a helmet like this, how do you go about working out the measurements of your head to fit into it comfortably?
I designed the templates where part J would be adjustable so that the helmet could fit numerous head shapes. Which to be honest is a lot more difficult that just making it to fit me 🤣
@@SKSProps woah, amazing, thanks for the answer!
I would like to see someone make Nero's Devil Bringer from Devil May Cry 4and Devil Breaker from Devil May Cry 5, and by the way, great on Chainsaw Head Helmet
it looks soo goood! i wanted to ask something how can you see something with this helmed?
Thanks! I can see out of the slits on the sides and the gaps in the teeth
@@SKSProps ty!
OMG THIS IS INSANE 👍🏻
U should try to wesr this and go on omegle☝🤣
Does each part of the template come all in one or do a have to download it one by one. Because I don't want to download it if in gonna come on one sheet of paper. Btw love your videos
Follow the directions on my site and open the pdf in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click “poster” in the printer settings that scales all of the template pieces properly over several sheets
About making anime chainsaws in real life badass!
Thanks!
I love this! Can you see through it?
Of course 🙌 you see through the gaps in the teeth and the slits on the sides
For the LED light, which exactly is it? I'm seeing alot of these kinds on Amazon but hard to tell which is the right one.
I get the 3v 5mm from evandesigns.com/products/model-builder
Does the Plasti dip spray paint affect the cosplay at all? I’m on a bit of a budget and it’s pretty expensive over here, will it work the same if I use regular spray paint?
If still recommend to seal the foam before painting it. You could use mod podge, flexbond, hex flex, or Plasti dip.
After the Arm blades are done, the only thing missing is a rip cord on his chest that makes him bark.
超帥的啦!!!!!
Thanks
king . need help with one thing ..plasti dip isn't available in my country . So what should i do before using metallic silver ? and u used transparency spray at the top of the head to give it a glassy look ?
You could also use pva glue or mod podge to seal your foam instead of Plasti dip. And yes just look for a gloss acrylic spray
thank you so much 💜💜💜
Excuse me sir, may I request an order to make a Bomb Devil costume tutorial from the chainsawman anime and share it on your channel? and how much does it cost?
Last question, I promise! 😆
What's another gloss sealer you would recommend other than Valspar?
Any will do valspar, Krylon, mod podge
Hi ! Thank you for this amazong tutorial ! I don't find this type of "LED remot controller" on amazon, do you have an alternative or a reference ? thank :)
amzn.to/3KZkntF
I want to ask, if I mix red color to 5 min epoxy can I still dip it on the blade and make it look like blood?
that process willl work just depends on how dark you want your blood to be
First!!!
Can i buy that off you, it looks so cool
It's going to travel with me to cons as a display piece, but you can make your own 👍
would i be able to use just acrylic paint for everything over the plasti dip or is the primer necessary?
Primer just helps the paint adhere better and acts as your base color. but you can use the acrylics on top of plasti
@@SKSProps ahh alright. thanks for replying and of course, thank you for the videos! have a good day
How obstructed is the view inside the helmet without the Lights? Really want to make this for Comic Con
most of your view is through the gaps in the teeth vs the slits on the sides
مثالي!
my only question is, how do you see your front through that helmet when you wear it?
You tilt your head up and primarily see through the gaps in the teeth and out of the side slits
Is plasti dip really necessary? I want to try to cut as many corners as I can without affecting too much of the final project since I don't really want to drop more than $100-$150.
You need to seal the foam somehow so Plasti dip, mod podge, creature cast, or flexbond are all options
Mod podge being the cheapest but you have to brush it on rather than spraying it
Hey man, I'm working my way through your tutorial and am about to begin the painting process. I wanted to ask if the Liquitex Basics paint would work instead of the Heavy Body paint, as it would save me nearly $100 to switch them. Thank you
In my opinion not really because the basic paints have a much lower pigment count than the heavy body versions. which means you’d have to paint the same areas multiple times with multiple layers to get a good coverage.
@@SKSProps Alright then, even if I don't like the price I'd rather not cut corners. Thank you for the help and the fast response as well.
i’m planning on a 3d print for my cosplay, is there anything here i should avoid or change to accommodate?
I wouldn’t 3D print it. the front blade will be heavy and probably make the helmet tip forward that’s why mine is all foam
Are you able to link the spray paints/ washes you used?
Links are in the description and I say every color I use they can be found at Blick Art materials. Worse case for the spray paint go to Lowe’s or home depot they change those colors out every couple of months
I love you Steve
can you make a video tutorial to make bomb devil head ? please
hi! would i be able to use regular acrylics except for liquitex? it's a bit out of my budget :(
You can use other brands you’ll just have to do more coats. Liquitex is just a higher pigment count paint so it covers a lot better
@@SKSProps thank you man! you're honestly a life saver with free pdfs and replying to all of the comments!!
a link for the LED eyes would be very useful.
amzn.to/3KZkntF
i can buy your head of denji?
HI! I saw your templates and I had a question for you. Are the quills on the blades on the arms the same size as the quills on the blade on the helmet? Or since the blade of the helmet is shorter, are the quills smaller too? Thank you
They are the same 👍
@@SKSProps Okay! I thought they were smaller to make them proportionate to the size of the blade on the helmet (which is actually smaller than those on the arms). A thousand thanks!
I just got I though of are you able to improve the chain saw man helmet with month mechanism so the month can open and close
a couple of people already took my templates and did that to the ones they built
I was hoping you're able to make video for that. Can't seems to find how they did it.
@@teohb8413 I won't because having the stable lower jaw is what keeps the helmet in place resting on my chin
Oh I see noted, thank you really much!!
