What’s the difference?
We look at 3 different gen 5 guns with slight differences.
Gen 5 Glock 17, Gen 5 Glock 45, Glock 19X
I came here to find out if the older generation magazines fit the Glock 45. Glad to see they do. Thank you for the information.

so, i just picked up a couple G31 mags to use with x-grips in my G33, but they are used, and until they show up i don't know what gen they are, and i just read that the x grips don't work with the gen1/2 mags, and i am wondering why???
Thanks for posting this. I was wondering if Gen 4 mags would fit in a Glock 19 Gen 5, and even though you have the Glock 19X Gen 5, I'm guessing that it will...but if you know for sure and can tell me, I would appreciate it.
The Glock 19X is really not a generation 5. The 19X was Glock's attempt at the US Military sidearm contract. The requirements were ambildextous slide release, aggressive pistol grip stippling and a land yard ring. It will fit most 17 magazines. Being left-handed it fits the bill as My EDC pistol.
Glad I saw this. I have a polymer 80 g19 and the gen 5 mag worked until i put on a magwell. Then only the gen 4 worked

Your gen 1 mag might be more worn than other newer mags so locking it maybe difficult?
But can I put a 100 round beta c mag for the glock 19x inside the glock 45

Is there suppose to be a little bit of play/wobble when the magazine is inserted?
is your magazine loaded or unloaded? typically with a loaded mag, the wobble goes away.
It's the followers, the gen 5 has a different follower, the cutout for the slide lock sits higher. Just swap followers
Yes Mrtokitone, the gen 5 magazine doesn’t fit with the front lip, and the Taran Tactical base doesn’t fit with the lanyard loop on.
I’ve taken off the lanyard loop, but haven’t taken off the front lip yet.
Maybe I’ll post a video of myself filing it off.
Not a bad idea. But I'd definitely just use an extended mags on the 19x but thats me I like extended mags on everything lol

Or if you're skilled with a Dremel tool, you could try grinding off the excess material on the gen 5 base plate

Yes it will fit. Only the 19X has a problem fitting the gen 5 mags, because of the front lip

Every time I say glock I puck a little.
Take off the lanyard and it will fit the 5 won’t fit cuz the front lip on the grip .. so only the 5 doesn’t work 🙄

Hello. The Gen 4 Glock 22 mag is the one you need for the Glock 31, because the .357 Sig case is a necked down .40S&W.
