  • I take a look at the R&G Racing Tail Tidy for my Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 2021 model, which removes the weighty and fairly ugly standard fender and cleans up the rear of the bike enormously.
The R&G kit is a top quality option, with four mounting points into the tail, and is plug and play if you use your standard indicators, which I'd personally recommend.
Build quality is great and there's a lot included in the R&G Tail Tidy kit, and while the price is on the higher side, it's easy to justify with the quality product.

Don't understand the hate for the hugger. I think the Svart looks kind of odd without it. Each to his own I guess.

I'm not a huge fan of swingarm mounted fenders, so there's probably some subjectivity around the look there!

      Absolutely agree.

I love the swing arm fender. Anything is better than those thin long wispy tails on bikes nowadays. Those look so goofy. These shorter things are ok, but not legal in many places.

I don't understand my hate for eating vegies either..................

The indicator boot/heatshrink complaint is a fair one and not at all a nitpick. Smaller sized stuff should come with the R&G indicator set, not the tail tidy - it should be designed to work with the stock bike. I'd be pretty annoyed at having to modify the kit just to get it to look good with stock indicators, especially after paying the R&G premium.

Yea it's a quality kit, but it's also quite pricey. I'd understand if the stock indicators were ugly ole halogens, but with new LEDs it's nice to be able to keep running them and save a little $$$. That small tweak and it'd be perfect.

Looks good! Personally I didn’t really see much wrong with the hugger - WAY better than the stick most bikes have on the back, but it looks great now too!
It looks a bit damp when you were filming, how was the spray up the back without the hugger?

Not great lol! Definitely needs an extension for the hugger. The stock guard did work well for reducing spray.

This was the first mod I done to mine in the UK when I had it new back in march this year. My V-strom 650 I use for work was off the road due to a wiring fault and I had to use the Svart for work. Proper stinking back, backpack and spray up as far as my lid. It's very much form over function so I added the fender extender for the rear hugger and I'm sorry to say it doesn't really help much. It looks infinitely better than the standard guard, a lot less like a scooter from behind now but just be prepared for a soaking wet arse and back whenever it's used in the rain/damp 😢

Yea, I'd hoped the extender might help, but wasn't sure. It does look significantly better though, as you say!@@daviddavies5627

Dirty back. Looks good, though. NJ

Yea it's definitely worse for that! Might need a hugger extension.

@@MotoJournoKrisAre you sure a hugger extension will work? The inside of the registration plate acts as a deflector. Any extension would have to come to the top of the wheel, at least.

A tail tidy on this bike will soak your ass when it rains.
