When I made up my mind to go for it I decided to only do small projects. I have a lot of projects in my own house that are wood. I have counted 15 but I need to keep 5. I plan to start with an experiment piece and take my time. I do have all the basic tools.
I like your honesty and straightforward advice.

You are so empowering. I am less concerned with building a business but I do love updating pieces. As long as I cover costs, I am ok until I build clientele. Thanks for all the pointers and reality checks associated with flipping furniture.

Thank you so much and thank you for watching! Yes I get it - whatever works for you and not everyone wants to do it as a business but hey making that extra money is great! You are so welcome!

My second year of flipping furniture as basically a hobby. Starting to not enjoy it as much. People don’t truly understand what goes into these pieces and the low balling and not showing up has been extremely frustrating. I may take a break for now and wait for the market to get better. Thank you for all of your informative videos. Out of all I watch, your the best of the best❤

Agreed BB is so well presented and realistic. I especially appreciate she is not applying $50 appliqués that are just too frilly and actually keep the piece from being approachable to the average buyer.

      The market is saturated.

I will be starting to do it. I have decided if anyone wants a piece they must put down a deposit or first come first serve.

Great advice, thank you! I'm just starting my 3rd year flipping furniture. My husband keeps asking me when I'm going to burn out and I tell him my body will let me know, as it is hard work, especially being a perfectionist ~ but it's a labor of love. I've been watching and learning from your videos thru this journey and I thank you so much for putting your knowledge out there! I love your work, it's always so beautiful!

Thats great and thank you for watching! Yes I get that and I have burned out a few times in 8 years, I take a little break, pull back and recharge. I also do things differently physically than I did when I was 8 years younger 😆

Do you have a cabinet-painting video? I would love to see that if you do.

I don’t. I have a video showcasing my personal painted kitchen cabinets 5 years later - but I don’t do a lot of cabinets so no active video

I am one of your followers and find you so inspiring. Your videos are fantastic and down to earth and reel. I have been painting as a hobby for years. I got a sprayer that has been sitting in its box for a long time because I’ve been intimidated. Today is the day! It’s coming out of its box and I’m going to test it because I now have a space at a flea market and I need to move towards faster production. I have a question I can’t find anywhere else on the Internet, so I’m coming to you, because you do what I do, and are so generous with sharing your knowledge.
So here’s my question… I have a Fuji 2.0 HVLP sprayer. Once I apply the basecoat, and move onto the paint, am I OK with just cleaning my sprayer out with water before moving to the next coat or do I have to break it down and clean it all out? How about moving from paint to topcoat?
Thank you so much from the bottom, my heart, one of your fans!

Thank you so much! Ok so its a preference but to keep your gun in its utmost finest cleanest quality I clean out completely when switching over products. Your gun and all the little parts are best to clean out thoroughly to ensure the longest life of the gun and no issues with any product left behind to harden or clog

This video was welcome today. I’m finishing my 4th dresser and 5 th queen headboard/ dresser pieces. I’m not pushing for a business but extra cash. I was hoping you would speak more about managing the listings. I think my photos are fine but How do you keep your listing before the most people daily is where I think I’m ignorant. I don’t know the price point for my market yet and don’t have a following.

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Před rokem

Thank you I am glad! Yes it doesn't have to be about business - earning that extra cash is great! So I do talk about things like that and have lessons in my membership group - I get into a lot of detail. That may be of interest to you to join - you don't have to be a business - we have a lot of hobbyist in the group too. There is no long term commitment - so maybe something to consider and I keep it affordable too!

You're awesome! I do have to ask how do you flip 15 -25 pieces a month? Do you prep all your pieces ahead of time?
