Synopsis: Sandra, a German writer, lives with her husband Samuel and their visually-impaired son Daniel in a remote mountain chalet in the French Alps. When Samuel falls to his death in mysterious circumstances, the investigation cannot determine whether it's suicide or foul play. Sandra is ultimately arrested for murder and the trial puts their tumultuous relationship and her ambiguous personality under the microscope. As her young son takes to the stand, doubt starts creeping in between them.

This trailer reminds me of a great movie "Wind River" starring Jeremy Renner & Elizabeth Olsen.
Maybe because of the locations. The stories aren't exactly similar.

The French-language trailer for this movie I’ve been seeing before movie-showings recently is so much snappier and better edited that it really gets you intrigued in the conflict. Do love the story-concept, so simple but great to see a young kid grappling with his mother’s guilt in a domestic conflict, he might even realise who did it while legally she is declared innocent, thats the sort of twist i’d expect at least
I don't know, the French trailer I saw made it look like a typical courthouse drama. And maybe that's what it is. But this one portrays the film as a bizarre family tragedy turned media frenzy which is more interesting to me. Either way, I can't wait to see it!

I saw a trailer for this tonight when I was at the movie theatre and wow this looks so good. I really hope it comes to my city.
If the advertisement was shown in your theatre, then of course it will be you idiot.

We will never know if she killed him and that’s the whole point about the movie. Even in cases where a person is not guilty, lingering doubt can persist due to public perception shaped during the trial, highlighting the challenge of restoring one's reputation despite innocence.
I believed she was innocent from the fact the investigation was focused on one way the blood splatters happened. There was a second option which he jumped and hit that shed head first then before landing on the ground blood squirted from his injury. I couldn't believe they didn't think of that where in the states majority of the CSI would have come up with it. The second proof of her innocent was him trying to committed suicide with the pills and the dog actually eat some of the vomit got sick. The conversation in the car trip from the vet the father sounded more like he was telling his son to be prepared if he (the father) pass away.

@@JacobthePug have seen it in the meantime but thanks. Indeed most of it is in English but some scenes French language is spoken. It's custom in Dutch cinema, and also on tv to have subtitles

On one hand, i find it utterly ridiculous that a smart man would try to kill himself in such a ridiculous way...
On the other hand, i found myself agreeing with 'Sandra' all the time...Everything she said and even her arguments with her husband etc... She was right...
In the end, i suspected *_the kid,_* (little _psychopath,_ that he was! - giving his poor dog 10x aspirins, just as an experiment!😲), more than anything else! 😆

It's not in their native language, so the domestic crowd got subtitles and extra mystery.

Reasons why I think she did it:
1) She avoided the basic question to the 911 call.
2) She said she was using sleeping plugs and didn’t hear the accident but she couldn’t explain why she heard his son calling her from the outside.
3) The possibility of suicide wasn’t her idea. She said her husband wouldn’t do that specially knowing his son is near, but the lawyer insisted is the only credible version and then she used the advice.
3) The man was a writer and didn’t left any suicidal letter?
4) Jumped from the 3rd floor to kill himself? Really? What killed him was the fracture is his head so he planned to hit his head with the ceiling?
She's in France not the states their emergency number is not the same as here. She did call the emergency number so don't know where you get it she didn't. She had on ear plugs and one of them fell out of her ears and she explained that in the courtroom. Number 3 because she couldn't believe her husband would attempted a second suicide again in that way where their son could have witnessed it. Her lawyer was right to suggest it to her. In the end we heard tapes where he sounded like putting all blame on her for the way he felt over their son's accident and stress. He choose to move his family from Germany to his hometown in France quitting full time teaching there. She followed him yet he whined like he's the victim and used his son's disability as proof. His suicide notes were the conversation in the tapes and last one the conversation with his son on way from the vet. Not everyone who suicidal leave a written not on paper, email, tapes or videos.

What a boring movie. Can’t believe I spent $6 renting this😮 it’s not a thriller it’s a long drawn out court trial that will put you to sleep
I thought it was good to give it a 4 out of 5 stars. True it's long but I fast forward parts not necessary like the kid playing the piano they kept showing. The most interesting scenes were the court room and made one think not the same as court room cases in the states. In Europe defendants can interrupt politely if they think a witness or prosecutor is wrong about anything or to question why they are focused on something that's not relevant or true. That doesn't happen in the states and many times the defendants can't speak their mind or truth but only their lawyers do that or don't. I rarely watch slow movies that drag pass an hour and half but was able to cut that time through fast forwarding playback.
