    😊 US all my life and I use pile as well as nap (from another video), and piping as well as welt. Lots of synonyms. 😉 Thanks for the helpful information. I understand there is special hot glue made especially for fabric, have you used it?

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  Před měsícem

      Ahh! And yes I call it hot melt glue, pretty standard though I thought. Maybe not over the pond. Thanks for your support 🙏 🙌 👍

  • @luigibenignochiappero5589

    Congratulations Great Master !!! As always excellent and very useful explanations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    CHAPEAU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Ps
    I noticed that you (and I didn't know it) glue with the hot glue gun both on the double cord and on the fabric
    I've always only glued the chevrons (the trimmings)
    (chevron decor trimmings) (I hope to make myself understood)
    So when I glue the chevrons I put the hot glue with the gun on one side only (either on the fabric or on the chevron)
    I didn't know that maybe for a better job better
    glue both sides !!! A thousand thanks
    Best Wishes.
    Ps:
    Trimmigs : Narrow woven fabrics.

    Whats the best fabric to use for the double welt piping? I noticed that the fabric you used had a backing and it didnt fray. Thank you

      @faceliftinteriors  Před 3 lety

      Hi Sandy - this fabric was an Ashley Wilde velvet but you can use most upholster fabrics for double piping 😊👍🏻

  • @thomasreynolds9165

    A general question about welt cord. When you cut it to lenght after it has been made, will the stitching ripple open? So the thread has to be terminated in some way? Nice videos😀 Starting a diy chair project.

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  Před 2 lety

      Hi Thomas! You’d usually staple the welt cord/ piping to the furniture so it won’t ripple open. My most recent video has some detail about the piping and how to staple it down. If you need any further help let me know 😊👍🏻

    When using velvet do I need to cut on the bias? How do I know how much fabric to order for the seat and the chord?

      I usually order an extra 2m of fabric for piping on bigger jobs! Hope this helps! 😊👍⛏️🧵📐✂️
