Hi guys.... I'm a private pilot, and "landing sideways" is a pretty normal manoeuvre for pilots to deal with a crosswind that is going perpendicular to the runway and trying to push you away. You kick the rudder just before you touch down to straighten out. And the "he missed it" is simply called a "go around", and the safe way to recover from a botched landing attempt. Love your videos!

The one at 6:56 was totally routine. The way fighter jets land on aircraft carriers is there is a hook on the back of the plane to hook onto a catch cable on the deck to prevent them from overrunning. In this clip, his hook simply didn’t catch the cable on the deck and so he did a go around. 👍

The fighter pilots eject last second bc they want to minimize the loss of civilian life they will go down with the jet if they have to just to be sure the plane wont turn and hit a crowd and if they have time to eject then they will and canopy bolts explode and it comes off and the literal rockets on the bottom of the seat shoot you out at about 10g's which the human body can only take 2 times without having life threatening injuries bc of the force the body takes so after two ejections they will be dismissed as a fighter pilot and given another jobs or retired early

The early video with a plane that hit the ground like a bomb going off was a military 747 carrier plane in Afghanistan and had just taken off and the cargo broke loose which shifted the balance of the plane making it impossible to fly.. The explosion was due to its full fuel tanks.
The passenger plane landing on water and disintegrating was a plane hijacked by terrorists.
Also you queried why pilots dont always eject. Their training is to stay with the plane until it is away from civilians or buildings on the ground, that and their determination to try save the fighter jets in particular.

  • @ferencercseyravasz7301

Sideways landing is called "crabbing" and it's the only way you can land a plane in strong crosswind. Sometimes it is necessary if for instance you don't have enough fuel to keep circling until the wind becomes more manageable or to make it to another airport. basically you turn the plane sideways to face the wind and you only straighten it once the rear landing gear touches the runway. And when you see them abort landing and taking off, that's called "touch and go". It can happen when for some reason the pilot decides that he or she cannot put down the plane safely. So it's not a "tease", it's a safety technique.
