    Thanks for the video. IEEE, just say, I triple E. I plan on replacing my sonoff USB with the SMLight unit. Currently creating a document to follow so that it goes smoother. I currently have an SMLight running as a router and bought a second unit that will replace the SONOFF. I have HA running on HA blue. I self host MQTT, Z2M, Node-red, influxdb and ESPHome as LXC running on Proxmox. I like to have other features still running when HA is rebooting and I have more control. I still need to migrate ESPHome device that are talking to ESPHome with the Add-on on HA.

      Pretty simple to migrate Esphome, copy the yaml files and done as it isn't really in between HA and the ESP devices, it is more of a compile/upgrade tool.

    Wanted to migrate for awhile, but we have Zigbee devices (around 110) all over the property. all the videos I had found up to this point said they all needed to be repaired once it was installed. That wasn't going to work as over half of those would require a ladder to get to. Thank you for this video, I ordered a dongle as soon as I finished watching this and fingers crossed, will be attempting this when it arrives!

    Thanks. Always wanted to migrate to the SLZB-06 but was hesitant (and lazy) to dive into how. I didnt relish the thought I migrating 55 zigbee devices. After watching your video and seen how easy it was I, bought the SLZB and migrated over without too much issue. Only thing I found was that notwithstanding I changed in the address in the configuration portion of Zigbee2Mqtt in HA, I had to also manually edit the yaml file with same new address, as it was still pointing to the old coordinator (Zonoff) address. Changed this and bingo everything up and running. Beauty of using the POE is I can now place that coordinator in a more 'central' location which isnt necessarily tied to the server like my old USB zigbee coordinator. Thanks once again! Super easy.

    Super video! From Sonoff USB to POE (slzb-06) with 80 devices without a single problem.
    Prepared the slzb-06 (IEEE, firmware updates & fixed IP), stopped the z2m container, removed the usb device from portainer stack, replaced the serial from the configuration.yaml and redeployed the container.
    All devices were online within a minute. No power down, no re-pairing necessary.
    Thanks!
    BTW slowly the LQI is improving since the POE adapter is in a completely different place.

    Wish this video was available last weekend when I decided to migrate mine. Z2m on UnRaid also and tried editing the Docker file to change the port as opposed to within z2m as you did here. Didn’t like it and z2m had a major fail. Only way I could get it to start again was remove the .yaml file and let it build a new one. 80 devices to reconnect… took to opportunity to change the channel at this point also. That was a painful weekend but at least it’s back up and working well.

    Another great video. I do have a couple questions.
    I run HA at my house and my folks live across the street. I do have a 5.8ghz link between the houses providing network and Internet connectivity. I am currently running the Sonoff bridge at each house and run Z2M and ZHA. I would like to consolidate everything into one interface. With the SLZB06, I can run the coordinator at the main house and the router at the second house. Does the router communicate through the network or over RF back to the coordinator? The houses are far enough apart where connectivity becomes spotty.
    I am currently using the Sonoff Bridge Pro at both locations and each one is a coordinator. Is it possible to reconfigure one of these to be a router like the SLZB06?

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  Před 23 dny

      You would need to get a Zigbee route going between two Zigbee devices between the two houses. That might be possible with 2 Zigbee routers with panel antennas. I've done it across the neighborhood before. But in the sake or reliability, if your 5.8ghz link is solid. I'd just run two SLZB-06 with two Z2M instances myself.
      You can't have zigbee use the wifi link between routers, that's a Thread feature though.

    I also run HA-core on my Threadripper based UNRAID server. I have been considering migrating my HA from UNRAID to a HA Green, as I dont like HA being offline when I have server maintenance or server issues. I know I can still have my heavy hitting (but less important) dockers run on UNRAID and point HA Green at them.... but am still worried Green will be less responsive.
    Thoughts?

I have found that if I go into the add on and rename the device, I usually just add a 1, then move the slider that says Update entity ID, then do it again but remove the 1 and normally it starts working again. Anyone else having these issues? I’m having it on several completely separate installs too.

    • @digiblurDIY
      @digiblurDIY  Před 23 dny

      I prefer the TI chipsets myself given they just have better compatibility with Z2M. I can see HA going the SL route though given their focus is ZHA. Not to really say one chip is better than the other, if I was using ZHA then I would probably go SL as well.
