- This Blown Hemi is surprisingly street driveable. It's an E85 beast.
E85 not only provides great power but also much cheaper fuel than race gas. Check out this new ECU seen in this episode of NRE TV.

E85 and Holley an amazing combo
I don't care what people say but a big blower sounds better than the baby turbo screech.
Yet another monster from the guys at NRE. That thing is crazy Tom, and beautiful.
gotta love that it runs e85 on such a simple yet powerful setup
Once again Mr. Nelson teachers the faithful the evils of street racing engines!!!
I always learn something from these vids. This guy is switched on😎👊
Very tuff
Keep up the great work
EFI is usually lose 10 to 15 horse at Full Throttle being that it's a streetcar and he wanted to look cool it looks really nice thanks for a great video and keep up the good work my friends
OUTSTANDING Job Tom!!! I told Jeff on Sunday "Sounds like you've become a believer in the E85 combo." Nice thing about that E85 is I can drive 3 miles into town and buy it from my local Fuel Station. (they even still pump it for you if you want) Also told Jeff it was the best $50 bet he ever made!! LOL! Looking forward to getting the Willys home. Deffinately worth the wait!!!
Very nice 👍 love your builds
Keep em coming
love your stuff
Love your videos Man! Keep them coming. Glad your back in the game.
Very impressive for the show car circuit.
Super cool
I love how u put that Tom tire shredding loveliness 😆👍
oh, BTW; used the holly set-up for the blown injected hemi in my '64 Dodge a couple years ago. Very nice setup especially for non-pro's like me...
Pretty Badass
Over 1000hp at 7lbs of boost.. Fricken nutty!
All I can say is I want one :)
Love this show. Love his enthusiasm. Don't love the censoring of his language.
A high winding 340 build would be great
What I would like to see NRE produce, OHC engines (Ford Coyote platform, Nissan VK series, Toyota V8), flat plane V8, destroked high revving engines, in-line 4 engines (perhaps Honda K series and GM atlas), in-line 6 engines (GM atlas, 2JZ, Ford Barra, Nissan TB), V6 engines (GM Ecotec 4.3, GM LF series, Ford Ecoboost, Nissan VQ series). You already have an impressive reputation, have you also considered venturing out to stock-car racing?
How do you get an alternator on that belt system? I see the electric water pump
Building an all aluminum 540ci gen 2 Hemi, and very interested in running a dual throttle body EFI Holley System on it, with Either pump fuel or E85.
I do like the sound of a big v8, that one is pretty nuts at 1.2L/cylinder. It seems like the torque curve would be incredibly driveable, 960ish lbft at 3500rpm! I’m kinda interested in what the torque is like between 1000 and 3500, what does it look like down there?
This not really related to video but what is the most fuel efficent engine you have created? Im not treehougger save the planet guy by any means but if you wan't engine with shitload of power and can do more than 9 miles for gallon (this is propably less lol) if you are planning to take long road trips and don't want to stop for refuel all the time.
sdry not trying to be sarcastic but if you are only concerned about time refueling and not gas money then get bigger or additional fuel tank
You finally built the perfect engine,,,!!!
actually I need two of these one for my 70 Challenger and one for my 68 Charger ,,!!
how soon can you start one thwm?
and what's the cost?

I'm putting my 370 HP V8 Holden Commodore back on the road soon after I get a job because I haven't been able to afford the registration & insurance for the car for the last 9 months ,I like the Chevy LS V8 engines that my cars has (LS1).
It will be a change from driving my Dads Commodore which only runs a 205 HP Buick L36 (3.8 litre) V6 engine.
I haven't been knowing what General Motors has been doing by dropping the V8 from their passenger car lineup, the reason I'm saying that is the smaller turbocharged engine packages haven't been successful in the long haul.
For example, my uncle bought a D22 Nissan Navara which has the ZD30 engine in it,he bought it off someone who had spent $11,000 AUD on getting the blown motor in it replaced.
He has been towing a caravan with it on 900 kilometre trips & that motor blew up in it,he had the same problem with a turbo diesel engined Mitsubishi Pajero - they went through an engine & turbocharger in that car.
He has ended up using his 4 litre 6 cylinder Ford Falcon to tow the caravan which he always did after getting rid of the Pajero & before buying the Navara.
I know when I towed a heavy trailer load of stuff with my V8 Commodore, I hardly felt like I had a load on the back.
The only thing that I noticed is that I used a bit more fuel.
So , I think that the larger cubed V8 engines are more reliable in the long haul.
Is e85 more corrosive and harder on components?
What cam profile are you running in this thing?
How much power would it make if it wasn't eating its own exhaust?
That is going in a tiny jeep? Somebody is going to hurt themselves with this beast!
Are those Holley injectors?
Whats the point of the distributor still being there?
Has anyone checked on him as I haven’t heard from him and want to make sure Tom is okay!
Im sure your sick of this question but lol what is a ball park figure for this motor ? Something similar would be nice in my srt jeep
@Kathleen Shaw such a stupid saying! Anyone with real wealth looks after and watch their money only overpaid sports stars do stupid things like not get a quote
Ain't gonna lie,I got solid hard wood from .02 seconds in.. Jus sayin...Yep it's a MOPAR world..
play the engine sound as the music....or heavy metal
I’ve wondered why you never have Holley. The rest of the world has used it for years.
I'm at 0:05 on Cinco de drinko and holy fuck shit that's a fucking monster platinum silver back gorilla you got caged up in the there. Proceed
Sweet, no need to bleep cool words tho
Sooner Chris according to CZcams monetization, they do.
Anyone else see the fire at 3:35?
Anyone know a company that makes 400hp 4 cylinders on 93 octane? V8s sound nice and easy to make power in, they're not too special anymore since everyone can get one. You have Licenced Ford Dealers selling 800HP mustangs for 40k to 1200hp for I'm guessing 80k.
Malicious Affection Subaru boxer engine's
Mitsubishi evo fq400.....
5 people don't like road shredding torque.
That baffled me too.
BETWEEN 3:30 & 3:32, I SAW A BACKFIRE UP THREW THE CARBS, INJECTOR'S. A BIT OF FLAME'S.
D.j. B reckon it's comin from the mufflers man.
I want to come work for you so bad.
WHERE IS THE TT LAMBO...??????
joe coquerre or the AWD car... GTO I think?
Well, seeing that the man generally has problems completing anything and deliver on time, don't get your hopes up. The owner of the GTO sold it as he got tired of waiting.
588 not 488 easy typo
Street cars dont run at 113*F coolant temp.
Hempthanol Racing
Hawlin Ass on Biomass
We make a CBD for American veterans with PTSD and when I’m done making medicine I extract and make ethanol out of the industrial hemp for racing fuel
I would love to build some fuel for a very boutique market Percision high-performance motors
BBC single 4bbl 1000hp
Why not just burn methanol?
king0cans I think it’s going to be driven on street?
king0cans the title of the video maybe?
Methanol is like $10 a gallon so when you only get 2 miles per gallon it adds up
So you can flush the lines after every drive?
Austin Doud, Methanol is $1.50/gallon when you get it from an industrial supplier. It's $12/gal when you get it from a race gas company because they sell you the 55 gallon barrel, and a bunch of corrosion inhibitors. Methanol is the best fuel known to man. We have a thing called the "Methanol Economy" to replace oil when we run out. It's not at the pump because we're not going to fuel everybody's car with it. This time, we're gonna use methanol as a pure combustion fuel, for engines that deserve it. Not pieces of junk, like Toyota Camrys or 5.4 tritons. LS's, Coyotes, big blocks, and semi trucks are the only things that deserve it.
That's 7.99 litres, a 505ci viper v10 is an 8L
If you feel like correcting people, you should really make sure you yourself is correct. The 505 is 8.3. A 488/489 would be about as close at you could get to an 8 liter. Calling a 588 a 10 liver, is however every typical Tom Nelson. Always inflating numbers. A 588 is what will be considered a 9.6.
But at any rate, if you think an engine that is 7.9988 liter is not an 8 liter engine, you are either incredibly ignorant, or just here to make idiotic arguments for the sake of either sounding clever or arguing.
Ok. Let's just clear the mud here. 505 ci is 8.28 L. 588 ci is 9.64 L and 10 L is 610.24 ci. That should about end the debate.
This is total roker stoker stuff..
That would lift the front wheels on a kenworth )) 588 ci = 9.63559 cc, tom knows his buisness
Can someone lend me some money for this mammoth monster?
6000 rpms nothing for this motor
all his motors are weak compared to other builders.........i dont get why he post this , when Detroit is right behind him in hp, in stock cars off the showroom floor.
papashake shake lots of customers have issues with motors too, wonder why Freiburgers F Bomb is never talked about or shown on video
ikillyoudead Likely because David has more project cars going on than most people have shoes.
It’s about more than just sheer power, he often tunes his engines for driveability on the street
papashake shake they are set up as low maintenance street drivable engines. obviously they can make more power, but these are STREET engines which are mild built
You sound like a band wagon person rather then seeing it from all angles on why Nelson builds incredible engines that very few people can actually replicate.
