THE OUTSIDERS IS MY #1 FAVORITE GREASER MOVIE!
It's what made me a grease
Most so-called greasers in the movie don't have slicked back hair or Pompadours
Me too
@@eshaanreza832 not many people did the extreme hairstyles back in the day, it’s more of a modern thing
@@nathangordon4891 slicked back hair and pompadours are exactly what they did back in the day.
I grew up in Tulsa where The Outsiders took place, the Curtis house was condemned but Danny O’Connor bought it and turned it into an outsiders museum that recently just opened. Next, they’re trying raise money to restore the DX gas station where soda worked at.
Martin Scorsese should make a greaser movie.
Agreed... Quinten Tarantino, too!
Man it's a shame Netflix has literally none of these
yo fuck that platform, 123movies is the fu**ing best
@@corpsecycle its illegal. Makes Sense if its free, they easily can get you to court and make you pay. And dont say nothing has happened yet
@@rasperryguy1197 so is Netflix. Netflix is not legal dude, open your eyes
Fun fact: The Loveless starred Robert Gordon who I actually enjoy as a musician/singer. He was buddies with Link Wray.
Awesome dude!
WHOEVER WATCHED THAT MOVIE IS A FU**ING GOD
@@corpsecycle I have it and own it. One of my favourite greaser movie
Rebel Without A Cause, The Wild One, And The Outsiders. The True Classics.
The house they used for Ponyboy's house in The Outsiders was turned into a museum. It's in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
it's fucking 3 in the morning what am I doing
+scatered1 you fucking destroyed him
Jesus, I was going to say I haven't seen a single hate comment on this channel but never mind.
The California Kid? Good flick. My 1st greaser flick.
The outsiders was filmed in Tulsa Oklahoma and its where I live😂💯one of my favorites
Rumble Fish as well
@@fernandomaron87 oh it was? Damn i didnt know that..nice
Good thing you didn't include grease 2, they fucked that one up hard.
I've only heard of the outsiders but it's inspired me to be like them I don't know why it's it's changed me a lot...
Peters Lost Girl same here
You forgot King Creole (1958) and Crime on the Streets(1956) both great movies from 50's
Just started following your channel Mad Man and I was hopping you had a list like this! Thanks for making that list. Deffinatley some stuff on there I havnt seen and will check out!

@@elijahsimpson4519 no I’m not done
@@stephen7097 ya know... that’s not the answer I was looking for but that shits funny
you ever heard of road racers pretty good greaser movie
No but checking it out now. David arquette was in another movie which I didn't cover in this video called Riding the bullet where he plays a greaser character as well.
Highly recommend -Return To Macon County
Roadracers is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. Its not even high quality but it just hits me on the inside and i dont know why. Its just great
Mine is wanderers
La bamba

Grease is 40yrs old this year... I love Frenchy!! She even stared in Grease 2.. Hehehe...
Crybaber is such a great movie. Johnny Depps acting is just on point, love that guy.
Great list. Check out The California Kid with Martin Sheen, Vic Morrow, & Nick Nolte. Hot rods and crooked law enforcement.
Great review dude 👍!
Great stuff to watch too!!
Thanks Madman some of these I haven't seen.
Nice recommendations. The Wanderers is amazing. Loved the music in that one.
Heyyyy there Madman, here's a couple more greaser flicks for the list, "American Hot Wax" from 1978. AHW is about the last Alan Freed Rock-n-Roll live show back in late-1958. The other one is called ,"Hey Good Lookin'". HGL is a Ralph Bakshi animation flick about Brooklyn greasers in 1953. Alan Freed movies are also worth mentioning. Keep up the good work and keep on rockin'-n-rollin', brother.
Thx dude I will look into these!
Thank you for this
Hollywood knights is one of my personal favorites. Its like a raunchy American graffiti.
Another great movie about the 50s: "Mischief" (1985). Ohio, 1956. The main character begins to be friend with greaser and tries to get a girl.
Love the list, got any recommendations from the era that aren't exactly greaser movie but still capture the additude?
Great recommendations. I've been watching my greaser flicks lately....
Don't forget about the movie "Lemon Popsicle", or the American remake "The Last American Virgin
I always considered "The Big Town" with Matt Dillon a greaser movie. Check it out! Great rundown on greaser movies!
Thx will do!
There was this TV show I remember watching when I was a kid...early 1980s, it was reruns of a show called Sha Na Na, (named after their actual music group they were in and did music acts as)... It was a show that had music and skits to it, but the characters, especially Bowser, were definitely influenced by the 1950s and Greaser culture...I watched it not to long ago...its definitely dated by today's standards, 1970's 80's era, but a decent and popular show back in the day...worthy of being checked out.
Nice Vids by the way!
It's crazy that it didn't make the list!
All great classics! If it helps any, I have a couple of suggestions on movies as well, even helped and taught me to get more into greasing and help get back into it.
Moonshine Highway (1996) - Movie about running moonshine in the south, main character and I guess you can say second "villian" have the greaser vibes and some badass rides.
Deuce of Spades (2009) - Love story based around hot rods during the mid 50's to the late 50's. Off the beaten path, but for sure worth a watch.
Nowhere Boy (2009) - Yes a movie about John Lennon, but the songs, the hairstyles, the rebellious acts. Quite a cool movie although it gets weird at times lol
*BONUS ROUND*
Although it's a video game not a movie, Mafia 2. Based in the 40's and into the early '50s. Awesome selection of tunes, you can soup up pretty much any car to your liking, you're given a greaser outfit for the main character Vito. And there are greasers walking around although in one chapter you have to fight and kill them...You can still find them strutting and wandering around. Good for studying outside the music and cars.
There is also a Swedish movie called raggargänget from 1962
American Graffiti was amazing
nigga😑😑
new subscriber here! u have really intersting videos bro i like it keep the good work cat!🖒

It's one of the most underrated comedies ever The Adventures of Ford Fairlane
This is my mother's account. I'm just using it. Im a greaser from maine. "Sometimes they come back" is made by Steven king as you said. But based on maine in that era . Very very good. Maine has a small crew. But good one. It's all cool
honorable mention : Jarred Blancard as Henry Bowers in 1990 Stephen King's IT
Yeah he was pretty cool with that switch blade!
Kryptic Art I know man. I also liked the distressed brown leather jacket he wore.
Kine Creole 1958 was a great greaser movie too, starring Elvis and Carolyn Jones
Impressed that you mentioned 'Sometimes They Come Back'. Loved that movie back in the day. The sound of the greaser's black '55 Chevy was awesome! (I'm sure they mixed the sound of a roaring lion in with it or something!)
Crybaby was one of my favorite movies and still is one of my favorite movies but it was definitely one of my favorite movies as a kid. And you forgot about Grease 2 LOL. Outsiders great movie, walk the line phenomenal movie
Kryptic Kat, you haven't uploaded any more videos...miss you over there in the USA
Wow. I never knew that the Green Goblin aka Norman Osborn was a greaser when he was younger.
XD
Before he was a rich businessman and became Spidey’s archenemy, he was a Greaser.
🤣 I’ll stop now. 😅
This is one of the movies I will definitely watch!
Along with most of the movies you recommend on this list.

Btw, the Outsiders is one of my favorite movies. And I first read the book and watched the movie when I was in middle school.

Dragstrip Riot 1958 and there are greaser too
You have to watch The Deuce of Spades made in 2010 it's seriously awesome!
Very few people know that in the movie Grease. They really wanted Olivia Newton-John to be in the film so they changed the original real Sandy to suit Olivia. Marie Osmond was offered the part yet turned it down, she was not a fan of how Sandy was the good girl who turned bad just to get and keep the guy. I 100% agree that Sandy should've never changed herself. From a good girl with morals into a floosy.
In the play Sandy was Polish and her real last name is Dumbrowski and is really a brunette. There is a book Didi Conn wrote called Frenchy's Grease Scrapbook www.amazon.com/Frenchys-Grease-Scrapbook-Always-Together/dp/0786883456 that explains tons of facts about how Grease really was played. Also with tons of behind the scenes of the film and other fun facts.
Solid kitten great share!
Book Of Love 1990
I remember a movie that came out in 85 called mischief it took place in 1950s and the new kid in town Gene was a "Greaser" it's a good movie check it.
Check out " Road Racer" w/ David Arkett.
This might be a long shot but I'm trying to find a greaser film that I can't figure out what it is. The main scene I remember is two guys are racing in convertibles, one flicks his cigarette and it lands in the girl riding in the backseat. Her hair catches fire because of all the hairspray she uses. The film everyone was obsessed with there hair. Another scene of two guys fixing their hair and one guy is over greasing, so one guy says "little dab will do ya" I'm guessing 90s.
Question. I've seen the video halfway through by this point, but I was just wondering. Sons of Anarchy, good tv show? I have seen maybe 1 episode but I wanted to know some opinions.
Sean Spahr I can’t speak for him, but I love Sons of Anarchy. It sorta lost its steam in the later seasons, but it’s a great show.
I like grease have got the t bird's logo on one of my jackets
madman I have curly and thick hair what are some nice styles can u post a video or gimme some advice?
Gene Vincent style is the best for curly hair
Hey, Madman! I was wondering if us greasers wore dress pants.
tbh West Side Story is a bop
The Young Savages was about friction between Italian, not Irish, and Puerto Rican gangs in Spanish Harlem and Italian Harlem. The white guys were supposed to be mostly Italians, with some Irish. The three boys accused of murder were named DiPace, Aposto and Reardon. The only problem is that some of the costumes were overdone and outmoded for the early 1960's. Guys were starting to dress more like The Horsemen at that time, and MC jackets were going out. The other style for "Bops", as we called ourselves, was a 3/4 length black leather jacket, like the Baldies wore in The Wanderers.
However, It was the most authentic movie about Manhattan street gangs that was ever made. Entirely different than West Side Story with the boys dancing across the schoolyard, which actually cracked us up. LOL. Even though The Wanders was kind of a comedy in parts, it caught a lot of the *feel* of the era, like guys harmonizing, and the paranoid feeling that you get when you're on a strange turf. The music was terrific and the dances were the ones that we were doing in the early 60's too. And you're right. The Fordham Baldies were well known to us even though, being from the Lower East Side, we never saw them.
The wanderers I always liked a lot. West side story Ive seen the movie and the play and did not like it to much. A buddy of mines dad was from that era and had run ins with the Fordham baldies. The baldies always reminded me of the Turn bull aces from the movie The warriors.
The legend about the Baldies was as Turkey said in The Wanderers, "they cut off their hair so it won't get in their eyes when they fight". We had heard that back in the day. There was always some rumor that "the baldies are coming down" like at a R&R show or a dance. The rumors made them out to be some kind of "boogy men". Of course, we never saw them. It's funny too that they couldn't have been any more bad ass than the guys on the East Side. It's just how that kind of thinking goes. They probably didn't even shave their heads. LOL
U gotta check out road racers
By the way i had forgotten to mention this,You forgot a pretty good animatied movie it's called ""Hey good lookin" 1982 by legendary adult animation maker Ralph Bakshi. The movie is rather serious but has a comedic cartoony edge to it,its also somewhat a parody, not so much like cry baby since cry baby was more a parody of both older movies and grease, this move parodies more the looks (ie a jelly roll that is going directly up making a horn) itself and some of the gang cultures. The movie can occasionaly be kinda confusing but its a pretty enjoyable move and some segments were pretty nice. The gang in the movie from my understanding is based on the wanderers and a bit grease. Not to sound full of myself but if you ever make a video on the movie could you give a shoutout.Great videos.
Also forgot to mention, the soundtrack of the movie isnt really rockabilly its like kinda like a fusion of rockabilly and 80s pop sort of
Ok cool dude thx ill check it out!

Does Rumble Fish really fall in the Greaser category, I think it was set in the 80s
