This was very fun to do, but was also my first time using any type of AI, so I hope I did okay. However, it's not perfect.

Which makes no sense? RE4 originally came out on Gamecube at the beginning of 2005. Deadspace was released on PS3 at the end of 2008 and was pitched in 2006. So they waited to see how RE4 did, then ripped the idea? That's like saying you want to increase your inventory slots. They offer you a military backpack for men! You decline, then 4 years later, buy a women's purse!🤣

Apparently Shinji Mikami hired English voice actors because he thought the Japanese voice cast was bad, even for 1996. The dialogue was written around Japanese phonetics and so it resulted in awkward English delivery.
What always baffled me is that so many Japanese games back then, it seems the directors never trusted the English voice actors. Surely some of them must have said at some point, "I know what you're trying to say, but trust me it's terrible as written and I can change it to make it way less awkward."
When REmake² & ³ came out i played them back to back on English and Japanese. Personally, I prefer Japanese Jill and Claire, they don't get so flustered, got some confidence in her delivery. I've not played REmake⁴ yet, but I'll be doing that.

RE6 was still a blast to play, and I enjoyed all the different campaigns, though they weren't all great, I still enjoyed seeing Sherry and Leon interact

The city sequences at the beginning are tense and very fun
I enjoyed RE6 to. I wish they would make another co-op resident evil game but maybe better
The Ada campaign was a blast. I only really found the Jake campaign quite boring and the game length in general kind of bloated (cutting out one campaign would make it more palatable), but it was a lot of fun. RE6 was definitely not worse than RE0, in fact it has a stronger identity than that game. I really enjoyed how fully committed it was to the campy aspects of the franchise, to great effect in my opinion. RE6 knew how ridiculous it is and basked in it.

I personally never understood the outright hatred of Ashley in 4, I remember when I was younger I was starting to notice "escort quests" in games, and was kinda put off at first when Ashley was introduced.
She follows your instructions, ducks (gets down!), Is basically your shadow when following, and best of all will do that little rooting for Leon when you're putting down enemies......you can always look up too, if you're so inclined

Her AI was well designed but because she isnt a tomboy or femme fatale fantasy character so women like that get hated
It's dumb people on bandwagon like they were with hating Twilight, about 99% of them have never seen it, much like about 99% of people complaining about Ashley have never played the game. She gets kidnapped for like 3/4 of the game, she ducks or hides behind Leon during combat and you could tell her to hide in dumpster in most of the areas.

you're right, i remember the zipline scene when she's cheering everytime Leon takes down a ganado. also what's wrong with a non-zombie enemies, we've seen the zombies flop hard in RE3.

Pretty much agree except for RE4, I would put it in S tier. It's not the most horror focused RE but as a game it was revolutionary.
I think a lot of the aspects of RE4 aged terribly. It's a phenomenal game, but the community tends to shield it from a lot of valid criticism

@@NoobZword both gta 4 and re4 are fantastic games still, but they really do have many faults. The fixed camera in RE4 is a great example of an aspect from a good game that has aged poorly. The "not being able to move while aiming" thing too
I agree. Resident Evil 6 definitely took the horror out of it, but as an action game it was definitely fun, especially playing with a friend online or playing with a sibling in split screen. And for me personally, it’s what got me into the Resident Evil Franchise when I was 10.
None of the main RE games are bad honestly.

The last horror re game I've played was code Veronica X. Like 7 and 8 were good but just felt more jumpscare... code Veronica had some psychological with some minor jumpscares.
@MC-MC I love the feel of Code Veronica. It's truly a messed up story. I mean your main antagonist for half the game is a cross dressing incestuous lunatic who believes his sister should have powers over humans like a queen ant over the colony lol. The sadistic torture on the island is also incredibly disturbing.
I've looked up different presidential tier lists and this 1 is by far the best re tier list. Love the fact that real facts about the games was included in this vid as well. The back & 4th roasts, chefs kiss.

RE5's most redeeming factor is the Lost Nightmares. It shows Capcom devs can still do survival horror with coop and be scary. A Tier for me Mr.President.

Omfg I know right?! That was the main reason I didn't like replaying it... it's still annoying on what replays I did do.
Its not that bad after the train just store every item if possible at the very front of the mansion area with the painting in the middle. Thats what I did and it helped a lot for like almost the remainder of the game
Just never forget to bring the hookshot with you everywhere, try not to get attached to carrying herbs and ink ribbons everywhere and the backtracking becomes much more tolerable. Also I'm not gonna spoil the reason but make sure you carry the red chemical specifically on Rebecca's medpack to the last section of the game. Otherwise you're in for an absolute backtracking hell.

I can't believe how accurate this tier list is to my own opinion... only change I would make is RE5, I quit it many times but once I got through it I really enjoyed it. Played it again and finished it on the highest difficulty and the only complaint is, the A.I. partner is trash, doesn't revive you in time and you'll constantly die if not careful.

I admit, RE4 had some flaws, but Joe was talking CRAZY towards the game in question.
I agree with Joe here. It's a great game, but it didn't feel like a RE game. Leon is now a body guard or whatever. It's almost like they made Leon the main character just so they could say it's a RE game.

For me it's my favorite Resident Evil game since it's fun but also doesn't go too far for it's core roots unlike the upcoming titles.

It feels strange to be one of the very few guys who really liked and enjoyed RE6. Yeah, too many campaigns, but they were good. New characters were nice. Helena's chemistry with Leon, Jake (with the amazing voice of Troy Baker) not giving a shit about his father or past, and the memorable Pierce😢. Ada's was the forgetable one. Actually, I just remember the fight with Carla, which was nice. Anyway, I know you guys were expecting more terror and suspense, but as an action game, it was solid. I really liked the character developement as well

'98 RE2 is still the best game in the series IMO. The pacing is flawless, great story and characters, just the right amount of action and horror, incredible soundtrack, and an amazing setting that doesn't have too much tedious backtracking like REmake. RE2make comes close but the lack of true A/B scenarios and some slight cut content makes it feel incomplete.

As a RE game, RE4 is A and CV is S (or at least a high A). RE4 is a great game, don't get me wrong, but the puzzles are kind of lame and it's more combat focused rather than survival horror.

I'm guessing it was time restraints. They probably wanted to get it out asap, so stuff had to get cut. Personally, I don't think it was as bad as people say. Short, yes. But a lot of fun. Plus, Resistances was fun for like the first month or so. I'd put it at C tier.
History basically repeated itself. 3 is just an expansion to 2 with reused assets. Code Veronica is the true RE3.

I realize this is a parody tier video, and a great one at that, but this still needs to be said every time it gets brought up:
The original setting of RE1 was not garbage. I know zero people who dislike the original mansion. Fkn everyone loved it. Anyone who claims they dislike the original RE1 mansion is only going to say so after they hear me say that I think the RE1R mansion was actually the subpar mansion.
Capcom tried way too hard to change the original mansion into a haunted house of itself in RE1R. This is readily apparent by the time you enter the dining room. Not only was the original RE1 mansion awesome looking, but the fact that it wasn't trying too hard to look scary made it all the more alluring! You had a constant feeling of: wtf happened here? It was like being a detective uncovering a mystery, which plays right into the overall theme of the game. And the architecture was beautiful in so many places, it made you wanna live there.
RE1R's graphics were obviously an improvement, but it's Gamecube graphics. We're 3 generations past that now. Graphics can't pull RE1R out of the gutter anymore.
And don't get it twisted, I like plenty of remakes of things. This isn't a "back in my day" rant. But both of these games might as well have been released on the exact same system anymore, and ironically they have been. Bad graphics are bad graphics. In fact this is one of those rare chances to appreciate greater products made with lesser graphical resources. Final Fantasy 7 is a great example of this too. The old graphics are part of the charm now, which I usually never concede because I typically think that's a dumb argument.
Lastly, they changed the clunky dialogue, sure, but all they really did was make Barry the same ass doof he always was, voiced with a more serious tone. But yeah crimson heads were awesome, there's no denying that.
