I'm glad I landed on this channel
Lots of change has taken place since this video. Thanks for watching
One of my favorite things about watching your videos is that you know the proper names of all the parts you are working with. That you were a master plumber shows. Thank you for sharing you knowledge and experience!
Thanks. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember thier names. Lol.
Watched this again for like 4 time in last week. Great info. Man that tip on using hose clamps due to tapered unions. priceless man...PRICELESS!!
Thank you so much!
Best SUB I've added in a good long while.. thanks
Thank you Eric! You might like my other channel then. czcams.com/users/mowerdog
thanks for the info i ordered the 1 inch great way to build this proportioner !!
Let us know how it works out....
I agree with all those guys, super informative, and very well presented, I got a lot of pointers from it , sooo thank you for that ✊
Thanks! Watch the 2nd video of the mixer for the updated version.
Really educational video from a true professional plumber
Thank you very much!
Best video by far! Thankyou sir
Check the second video on the mixer.
Thank You Very much Sir, This was Great ! Im gonna try a 1 inch setup.
Appreciate your time thanks again .
I’ve been washing for 30 years. I find the best, most efficient and least complicated mixing valve is ME. Everyone wants to over complicate this business with mixing valves, various soft wash systems etc. I wash 4-5 two story houses a day and make $1400-2000 each day with no mixing valves. I just want to work and make money without all the complications.
I realize now it's too complicated. I'm going to simplify the set up this winter. I would love to hear more about your rig and process. Thanks for commenting.
I have a general rule for my business KISS. Keep it stupid simple. I have a 350 gallon water tank and a hot water and cold water machine on a flat bed Ram dually. I have 5 gallon chemical buckets and mix chemical into empty 5s on each job. We simply size up the type of job, how dirty and moldy it is plus what type and how much landscaping. We proportion into the buckets and downstream everything. For my roof cleaning, I have a trailer mounted skid power washer that I’ve converted to do roofs. I did this 11 years ago. I run SH diluted directly into the power washing pump an apply it to the roof. I was told 15 years ago, when I did this, by the Powerwash store that I could not do it this way. They said it would destroy my pump. 15 years later, I’m using the same pump with no ill affects. I use low pressure soap tips. I can wash the average 2 story roof in 1 hour and come away with $900-1500. I don’t even own a soft wash system. My old 18hp Briggs with a General pump does a great job. Of course I rinse the pump out immediately after use.
@@Workingcockers That is good to know. So you run 4-6% through your pump with no issues? Or do you run some sh through your ds injector on top of upstreaming sh?
@@housewashing5693 Yep. And that pump (General TS2021) is now over 10 years old. I run it right though the pump. I had check valves and seals replaced last year and there was some, but not much corrosion but it still runs strong.
@@Workingcockers I think you're onto something. Even if you got 5 years out of your 2021 pump and replaced it you would still be ahead of three 12 volt pumps and or a couple of diaphragm pumps.
I put a little bit of a spin on the mixing valve or proportioner valve. I made the same kind but plugged the last port on the manifold and used the white dial valves and put check valves on them. Getting all the parts was a pain in the butt and going up and down to home depot and hardware store along with ordering parts online was a big task but thank goodness got it done and am proud of the end result. Thanks for your help and inspiration of a good ridged unit!
Awesome!
Did you post a video? I’m trying to find an item list? Guys have videos but all the items on Amazon aren’t available anymore.
Appreciate this, esp the sku numbers. I was considering batch mixing as long as I can to save money but with only a 35 gallon tank to work with it makes no sense especially for a larger job.
Make sure you watch my second mixer video before you buy anything.
I like the option of having that 4th inlet. That way you could just stick a hose on it and drop it in chem/batch you want to spray.
Certainly. Yes
Loved it! Thank you so much for sharing. 👍🤓
Thank you!
Awesome video!
That was great information!!! Thanks!!!
You're welcome
Thanks for the video. Great info. 👍
You bet!
@@housewashing5693 I know you get this ? A lot. But would you please send a pic of the metering valve you built with the check valves. coxsoutdoorservices77@gmail.com

Awesome vid!!
I talk too much but glad you liked it!
@@housewashing5693 but at least what you talk about is relevant to what you are doing.. this is good stuff man 👌🏼
@@MNpicker Well okay then! LOL.
Some rectorseal actually calls for applying the sealant to both the male and female threads, in the directions on the container, dependent on pipe size. I wouldn't do that on anything like these valves, because it will make them thread in easier and therefore farther into the fitting.
Good work
Thanks Ribbie! See ya
You need 3/4 if your running 1/2 hose .. all 1/2 hose need 3/4 check valves to flow right
Nice setup, where did you get the pentera valves, I can't find them? Thanks again, great information
amzn.to/3hip6JM
This is very cool.Could you give me a basic valve location for say 1,2,3,5,6% using 12% sh? Need a ball park.
Thanks brother! Great video!
Both valves fully open is 6.25%. Water fully open with SH half open is 3.125%. So on and so on.
You rock👍
Thank you!
Is there any way I can softwash or do roofs with a pressure washer?
Can I modify it or something ?
Or just downstreaming?
I'm new to all this.
Bought a pressure washer to do flatwork and house washing. But now I'm hearing you have to have a soft washing system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
No. You'll need a designated softwash system.
You’ll need check valves. It’s not just sloshing to worry about. Barometric Pressure will cause your tanks to level out evenly and thus cross contaminate.
Thanks for the advise. It makes sense. I added check valves and new style metering valves shown in my recent video. I've learned a lot from your videos! I mention I copied your ladder racks for my trailer.
I know this video is a year old but, I just ran across it; the only problem I see is that the stainless manifold is going to rust with continued use of the SH. Bleach and stainless don’t get along.
@@greenridgepropertysolution3211 I had the same thought, but he says that it has held up well. I believe he has moved on to a new style manifold and valves though. I just checked on Home Depot's website and that manifold is still under $20, so the price is right. I'm thinking that at that price if I get a year out of the manifold, I can simply replace it if it starts degrading......what's your thoughts?
Green Ridge Property Solutions Stainless Steel is perfect for hypo, best to stick with marine or food grade 316 though as this is the most corrosion resistant.
i have a stupid question: do you have to have pump as last item inline before distribution hose? can putting pump pushing past line from blend manifold work to keep harsh stuff out of pump?
You must pull through this type of set up to make it work.
I'm just curious of what the max psi on the propylene check valves are you're using?
You can only have what the pump output is rated if there's an issue. If the pump is set to 100lbs and has pressurized the output hose and the check valves in the pump failed then it would be a little less than 100lbs.
Can you use a blend manifold with a high pressure downstream system?
No. You can use a dual barbed DS injector and regulate 2 different chems though.
So that 4 port metal tube.. stainless steel I Assume.. that wont rust over some time? I know stainless shouldn't. Was tempted to go that route instead of the PVC DIY route that I ended up going. Just looks cleaner and like you could more easily mount it with C clamps or something.
I got concerned since that manifold is made for gas or liquid gas, and after seeing the reviews is pretty bad at the weldings, so do you know how much pressure can it handle and how resistant to chemical (s.h.)? Thanks
The whole manifold is laser welded. Welds look strong to me. No bleach degradation that I could see inside or out. The manifold should be under a vacuum not pressure if it's running right. I'm sure the maximum pressure it can handle is on the web somewhere?
Need that in a 1 inch manifold with 3/4 inlets to run higher volume. Did lowes carry bigger ones?
They can order it in. It's $25 www.homedepot.com/p/HOME-FLEX-1-in-x-1-in-x-3-4-in-CSST-Stainless-Steel-FIPT-Manifold-11-100704/204767413?mtc=Shopping-B-F_D26P-B-D26P-26_1_PIPE_AND_FITTINGS-NA-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-New_Engen&cm_mmc=Shopping-B-F_D26P-B-D26P-26_1_PIPE_AND_FITTINGS-NA-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-New_Engen-71700000072651806-58700006352277098-92700057314826776&msclkid=3bcf12f156bf1785beee72a7b5c57d64&gclid=3bcf12f156bf1785beee72a7b5c57d64&gclsrc=3p.ds
@@housewashing5693 Thankyou sir , also did you end up going with the Asahiav valves, if so what ones are they, and do they flow more than the GF 523 ?
@@scottruch674 It's all right here. czcams.com/video/ojI0zAG16gE/video.html
On the topic of valves I’m still not convinced, and so far I can’t find an explanation, of why those expensive valves are typically used. Both brands of metering valves seem overkill especially factoring in the restrictions, the cracking, etc. they’re supposed to be precise but when operators adjust them they do it by eye like you did here. (1/4 turn, 1/2 turn etc ). A lot of money saved and a lot better flow could be achieved by using quality SS ball valve ($10). Thoughts?
Regular ball valves are hard to adjust precisely because the flow pattern is not linear. Metering valves have a more linear flow meaning they are more accurate and easier to adjust. But you are right. You could get by with regular ball valves but setting them will be super tricky if you're looking for exacting percentages.
You should sell these great job
I think I will with my valve upgrade. Have you seen my second manifold build vid?
@@housewashing5693 yes sir watched all your videos
@@country6368 Thank you! Have you seen all of this guys videos? czcams.com/users/mowerdog
What would you charge to build one of these for me ?
In another video that you published later in the year, you are using a PVC manifold, so I am guessing this stainless steel manifold was replaced. If that is the case, what was the reason that you went with a different manifold?
I went from a 12 volt system to a gas diaphragm pump. I needed to up size my manifold to keep up with the demand. There was nothing wrong with the smaller stainless manifold.
Can I use this proportioner for my comet p36 soft wash?
No. You need to use the Asahi valves seen in my second manifold build.
That is really nice I'm going to order my stuff and make me one.question I didn't see where they had a 5-inch stainless nipple so was it a 4in or maybe a 6in thanks again
I ordered then from suppyhouse.com I believe. But if you use check valves and close nipples you won't need the ss nipples.
I remade it. Email me and I'll send you a photo. Mowerdog@gmail.com
@@housewashing5693 oh okay so I take it that you did use check valve
@@bobodine9299 yes. I ended up using them

How did that SS header hold up to the SH?
Great
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm super curious to see how far it will push chemical
Me too! LOL
What are you using the cam lock for?
To connect to the water spigot on the house
Hey I was just wondering how is your manifold holding up with chlorine going through it
Just fine after 4 - 5 months. I just took it off and looked inside and it's like new.
@@housewashing5693 thank you for the quick reply I did make me one but I did not use it yet thank you
Can you use a ball valve instead? The GF valves are so expensive
You can on the water side. The soap can be a cheap needle valve.
Looking to how it turned out. How is it working with out check valves? Any issues?
I probably won't have it fired up until the end of February. Stay tuned
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We're is the check valve brother
I added them later after figuring out I really needed them
may i copy your design for my own use?
Sure. I make the videos for people to learn or copy.
Genius. Let us know how it goes with no check valves.
No good. I ended up putting check valves on all valves.
@@housewashing5693 How so? Did you get back flow while spraying or when not in use? I have yet to run my build (no check valves) but based on your "No good" comment I guess they are mandatory.
@@LawrenceL1000 what I didn't allow for is basically all the chems and water will try to find the same level without the check valves. So you do need them.
eric clapton?
Always dope the box NOT the pin, that way your pin thread is always turning into fresh dope. The interference thread profile has a tendency to remove the dope from the pin end when you lube the pin end only
That is not how plumbers dope threads.
@@housewashing5693 TJ doesn't know what he's talking about
@@bobodine9299 I can see how a non plumber might think that but I would have been told to go home if I did that on one of my jobs.
Would u be willing to build me one :)
No. There are a lot of builders out there though.....
