    Visually, stacks are the way to go on these Longnose Tractors. Pratical aspects of a weedburner, yeah you can take alot lower underpasses opening up for more routes = more work = more profits. Im kinda torn in between the two. But honestly, Fake pipes is like adding a 7 inch rear muffler on a Corolla lol

    One thing you guys forgot..
    Either way you install the exhaust on the emissions trucks the sound won’t change... they’re very quiet no matter what.. so having them run threw the top really makes no difference.
    Also on my 2019 389 when I would get washes and start her up it would spit out white Almost like chalk all over my stacks and the front of the van I was pulling at the time.
    I’m building a 2022 now and it will have dummy stacks and def tank will be hidden under the hood 😎

    That’s a great option in comparison to ordering the vertical exhaust. The after treatment is required now so it’s time to adjust to it, I’d rather have the old school look and dummy pipes then have the weird looking useless box on the passenger side. Nothing comes out of the pipes now anyway so there’s no reason to waste the energy making the stacks active on the horizontal exhaust, might as well leave them as is with the dummy pipes. \Can you position and extend the weed burner exhaust pipe so that the tip extends past the fuel tank and blows out to the side between the tank and the first set of duals. This should eliminate the dust being blown up as the exhaust is vented out to the side. It may also reduce the noise in the cab as the exhaust is not being bounced of the ground. Thanks. I definitely prefer the vertical functional exhaust for the look and to be able to have the exhaust come out the stacks, also so it's not as much of a fire hazard having the exhaust all under the sleeper. Then I also ran a truck with the grass burner exhaust under the sleeper for a few weeks, while my 379 that I had was in the shop for a engine overhaul and I noticed sometimes you could smell exhaust fumes in while laying in bed in the sleeper. But it's still definitely hard to beat a pre emission truck with stacks, then you get the look and the sound.

  • @elipete211
    @elipete211 Před 3 lety

    Weed burner in cold weather, makes it really hard to see behind you because all the cold exhaust covers everything as opposed to vertical exhaust where it’s all up high, allowing you to see behind you. But, dummy exhaust doesn’t get heat and burn all the bugs to the pipes. Functional vertical exhaust is always getting stained from water getting in the stacks and being pushed out while the engine is running. And the weed burner is really really hot behind the truck.

My concept is to mock the guys that I have vertical stacks and “roll coal”.
