Do you recommend a muffler or a resonator to be installed with straight pipes. Which one would be better?

how do you install a muffler on a straight pipe?

    • @cascadia7244

@@kaseycoleman993 is not technically a muffler is called a resonator. It gets installed underneath the truck before the Y pipe. It's illegal to not have a muffler on trucks and cars so that's where the resonator comes in to act like a muffler.

@@cascadia7244, typically the resonator is installed in the actual straight pipe. Its a perforated cylindrical spool. Illegal yes, you must be a man of the straight and narrow, 😂.

This still has the dpf so it isn’t straight pipe

I bought a used 389 pete with dummy stacks. It looks nice but they are not connected to the exhaust. I'd like to have them connected but I was told the heat would rust out my pipes, is that true? I'd like to have them connected them hooked up. Where are you located? How long qould somthing like that take?

Thats the same thing i heard brotha. Unfortunately, i havent heard of anyone succesfully doing what you are asking. I know its risky but you should delete all that emissions crap off your truck and live a trouble free life. I know of a few people that did it and added straight pipe duals. Sounds great too. Its very highly unlikey dot will say or notice anything. But thats your call. unless you live in cali. This is the reason i just bought a 379 with cat motor and no emissions crap on it.

The newest stuff from dynaflex will not be affected by the high heat from your emissions engine. They are expensive, but very nice. Or like has already been said, just delete and roll. So much less hassle. Quality tuning will allow you to run deleted and clean. Don't "roll coal", just looks dumb and wasted fuel
