Thanks for the review. Well done!
Great comparison, very helpful and detailed !
Heck ya dude!! Thanks for watching!!
I picked up the pit boss four burner for 500 a few months back. At first I didn’t like that you can’t use metal tools but once you get what you need I enjoy cooking on the pit boss. Being able to lift it off and throw it on the back of a tailgate is a game changer.
Agree Brandon! Thanks for watching!!
Loved the comparison!
Thanks for watching Bill!!!
I'll stick with blackstone. It's a matter of time before the ceramic starts coming off of the pit boss, plus I like using metal utensils. My blackstone has two extra buners, a paper towel and garbage bag holder. I've had it for close to four years and use it at least twice per week. I recently stripped off the seasoning down to the bare metal and reseasoned it and it looks and works great.
After owning a blackstone, I'll never buy another one pitBoss is far superior to Blackstone
I have to fast for a blood test tomorrow so probably not a good idea to watch this tonight. Good to see you again!
Heck ya brother, I am glad to be back!! Took some time off to watch my boys play football. They are getting older and we only have a couple more years of this left!! Plus I got sick with the Vid and felt like crap for 6 weeks---ugh!!!! I see you got the FX30!!! I have to come over and check it out!!! Thanks for watching DVS!!!!
That helped!! Thanks
Love the hair Ricer! Great comparison. Pit Boss sold me with the bottle opener!! ......since I don't have a Kegerator anymore. Cheers Bud!!
Heck ya Rob!!!I like both of them but I let the boys pick and they both said the Pit Boss because they think it is the easiest to clean up. Plus we mostly make breakfast anyways so it works good for us!! Thanks for watching brother!!!
Glad you’re back Ricer!
Thanks Burke and I appreciate you watching brother!!!
WOW that was a great help to me. Thank you to you and the boys. Im choosing the PitBoss 😁
Awesome!! Glad I could help you pick!! Thanks for watching!
Thanks..awesome job..
Thanks for watching brother!!!
This actually helped me out. Gonna go with the pit boss
Glad I could help!
I knew it has been awhile since you have posted a video, but wow, you grew a lot of hair in 2 months! Green hair too, hahaha! I would go with the PIt Boss hands down. Non-stick, and no motor that arrives stuck.
Hahahaha ya I saved some cash from not going to the barber!!! hahaha Ya the boys picked the Pit Boss because they liked the non stick!! Thanks for watching Rus!!!
I have had the Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate for a month and I love it. Put Boss is definitely the way to go IMO.
Sold me on the Blackstone. Mostly because of the coated griddle on the Pit Boss.
IF blackstone had a model that was a lift off then that may change things. We use these from our church to feed people on the street so the portability is key
Yes for a lot of people the portability of the PB is key!!! Thanks for watching and keep up the good work!!!
Love griddles! I have the 5 burner pitboss and love it! It’s cool they came out with a new one that’s easier to clean and portable!
Ya we certainly like how portable it is and the boys picked the Pit Boss because how easy it was to clean up. Thanks for watching brother and you are a griddle pro!!!!!
Awesome review Joker! I do like the non stick and easy cleanup but hey, I've got a badass Blackstone and I'm married. So unless she tells me I need the Pit Boss, Blackstone it is!🤣
Ya I like them but I only got room to keep one and the boys picked the Pit Boss mostly because of clean up---lazy kids!!!! hahahaha Thanks for watching brother!!
Thanks
Pit boss has some great conveniences but got to have the rolled steel
Ya the rolled steel certainly feels better but the boys picked the Pit Boss because they like how easy it cleans up and they are my short order cooks anyways!!! hahaha Thanks for watching Rusty!!
I like the Blackstone, working with metal utensils is key fore me, I use my Eseries when I want non stick. Excellent review Ricer! Cheers 🍻
Thanks brother and ya I like metal better but I let the boys decide which one we would keep and they both picked the Pit Boss because they are the short order cooks around here anyways!!! hahaha
Great comparison. That said, I decided months ago I'd be going with the blackstone. I don't like the ceramic coating on the pit boss. I like using steal spatulas and I know me. Eventually the pit boss surface would be messed up. The rolled steal top will last me the rest of my life and that's a comforting feeling for me. The airfryer seems cool but you can get a electric airfryer for less than it costs to get the combo. Last thing,I'm not a big fan of Walmart but that's the place to go for blackstone. They must have a special deal with them because they do have the best prices on those units. Anyway great video, looking forward to seeing Vader putting up some smoke.
That is why I went with the Blackstone. And some griddle youtubers I watch their pit boss surfaces wore out in about a year. They will likely be using it more than most people. But in a way that is bad for the consumer as it will likely wear out for most after the warranty is done. The blackstone will require more maintenance but it will last forever.
Just read some comments below and I think you should do another review after a year to show how the non stick holds up since some seem to think it won't. It's like anything else, you have to take care of it. I have a porcelain coated griddle that is 5 years old and like new still and surprisingly doesn't stick like I thought it would.
Ya the boys picked the Pit Boss so it will be interesting how it holds up even if we are basically only doing breakfast and smash burgers on it!!! Thanks for watching Rus!!!
lol yupp just like a year later my blackstone has a beer bottle opener on it 🤣🤣
Haha... You look like a big elf in one of the slots that I play in AC,,,,.... Nicely done my man.!!
Hahahahha Very Big ELf!!!! Hahahaha Thanks for watching Tommy!!
Great video Joker! LOL!!!
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it Brian!!! HAHAHAHAHHEHEHAHA
Pit Boss lost me at plastic utensils and coated surface. Thanks for the review! Very helpful.
Thanks for watching!
GREAT REVIEW RICER
Thanks dude!!! New LSG video dropping tomorrow!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ Can’t wait to see it. Wood smoker always good in fall and winter.
I love my pit boss griddle and smoker. No issues
I think I would go with Blackstone on this one
Certainly a nice griddle!!! Thanks for watching Luis!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ bring back the Ricer show on Sundays!
MAybe someday brother!!! Once I get a few things in the studio I might!!!!! Have a great week brother!!
A quick note for you about wheels. If you move your griddle over rough surface, the bigger the wheels the better. If it has casters you will be carrying it.
Good point but I don't have any rough surfaces. Thanks for watching!
Nice comparison. I think both offer some great products, and there’s something to suit everyone. The Pit Boss nonstick seems to be holding up well for folks, so that’s impressive. I enjoy clanging metal around on the Blackstone, but can definitely see the appeal of the Pit Boss😊 cheers🍻
I agree Bobbi!!1 I like both a lot but I let the boys pick one and they both wanted the Pit boss---lazy kids!!!! hahaha But I really like the portable feature so I was happy that they picked that one!!! Like always thanks for watching!!!!!
i would not eat anything touching that pit boss, what is that coating made of?
Ha ha it is ceramic coated. Stop pretending you are some type health nut. We all know you got a gut.
i would go with Blackstone. my buddy has a Pitt Boss but one of his friends used a metal spatula that created a dead zone to not put food on it
Ya only use plastic on the Pit Boss. Thanks for watching!
Since this video was made there are many more options to choose from. Weber and Traeger came out with their griddles and they look good. However, Pitt Boss' Deluxe line is what has my interest. The griddle comes with a cold rolled steel griddle top, but you can purchase a ceramic top for it as well. Therefore, you have 1 griddle with the choice of using either top. I like the thought of using a ceramic top but am leery about it's longevity. With the ability to swap out tops my apprehension is taken away. I really like your no nonsense style of equipment evaluation. Keep it up.
Ya lots of things change in BBQ equipment. Thanks for watching!
Oh, you made me instantly hungry!
Sorry----hahahha Thanks for watching!!!
Nice joker hair!
Hahahah thanks Johnny! I appreciate you dropping by brother!!!
I have them both, and my blackstone gives far more flavor
Not being able to use metal utensils is a deal breaker
Ya it is a down side for sure!! Thanks for watching!!!!!!
You didn't get no hair in that food did you? LOL. Joker vs Grinch cook coming up, I smell a classic Hahahaha
Hahaha thanks for the idea!!!!!!! hahaha I appreciate you watching Rob!!!
Like my pitboss
I like the black stone. The experience of the steel is like no other
YA I like the ching changing of the metal too! Thanks for watching!!
I agree. It's apart of the experience. The pit boss is an excellent unit but for me the cleaning gives you more of an excuse to get away and be outside longer
I fully agree with shopping around for a better deal. I got my 36” blackstone with air fryer for $398 on sale when it’s usually $598 to $698.
Heck ya Greg!!! Funny how the same thing can be priced so differently at different stores! Thanks for watching!
With the Aligator man on the BayouuuuuUUUUUUUUU 😜😊
hahahah I like that!!
I like the pit Boss.
I let the boys pick one and they picked the Pit Boss too! Thanks for watching brother!!
Hey buddy, do you still have the ultimate griddle? If so is it for sale? I have the Blackstone 17" electric non stick griddle and really like it but it is too small and looking for a bigger option.
Hi Curtis, I do not have it anymore. I liked it though but had to make room.
Nice hair ricer🔥🔥
Thanks brother!!! hahahaha
Still trying to talk the wife into letting me get a griddle. Even finished our new patio.
Once she lets you get one she will be very happy she did! Easy to cook on and a lot more fun than on the stove in the kitchen!!! Plus honestly less mess!!! Thanks for watching Meegs and I hope all is well!!!!
My Blackstone has a bottle opener
Does the steel griddle on Blackstone put out a better flavor than the ceramic though ?
Not that I could really notice but the sounds of the steel clanging is so rewarding sometimes! Thanks for watching!
Dude if you ever start twerking with that Green hair on this Channel I am out of here for good. 😂
Good stuff, Thanks for sharing.
Hahahaha I might have to just do that for you brother!!! hahahahaha Never give a clown an idea!! hahaha Thanks for watching!!!!
Nice review, both look like good griddles. BTW, cut your hair you darn hippie clown 🤣Happy Halloween Jeff!
Thanks Troy!!! Ya it certainly was getting pretty shabby looking!!! hahahaha Thanks for watching brother and Happy Halloween to you too!!!
do you use the air fryer enough on blackstone to make it worth it to have? would you like to see that on the pit boss?
I had the 36" dual air fryer and warming drawer used it twice in the time I owned it. It's also not compatible with natural gas so i sold it and bought the regular 36" and converted to natural gas as my bbq is that. I also have the tailgater which is awesome
I honestly wouldn't want it on a griddle. I am not a big fan of air fryers other than maybe using it to make some french fries. Thanks for watching!!
idk what it is but i just prefer to use metal utensils. i’m trying to find a reason to do ceramic over steel but the fact that i can ruin and never be able to use the ceramic again keeps pushing me to steel. that thing can sit outside in the rain for 5 years and you could probably grind it down, polish and reseason and your good to go
Ya the ching clang of metal just sounds better too! Thanks for watching!
Bottle opener....... Sold. Pit boss for life.. lol
Ali vs . Frazier
King Kong vs. Godzilla
Pitt Boss vs. Blackstone!
Hahahaha so true Buford!!!!!
but what about the Rider DLX 1200. I’m waiting before i buy it.
I gave mine to a friend in need, sorry!! It is a good entry level pit but there are better models out there. Thanks for watching!
The blackstone top hinged to the griddle is some strange engineering.
Hahahah ya I absolutely hate that flimsy design! On one of them that I had a bolt on one side fell off and I couldn't find it so I had to dig around until I found one that worked! hahaha Thanks for watching!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ I saw a rusty top 36" blackstone for sale yesterday on marketplace for $25,I responded and was 1st in line, but I already knew driving 4-1/2 hours each way was not worth it to me.
I wonder how Pitboss will hold up After a few years
ya we will see how it holds up! Thanks for watching Izzy!!!
Both made in China. Ho Hum... Thanks though good comparison.
not a fan of the pit boos flat top. hard to clean as the blackstone after 1 year of use. lol
I like both and we basically just use griddles for breakfast or basic stuff!! Thanks for watching Scotty!
We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables czcams.com/users/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.
Awesome!!! Thanks for watching!
The non-stick coating on the Pit Boss is a non-starter for me. That’s not going to hold up over time like the Blackstone. Thankfully, the griddle insert on my Pit Boss 1600 is not non-stick coated and should last for years.
Ya it will be interesting how it does down the road. I do know that you want to use a high heat oil when cooking on it but that is the one my boys picked and we don't do a lot of griddle cooking other than breakfast anyways! Thanks for watching!!
Blackstone for me, coatings and plastic tooling not for me
Heck ya!! Thanks for watching!
But which one does Ricer ah I mean the joker like? 🎃happy Halloween 🎃
HAHAHHEHE Well Eric my boys picked the Pit Boss---they are typically the short order cooks around he and they both agreed they like that griddle the best. Mostly because of clean up----lazy kids!!! hahaha Thanks for watching brother!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ question dodger! Lol…I watched every second and know what the boys liked, I’m interviewing you now 😉 let’s talk to Jeff, which one is the winner for Jeff, Ricer, the joker?
I like the rolled steel better but because we don't use griddles much I like the fact that the Pit Boss won't rust up. I had a rolled steel griddle in the past and I ended up giving it away because it started to rust a tad. I also don't like the air fryer and I like the fact that the 3 burner PB is so portable. If I really like the blackstone more I would have kept it and used the Joker card over the boys! hahahha So ultimately I would pick the Pit Boss but I hope that non stick coating lasts a long time!??!?! I do know you have to use a high heat oil like avocado oil because olive oil can burn and wreck the non stick. Hope this helps brother!!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ helps a bunch brother! I agree with your assessment but I’m also having a hard time thinking about not being able to use the steel… I like the Ching Chang sound of steel. If I were to get the blackstone id get one without the air fryer. Thanks again!
Hahahaha ya the ching chang certainly is the fun part!!! Glad I could help!! Have a great week Eric! Wait until next weeks video----Vader has been cured!
Any of these griddles actually made here in the US, and not China?
None that are sold at a box store. Thanks for watching!!
For such an easy product they both sure seem to have huge design flaws.
Thanks for watching!!
Just get a blackstone. I have a pit boss pellet grill and love it. You can’t tell me that the non stick surface on that griddle won’t wear out. Every non stick skillet in the world wears out eventually. A seasoned blackstone will last forever. End of discussion.
corona and modelo???? ugh.
hahahhahahaa thanks for watching Michael!!!
I like the Pit Boss, but man...that top makes me nervous! I've had nothing but issues with coated anything, and I tear shit up easily lol. Is there a warranty on that coated top?
Well look at this, Uncle Dickie made it out of the "Held for Review" comments!!! hahaha Thanks for watching brother!!!
