- Elon Musk has said that owning Twitter has been "quite painful" and "a rollercoaster”, in an interview with the BBC.
The multi-billionaire entrepreneur said he would sell the company if the right person came along.
Mr Musk, who also runs car maker Tesla and rocket firm SpaceX, bought Twitter for $44bn (£35.4bn) in 2022.
He admitted he only went ahead with the takeover because he knew he would be forced to in legal proceedings.

I don't think the interview went at all well for the BBC. There needs to be more diversity of opinion and critical thinking at the BBC. More journalists and fewer activists. They need to reflect public opinion and not try to create it.

Having had 3 meeting with Elon during my time working for him, I can totally understand why James Clayton completely crumbled during this interview, Elon is at a different level to most people and you need to have lots of facts and figures to back up any ideas.

I absolutely agree that Musk is on a different level. That's why the Twitter engineer who relinquished control of the company originally did so by e-mail and not in person. He knew he was licked but he had every intention of ripping Musk off in the process. He also knew that Musk is almost certainly a human lie detector who can read deception in subtle facial expressions and body language. He well knew that he was going to lose an interrogation so he just impersonally railroaded Musk into an unnecessarily costly contract. If he had handled the relationship any differently whatsoever, he would've inevitably reached the same outcome except with more favorable terms for Musk and less favorable for Twitter.

What about the key question he asked about who determines what is hateful and how? James Clayton was doing what he is hired to do. If Clayton actually asked about “the twitter files” he would have been sacked by the BBC.
I just watched the entire interview on Tesla's page... There is no way this guy is the best representative of the BBC as far as an interviewer. James Clayton sucked up to him the whole time and when Elon laughed in his face, he had no response. BBC has really fallen off.

I don’t owe a thing to Elon but I think that in this specific case the BBC has gone beyond. For example 1 or 2 years ago a car manufacturer was going to lay down A LOT of workers and I didn’t see the BBC there asking questions, the focus was in what was the government going to do. They decided to pay the company in order for them not to go and the media let the thing leave. From my point of view that is wrong and the government should have used that money for educating the workers in another task that the country needed rather than giving away money. The company said CLEARLY that they will go later on, so the problem is not solved
The media doesn’t cover those things or doesn’t put weight in the massive amounts of money they are giving to the banks right now, you have to search for it, it is not a headline, like this is and I think that it affects to more people

If goods are not as described then there is a legal argument. Whether it's beneficial to pursue that is up to the party concerned. On balance Musk decided that his argument would not prevail in court. I'm unsure whether caveat emptor prevails in this case, but it's very clear that the Bot number stated was not true.
