One problem Scotty ,many modern phones no longer have the headphone jack 😭
Am proud to do it The Scotty Way.. Thank God It's Mechanic Monday!
Hey Scotty I have a clean comment do I win now🤣
Good points Scotty, thanks for the videos we all need something to do right now.
Scotty should I swap a Cummins into a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 Triton V8 4wd? I want better fuel economy and no spark plugs being spit out.
This guy is great. He gets excited over the smallest things......sign of a thankful and grateful spirit.
really true - I like your remark!
Amen!!!
Absolutely
Scotty: “This device will change your car to a Toyota Celica”
I thought you had to ride in style by letting the caddy drive.
Aka riding shot gun.
Granpa NO! Dont pull the shotgun. He means riding in style beside the driver .
Granpa- "oh"
Project Celica Blue Beam.
It already has...💜
A Celica Fleetwood Brougham, mind you...
This device will turn your old Lexus into a LF-A Supercar
I installed this device in my 1986 Honda Civic, and it immediately became a 2021 Honda Civic. A+++ review, thanks for the advice.
What is the name of this device?????
Can u tell me what its called?
Did it hold up well?
You have a 32 yearold car how is that working
Type r??
In this episode, Scotty discovers 15 year old technology.
306maxievo2 lol no kidding.
Lmao!
Bless him 🔩
He’s been testing it out this whole time!
Hahaha top comment
These come in handy for older cars with no bluetooth options already installed; especially when radio stations play the same 40 songs on repeat every 3 hours.
Welcome to EVERY RADIO STATION 2020.
I hate the radio.
The only station i ever listen to anymore is Boston's classical 99.5
Otherwise, i use my phone.
40 per hour, hah, not with 30 minutes of commercials every hour!
Hell yeah!!!!!
Same with the satellite radio channels....
SCOTTY'S WIFE: "stop messing with my lexus. i want it stock"
Yeah he had the $350 android car device already wried up and installed.
Your The Boss , Scotty Seems To Be A Rebel Without A Cause . . . !

@@JSPHTRS no
I thought I was the cheapest guy until I discovered Scotty
4:15 I love how your own theme played through the radio
Scotty,
I’m over 60 and been repairing cars since the 70’s and I STILL learn from you weekly. Keep up the good job as old dogs can in fact learn new tricks....
Amen
True
Fantastic lol
Wait till Scotty finds out they're making phones WITHOUT headphone jacks...🤯
Like mine
Even then, you can also buy dongles that convert charging ports to 3.5 mm audio jacks, anyway (many phones these days bundle them in.)
I use my headphone jack just enough to where it'd be annoying not to have one.
@@billsandrew dude same
Or use the iPhone adapter...
Scotty I'm now seeing this video and it's a year later. Incidentally I just purchased one of those mpj players for my car and it's working fantastic! I have the exact make and model lexus as your wife. The only thing is I'm using the Bluetooth, but I'll connect it to the cord as you suggested. I've learned a lot about my lexus listening to your videos. Thank you for teaching me as a woman how to learn more about my car, and try easy fixes for my car myself so I no longer get ripped off by mechanics!
So cool. I still remember the fm converter. Had one in my 69 mustang 50 years ago. Would love to try this player.
"Do it the Scotty way, the cheap way" - Quote of the day guys!
Bro.that was amazing.the guy has 6 mill. Subscribers and you got a ❤ straight from Scotty himself !!I would play the lottery if I were you!!
Maybe Scotty got this just so he can hear his car play "rev up your engines!!"
I used one of these on my old Kia. Great cheap upgrade for a non-BT system. It wasn't the best and occasionally forgot all the settings, but it was $15 vs $150+ for a new radio (only needed two). He's right about the sound quality with BT and radio. The cheap ones have a lot of static as a result.
Honestly, this was something I was looking for. I just got an 06 Ford Explorer limited and I searched the car from top to bottom and found no aux input or Bluetooth for my phone. The Bluetooth transmitter would really make my daily trip to work much better. Also, I love your videos. I honestly get tired of my mechanic making up all the things that are wrong with my car. When I initially purchased my car, he said that there was an issue with the engine but when he put the electronic tool to check the car, it was nearly clear of any faults. I hope that you can continue your videos as they help me and others.
Scotty is cheap like me that's why I love him😂
YUPPERZ. 👍🤗😎
Yes he is !!!
Yes you are... mee two.
Scotty, I was hoping you were going to tell us how you just installed an 8 track player in your Corolla
Hey, Scotty, you sound like you lived the good life I remember using every speaker I could find or acquire! No stereo but got a hold of a reverberator WOW!! Great sound! Also, you are my Hero!!!! God Bless You!!!
Happy Friday Scotty, I'm a relatively new subscriber and have to say that your videos have helped me more than others with troubleshooting my truck issues. Keep educating people on vehicle maintenance and hope you have an awesome day.
"You can't even get a tank of gas for $23". Well recently....
In mn I fill for under 20 lol only during covid tho
Enjoy it while it lasts
Oh lucky boi you do not live in taxhell Europe.
Pazo
Enjoy it going nowhere
It's $1.11 a gal. in Houston.
Scotty: Laughs
Me: Sees Photoshoped horse
Me: 🤣
J. O. Lol always has me laughing too 😂
Probably my favorite thing about his videos then the car stuff second
The shot from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles was good too. That movie was great, and it was interesting how Steve Martin played the straight guy and let John Candy play the goofball.
Photoshop horse me
Me too first time I saw it I cried with laughter.
From tube radio to cel phone, Scotty has come a long way
You brought back a lot of memories with the tube radio. Im 64 and when I was about 14 or so I hooked one to a electric train power supply and had a radio in my room with a speaker from the local drive in theater. Later I got a FM converter and my Mom confiscated the thing. I had rock and Mom had classical. Thanks for the memories bro.
SCOTTY I TELL EVERYONE ABOUT YOU, YOUR TIPS HAVE SAVED ME MONEY SO I CAN LIVE ON THE CHEAP BUT STILL LIVE COMFORTABLY, YOUR CZcams CHANNEL IS A SERVICE TO HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great product Scotty! I'm old enough to have installed an FM converter in my 1970 Cuda back in the day.
Imagine every time you turn your car on you hear the "Rev up your engine!!" Voiced by Scotty
White Lodge hell yeah man.
You can probably make it the door open chime
That would be a neat trick.
Your cars gonna run for over 500,000 miles
Great unit, Scotty! Back in the day, I had an FM converter too in my '76 Ford Pinto Stallion. Been using a simple FM transmitter for MP3 player for a few years now.
Ahhh Planes, Trains and Automobiles......one of my favorite classics from ole Candy. 😂
Scotty: Plug it in your headphone jack..
iPhone users:
Hahahahaha 😂😂
i cant stand Apple, overpriced crap.
@@gbax110 The new iPhone SE 2 is only $400. 😳
@@CrunchyStingray Still overpriced.
@@jasonscott2187 iPhones are far more beautiful and consistent than android phones. in android each app has its own menu style and interface. in iphone, everything looks the same, like the app was all designed from the same template. I like sameness
I've had one for my 95 buick roadmaster for 3 years now. Love those little transmitters. Cost me $30.
That would go great in my 01 Ram 3500----love your enthusiasm Scotty!
I've used an alternative similar device and while driving apparently someone else close to me was already tuned into the same frequency (with same or similar device) but using it as a phone call, therefore I could hear him, an indian guy (UK based) speaking with someone on phone and the music I was listening to blended with their phone call. :)))
Despite that such accessory is fully worth the money for cars with no connectivity.
Great Spy tool. ? 8 )
@@kareno8634 well depends, I couldn't understand them indian guys, so didn't spy anything🤣🤣
⁵....
mike brink those were cordless phone conversations the scanners were picking up, not cell phones.
mike brink what you describe was in the early days of cell phones when they used analog signals. A police scanner could indeed pick up those conversations. The
technology soon after switched to digital transmission which was encrypted solving the “eavesdropping” issues. The latest cordless phones also use digital/encrypted signals to avoid being listened to by your neighbors. Police using Stingray equipment can actually listen to cell phones to this day although the cost of the equipment necessary to do so is very high.
I'll take it, but does it come with a free Toyota
I’ve always had old vehicles so I’ve Ben using stuff like this for years. When I first started driving 16 years ago, I had a connector for a CD player that played through the tape player of my 97 Taurus
New subscriber. I found this channel the other day when the used car market video was trending. I have a 1997 Camry that's had some issues the last few months. You're my new hero lol.
Hey Scotty, I have one of these in my car, they're great. I convert my cd's to mp3's. Then i load everything on a usb drive and voila tons of music in the car!!
“You can’t get a tank of gas for $23.” You can now! Lol
lololol down 50% lol
Even when gas was $2.30 a gallon I could. Tank holds 15, but I always seems to refill with 10.
We’re just ignoring the fact that Scotty listens to fallout boy
Regulater 117 I bet everyone will remember Scotty for centuries
@@apdole you sir are a legend
Fallout Boy isn't all THAT bad.
Scotty my respects to you, you know a lot and most importantly you share what you know with us so we can do it at home if we don’t have you close and hundreds on car repairs. Thank you and God Bless you Sir. Stay safe!
Brought back some good memories with a FM converter thru the AM radio in my first car.
"I got sick of my friends singing" 😂
Great product Scotty. Thanks for doing your great consumer reviews.
Thanks for the info Scotty I had an older one that didn't work very well . This one looks like a HUGE improvement!
Remember the cassettes with the aux cable 😂😂😂 I used to rock those for sure!
Now there are are even ones with bluetooth 😅
I still use one.
Those are better than the FM transmitter in this video. Much better sound quality. I remember as a poor college student, I would actively look for cars with cassette players just because the cassette adapter is so much better.
"Aftermarket stereo companies are ripping you off and I'm going to fight it!"
, sounds really good, since my car is 1970& 1988, even better, but what is the name and address, part numbers?
Going straight into my '03 Matrix! Thanks Scotty!
Scotty, you freaking rock! Very nice review of this product. I was looking for reviews on youtube on BT transmitters for car and lucky me I ran into you!! I'm sold!
That looks like a really cool FM transmitter. I’ve tried a few myself and it really gets the job done.
My son bought one of those last year - he seems happy with it so far.
Thanks for another great video. I remember back when I first got my drivers licence and got my first car, the radio was crap. I ended up replacing it, but compared to the options you have today it is really something, especially when you consider the price.
I’ve recently found your channel Scotty and I dig it!
Thanks!
Scotty, I'm so glad to see this $23 US device. Just what I needed for my 2005 Matrix which had a fine speaker system.
Scotty, I need this in Africa. I can't wait to transform my old car into a modern one. Keep up the good works.
Hey Scotty, you've got all the coolest low-down on vehicles, and now sound too! Awesome!
Thanks Scotty! The model that you posted was available anymore but I picked up a similar one. I used to use an FM transmitter similar like this back in the late 90's without all the bells and whistles but it crapped out on me. For the last 8 years I've been using a cassette adapter hooked up to my MP3 player in my 2002 Corolla. I'm looking forward to trying this out and ditching my old clunky setup.
That looks like an outstanding gadget. That might work perfect in my car. Thanks for the tip.
Scotty thanks for this video. My wife wanted something like this so she could play her own music. GREAT video
Great video Scotty! Yes, my wife has 04 Pilot & she uses an FM transmitter from Groupon! Great device!
Thanks for educating us. Keep up the good work.
I use a cassette adapter for this on my old car. Still boggles my mind how it works
you can also hook up a bluetooth adapter to it too.
That's what I used lol
It works because it has a cassette deck head attached to the cassette itself and it's pressed up against the cassette head inside the car. So instead of receiving the magnetic data from a tape, the head on the adapter is adapted to transmit magnetic signals which the car's cassette head picks up.
Cassette tape adapter to Bluetooth best sound damn FM ain't that clear.
Was going to be replacing a cassette + CD player with an expensive android... Not anymore! Thanks Scotty!
Awesomeness! Thanks for sharing this tip... cheap n easy!
Fantastic! This is just what I need.
Thanks, Scotty!
AM radios and FM converters. A blast from our past whrn we were having a blast
Sounds like a great idea. I’ll have to get one for my older car.
Always enjoy your informative pieces best around! Keep it up!
Now that little device is just amazing, Scotty. leave It up to you to find something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and get all a person's needs. Great find, my friend. Love watching your new channel, subbed and rang that bell as soon as I saw your 1st one !! I'm an old 68-year-old Ky mechanic, but when they came out with all the new electronic stuff, I was unable to keep up with all the testers a person had to buy, so I have been watching you a lot. You are a no-nonsense my kind of guy.
Lol he flexing being a android user ,.... I don’t have a headphone jack :(
Get one then, pixel 3a
It connects to iPhones via Bluetooth. I’ve been using mine that way for two years. Works great.
New Androids don't have a headphone jack either.
Y’all true but he said using a headphone jack is better...
@@rjallen70 Yes they do lmao
Scotty, you're The coolest mechanic I know! Austin Texas is in the House.
Love your channel Scotty. Thanks for all the great tips.
I’ve been using one of these in my 89 camaro for a while now. They’re totally worth it in my opinion.
I bought mine for $12 use it on my 2003 Camry XLE, best $12 I’ve ever spent !
You can just get a Bluetooth adapter for $30. Better sound.
La Pantha Were did you get it Plz?
Don't it sound kinda of air flow music static
carlos oliveira mine is Bluetooth haha
Ninobrown it has a USB port too so that’s another cool thing, and it chargers your phone fairly quickly
FM transmitters have been out for a long long time, didnt anyone have a iTrip for their Ipod?? Or a Belkin Tunecast?? In the early 2000s was the easiest way to send your tunes across from your MP3 player.
I just made a post saying this has been out for 2 decades now.
It's like he's bragging about getting a new fuckin record player at this point.
I mean I used to play my mp3 player this way and before that I used to use it to play cd players through the tape deck.
I don’t remember a brand name but I know I had some dang thing that I tuned into like 88.1FM and could play music off a DiscMan thru a simple AM/FM car radio. Because I remember getting cross-talk on the frequency from other dudes cars at the stop light on it!!!! 😂😂😂
It worked. That's about all I can say for it. The fact I had to change the station because some shitty college radio took my channel.
Quit hating lol
Yeah but he said that he has taken time to test all the right devices and then select the best one !
bought a used 2005 4runner, fun to drive when I get to but i would like to talk to friends when i'm out, defiantly going to look into this. thanks Scotty!
I recently bought a Jeep and a Mustang, neither equipped with BT or aux capabilities. I bought one of these transmitters, and they just make sense, especially if your sound system is really good to start with. I use mine all the time, but especially whenever I take long trips. It allows me to keep up with my navigation while I'm also listening to my favorite music or podcasts. Thanks as always Scotty!! -Keith
3:01 - Rev Up your calm relaxation music!
Calm relaxation music: *REV UP YOUR ENGINES!!!*
Scotty: you aren't cheap, it's thrifty. There's a difference.
Been doing this for over 10 years. They have made head units for cheaper with sd card and usb/ aux inputs. Love the channel!
Another informative video. You're absolutely right about using a "headphone" wire assuming your car stereo has the input jack (not all cars or phones do). Another good reason for the wire is that you're not broadcasting everything from your phone to anybody nearby with an FM receiver. You're not right about 4 inches between transmitter & receiver because it's the car's antenna you need to transmit to.
I remember the days when adding a FM converter was a cool and easy upgrade any one could do with their car.
now every time you start your car, you'll hear Mr Scotty "REV UP YOUR ENGINES!"
😂😂😂
That device has really helped me during those long rides in my work truck.
Amazing I remember my 1st Ford I had which was 1963 F100 3 speed manual trans and a 223 inline 6 and no radio, cars and trucks have come along way since then, I like the modification you show here that will save money and give the best bang for the buck.
Scotty: “This device will change your car to a Toyota Celica” - Project Celica Blue Beam.
4:14🤣🤣
Lol scotty listens to this
Thank you for sharing your test results!
thank you for this information and video!!!
great help!!!
That's how the early satellite radios worked. I unplugged my truck's external antenna to be able to keep any channel I selected.
Next video: I'm giving away a cassette tape deck to CD conversion device 👍
Mr Garrison mmmkay
I bought a 4 station preset Radio Shack FM Transmitter a long time ago and that worked decently in a big city. It is great to see how much this simple technology has improved and the added features these new transmitters provide nowadays.
One of my favorite episodes thus far! I remember when I first learned to drive back in the dark ages of the mid-70's I had to have FM radio! How else was I going to listen to Elton John & the Rolling Stones??? I got an FM converter and that to me was like having the upgraded stereo in my car! I love gadgets like this. And I love how Scotty appreciates those gadgets especially when it comes to making older working things work better (& not for $$$$ bucks)!

Someday I'm going to make a trip to Houston and take a selfie with Scotty.
And I want one of those transmitter for my brother. 😂😆
That's a pretty cool device! Might have to look into one. Thanks Scotty
Thanks for all your great and informative videos Scotty!! I love it!! Greetings from the Philippines!!
Scotty: you just put this corded cassette in your tape deck and plug it into your portable CD player and it sounds the same as those expensive things!!
Sounds like 25 years ago! Rocking with a massive binder of cds..
Those will never work with an older cassete. I had to replace the radio for aftermarket because the casette gears slept too much
3rdjrh he has a cd player already
those sound terrible!
It's like Scotty teleported right from 1993 and found out about 10 year old technology
Scotty, you did it again! You have found a technology that we didn't know about! Thanks for trying out things over the years, and then talk about them on your channel!
