Good morning! So happy that you have stopped by today 💜💜💜 Thank you so much for all of your questions!
Hello, Chana. I hope that you and your family are well and that you had a great Shabbos.
@@michaelurvoy hello Michael! Thank you! Yes, we had a lovely Shabbat :) Very quiet for the most part which was very nice. How was yours?
@jaroffireflies I am glad. We also had a very quiet Shabbos but it was so restful and wonderful. My inner introvert was very content. 😆
I love the fact that you don’t show your children and therefore monetise them. Good mama choice right there. Thanks for being so open, it’s lovely x
Thank you Rachel ❤️
I’m not Jewish, but it blows my mind that you don’t have a million followers. I absolutely love your style. I love your editing style (not “Hollywood,” or overly stylized) and your openness. I love learning about all the beautiful cultures I’m surrounded by
Thank you so much Jillian, that is so kind of you to say ❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE how much you respect the privacy of your family. 👏👏👏👏👏
❤️❤️❤️ thank you 😊
I love that regarding diabetes you say "it's not my story to tell", such a loving mom response, I wish more moms expressed that ♥
Thank you Susan 💜💜💜
Ahhhh I made it into the video lol. I’m so happy to say that we are friends. I feel so comfortable in reaching out to you with any questions and concerns. Unfortunately that’s not the case with many people in the field. You are such a genuine and sweet person- I love that.
Hi Sonya, I love and follow your videos as I do Chana's. You both are so genuine and authentic--so refreshing. A breath of fresh air.
Thank you Sonya 💜 It’s a weird job we have and I’m so glad we have been able to talk about it with each other and help each other out 💜
I love you both!! I watch both of your channels everyday!!
Oh my goodness, I really love these videos. You have a gentle soul and such a gracious way of taking us non-Jews with you in these explanations. I’m inhaling your q&a videos. Thanks for your candidness. And I applaud you not showing your kids. That’s so important!!!
Thank you!
Thank you dear Mrs Firefly for your wonderful sharing. It is so generous of you to share with all of us. You are such a positive, decent, wonderful person. I enjoy JoF so much. All best for you and your family.
Thank you so much! I super appreciate your kind words!
Hi Chana! Well I'm officially going to convert to Orthodox Judaism!! I'm so excited! Too much to go into but things are in alignment! I'm so grateful for your videos!
Wow that’s really huge!
Wonderful news - Much luck (Hatzlacha)!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. So interesting to learn more about you, your family and Orthodox Judaism as a whole. Can I just add that your scarf is such an amazing colour that compliments your eyes! Take care of yourself and your beautiful family 🇬🇧
Thank you so much Jenn ❤️
I want a library/bookstore, too! Books are wonderful. 💜
I'm glad your Christian friend was respectful when asked to stop proselytizing. Because it's so special to me to have an understanding with my friends, that no one is trying to convert the other. That way, we can share our own sacred experiences and celebrate together without holding back. Because we know it's an expression of trust, knowing that the other will respond with respect and love ❤️.
Your husband sounds like an awesome chef❤
He is!
Very interesting Q&A as usual :) Great that you do not show your kids on CZcams and the fact that so many people ask about it, makes your choice even more meaningful!
Thank you so much Mariarita ❤️
I am SO GLAD to have found your channel! I am Christian but knowing about Jewish religion helps me to understand Jesus' life as a Jewish man. Thank you for sharing your life! I enjoy it so much!
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!
Love this! My friends bought a house from an orthodox family in a Jewish area here in Toronto and it had two of everything but especially dishwashers! She says she will never go back to one😂 Growing up, my dad lived in the same area next door to an elderly rabbi and his wife and my dad would often be asked to turn on lights for them on shabbat as they would forget often! He’d hear the knock on the door and knew who it was just because they knocked instead of rang the doorbell😂 wonderful couple who my family still talk about more than 50 years later❤️
Thank you for sharing!
I want to say something that you already know. Enjoy every second of your sweet little babies!! My son just started his first after college grownup job in Utah and we live in Mississippi. Our daughter leaves for college this coming July. They were in our bed for movie nights literally five minutes ago. Where did the time go!?! I watch your videos and see their sweet little hands and footed pjs and cry like I’ve lost a part of me!! Children growing up and leaving is for the birds!! 😂 I’m sincerely so proud of how bright, smart and independent they are but my Momma heart is so broken!! When our son told us where he was going I looked at my husband and said, “What have we done? I’ve protected him since conception and now he’s expects me to just let go!?! Seriously!??” 😂😂😂 They all got a kick out of that but every now and then our son texts his sister to ask, “How’s Mom holding up?” It’s adorable! But squeeze them while you can! ❤❤❤
Thank you Emily
Another great Q and A!! It seems like Judaism really respects mothers and doesn’t pressure them to be at services. I love going to church, but with a house full of children, it is VERY stressful trying to get everyone there on time. Then I’m worn out and can be in a bad mood. Even with preparing the night before it can be stressful. And there’s “guilt” if you don’t go.
So good to see you today! Enjoy your week! ❤
Hi Karen! Thank you for your kind words :) Yes, women are very respected in Judaism and it is really nice to not have the pressure to go to services. I can imagine how stressful it must be to get all the kids dressed nice and out the door on time!

Protecting your children from youtube Chana is what you do as their parent They are young and innocent and your little ones💝👏 Wisdom of Ema
Thank you Debra 💜
I LOVED this Q&A!!!
I so admire your willingness to share so much of YOUR life and respecting your family’s right to privacy and their right to tell their own …Umm…(😜) stories. I, too, am a “that’s not my story to tell” person. I feel deeply that is such a matter of respect that too many people do not honor these days. Homeschooling curriculum is such a navigation. Even as a Christian using various Christian curriculums, we have had to edit things. Not everything in them aligns with our denomination’s doctrine. I think It is something every homeschooler has to pay attention to if we want to make sure our own beliefs are what is being taught to our children.
And as for owning your own library-maybe you could put a little library up in your yard/community. We have several in our town and people are always dropping off and/or taking books to share. I just love the sharing of books with others.
Have a blessed week and a wonderful Shabbat. Until next Monday-many blessings to you and yours!😊
Hello Shawn! Always such a pleasure to see you here! Love the little neighborhood library suggestion! Thank you for all your kind words :)
This is another area where a mentor 10 years ahead of you can be hugely helpful! I've received curricula others have outgrown, and passed along what we've finished with, as well.
Excellent !!! You got a lot of great questions.
Love the Daleks behind you on the shelf!
This was fun! Thanks so much for your joyful spirit.

Thank you so much for your videos. I have so much respect for you for keeping your children private.
Totally off subject, last week I kept repeating "It's okay" over and over. Guess what? It was okay! Thank you for sharing your life with me. I have learned so much. Today's Q&A helped answer several questions I had been wondering about.
Thank you so much Cheryl! I’m so glad it’s all ok 😁

These sessions are very informative and clarify a lot of misconceptions! Thank you Chana!😊🇨🇦
You're so welcome! Thank you for being here!
I agree with owning a bookshop like that , my dream was to work in a library but I became a nurse instead but book shops and libraries are my fave places to be apart from home with family my fave thing is to read with a cup of tea or coffee
Love it!
Thank you so much for sharing your life and family with us, it’s so hard to find things that aren’t offence etc to listen to and watch.
Keep doing what you’re doing and have an amazing week x
Thank you 😊 So glad you are enjoying!
Another great video, Chana! Thank you for sharing your life and beliefs with us. I love learning about your culture, homeschooling, and everything else!
Thank you Rachel!
Great Q & A Chana! I am so glad that your reduced CZcams choice is working out for you and your family. The bloopers today were super cute!!🥰😂💖
Thank you so much Karen 💜
I’ve been super busy in my life recently, but I finally have time to start watching CZcams again and I just wanted to say how calming I find your videos. I know you have your own troubles and drama, but the way you handle yourself in those times and the joy you find in life is contagious and I admire It so much!
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate that!
Great video, Chana. I love hearing about your life and culture. Many blessings.
Thank you so much Wendy!
I have a lot of respect for you keeping your children private. I did the same. I never mention my son's name on the internet or post his photos. When he was a pre-teen he really begged for social media but we declined telling him it violated the Terms of Service. Once he was 13 and could join, we told him he could join one and then 6 months later another if things were good. By then, most of his friends had been on social media for a few years and he didn't like how his friends were acting. He chose not to join social media until he was 17. He is 19 now and still chooses not to have his photos online and still only has 1 platform. I have no regrets and he has a healthy balance.
That's awesome Summer! It's hard to navigate all this since it is all so new and we haven't seen a generation totally raised on the internet grow up yet.
Good morning, I was hear sitting down and listening to you and cross stitching. Love your end of the video. Very funny and Thank you for answering all of the questions. Take care and see you next time.
So glad you enjoyed 💜 and yay for cross stitching!!! So fun!!!
Great question and answer video. Again, very happy you feel better with the 1 video a week. Have a great week!
Thank you Rochel ❤️
I always really love the green headscarves on you, they go so well with your eyes 🥰 I hope you are all well, have a good week!
Thank you Marije!
Great questions and great answers! I always wanted to know about services, so that's interesting! Loving your dedication to your family. The world would be a better place if more people would follow your example.
Thank you Betty 💜
So interesting as always. You have such a welcoming air about you, thanks!
My pleasure!
Thank you the question and answer video. Man, when I watch you, which isn't often at the moment, I start thinking of questions that I could ask.
You’re so welcome! I have another question and answer video coming up in a couple weeks!
The way that some people have made money from libraries is to have subscriptions; basically people pay a yearly fee to get to borrow books, use the space, etc. The Society Library in New York City is one remaining Subscription Library. The subscription fees allow you to do the upkeep and buy new books. So if you really want to do this . . .another option would be to fund the library though the Cosy Mystery Bookshop in the Front Yard :).
Love those suggestions and ideas thank you!
So, as a shomer shabbos Jew who lives in an apartment currently to answer the question about appliances not having shabbat mode the answer is TAPE!! lol. Friday afternoon first thing when I get home from work I tape my fridge light switch and the lights I want to keep on.
Yes! I used to tape mine too or just remove the bulb altogether:) I don’t trust myself to remember 🤣
Hi Chana! I would love to shop in your cozy mystery book store! Thank you for sharing your life and for answering these questions. As always a pleasure to watch and learn....
Thank you Janith :) Maybe I should do one of those online book shops or something :)

I’m so pleased to hear that cutting back on your videos, editing and etc., has given you a sense of relief. The week goes by so quickly and I stay so busy, that even though I loved and looked forward to each of your uploads, I’ve adjusted to the new schedule without any trauma at all! Hahaha! Best wishes for continued success with CZcams AND your role as a homeschooling wife and mother of four! ❤
Thank you so very much Judith!!!! I really appreciate you!

Thank you for your channel. It’s wonderful to listen to you answer questions while I’m doing things around the house. You mentioned running in this video. Please, please take care of your knees! I just had a total knee replacement surgery, and it was a very challenging experience! I hope you are spared from this surgery!
So glad you are enjoying! Wishing you a full recovery with no complications!
I did not know that your son is T1. My 3 y o grandson was diagnosed a year ago at age 2. I recognised the signs after 2 or so weeks whereby I took him to the ER! Thank G. that he has been really good with all that is involved.
I am so sorry that your grandson has to deal with that also! So glad that you recognized the signs!
I totally relate to not having big ideas/dreams when asked... then I start talking... and it turns out I have more dreams than I can count! 🥰💫
Love that 🥰❤️
As for your library, have you thought about building a neighborhood library in your front yard? My great-grandfather mad a really big one and put it under a tree with bench wrapped around the tree. Kids from all over the neighborhood would come and read books under the tree, borrow a book, bring books to put in it, etc. He eventually had to make it bigger (think like a curio cabinet to keep the water out) so he could add books for older kids and adults too.
Thanks for the suggestion! Its a great idea! I have seen a few of those around the neighborhood.
Thanks for sharing your life with us🌹🌻🥀
Thank you for being here!
Thank you! This was very interesting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would love to hear the story of how you found out your kiddo has diabetes, but totally understand if he doesn't want to share it. If he does want to tell the story, I would also be interested in hearing it from his point of view (through voice over to protect his identity obviously). Also, great video as always! Have a great week!
Ow what I really admire of you is how open-minded you are. Always ready to answer questions, respectfull of all relegions, that is something I sometimes miss in really religions People. So I hope that your kids will be the same, and I don't doubt they will be, with a mother like you.

You are so welcome! Thank you for watching April!
I agree with you about not allowing your children to be exposed in your videos. People can be mean and disrespectful regardless of age.
Oooohhh now I have to wait until next month? 😄
Maybe God trying to teach me patience 😂😂
I have to say to you that I really like your content.
I started searching for Jewish content because I felt lately that I want to connect a little bit more with my Jewish identity and learn more about Jewish communitys.
So I started watching all kind of videos. And yours are definitely one's of my favorites!
Aw thank you so much Daniel! Also, next month is in a few days! So you won’t have to wait too long! But you will have to wait till after Purim :) I love to share Purim here!
Love... Love.... Love the video!
Yay! Thank you!
Such an informative video today.I just love questions and answers. And i am glad the once a week video is working well for you.Two questions for 1. What is the ceremony called when a little boy turns 3 and their is cut.? 2. will your children have a Bat mitzvah and a Bar mitzvah?Have a wonderful week and a peaceful shabbat. 💗
1. Hebrew, chalaka. Yiddish, upsherin
Hi Susan! Here’s a video about the upsherin / chalaka: czcams.com/video/dLRJA10Slvg/video.html and yes, my kids will have bar / bat mitzvah
Enjoyed today’s video. I’m probably not the first to mention this but I thought of a way you could (sort of) have a library. In the neighborhood my niece lives in, there are several mini libraries. Some have built what looks to me to be a large birdhouse with a door. It sits a top a pole. In it are used books. One can take one and put one back. Hope you have a delightful week.
Love that idea thank you!
I'm totally with you on the Cozy Mysteries Book Shop!! That would be a dream come true.
It's interesting hearing how your child's T1D journey started, with us we had no warning at all, we all had the flu and my youngest just seemed to get so much sicker than we were so we went into the ER and was totally blin sided.
Oh my gosh I’m sure that was very shocking!
Your outtakes are hilarious!!
So glad you enjoyed 😊
Your green headcovering really makes your eyes pop. You look lovely!

That’s a fun idea! ❤️
Good for your son seeking help from you about the people missionising him. My kids get asked why they don't believe in JC so much at their school. I tried my hand at a Montessori school this year and I am happy to have them back to homeschooling at the end of the month. Seriously it is aggravating.
I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with that also!
Hello ! Thank you for your nice answer. All the best for you. I was asking what you were doing on Purim because in the last days there was Carnival or Fastnacht in many countries in Europe. Kind regards Alexandra W.
You are so welcome!
Fun fact: the shul near my old apartment has two completely separate kitchens, one dairy and one meat. Thanks for taking time for this Q&A!
You just reminded me of my school lunchroom, and it's 2 separate kitchens. Hadn't thought about it in years. Thanks for the laugh 😂
I'm really glad that the shift to 1 video a week is working for you! This is honestly making a nice end to my day (errand day, including the DMV, AKA the worst place on EARTH).
To the home school curriculum question, I have a friend from college who was home schooled whose mom had to take a giant sharpie to parts of, of all things, a chemistry book because somehow between all the chemistry stuff were whole sermons. The Chemistry content was fine and accurate, it was the random sermons (also weird... so weird).
The bookstore and library are my fav places. You could do a Little Free Library out front of your house if you wanted? Could be cute.
The tattoo thing is interesting, I always thought just GIANT NONO (I have a tattoo. It's pretty awesome but the process of getting one is... ouch. Kinda feels like scraping? Like skinned knee but prolonged?)
They make small tabletop/countertop dishwashers if you want a 2nd and don't want to remodel the kitchen, and I've seen folks use a toaster oven instead of getting a 2nd oven.
Also the channel frum it up is run by an Orthodox Jewish woman who is a physician. I have an acquaintance from college who is Jewish and is a Hebrew teacher now (can't remember what her major was though, we were on the same floor in the freshman dorm which is how we met).
Thank you for your kind words and your suggestions! Sounds ike you had a very accomplished day!
@@jaroffireflies It was busy and long... then I accidentally ruined dinner (grabbed vanilla soy milk on accident... vanilla soy milk doesn't go in stew) and at that point I just burst into tears because I was done.
@@FennecTheRabbit oh no! I’m so sorry! I know exactly how you felt at that moment 😢
And again an amazing Q&A. I love hearing more about your beliefs. I feel close to y'all because the Jewish nation, Israel is where our one true God became known to the Jews. So we have something in common that I important that can't be taken away from us. God bless you channel.
Thank you Deborah 💜
