After the 5th and final film in the classic PLANET OF THE APES series came out, CBS made a spin-off TV series in 1974, and the pilot episode was titled "ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW" and the opening credits sequence began with a musical sound-effect similar to how this 3 minute track begins . . . but after that the music here takes a funky turn, and doesn't sound anything like the music Lalo Schifrin composed for that debut episode of PLANET OF THE APES. I had absolutely no idea that this 45 was released back then, and I wonder that the PLANET OF THE APES show wasn't mentioned on the 45 single, or that imagery from the show wasn't used for the packaging. Instead we have the 'FUNKY BLACK IS FUNKY BLACK' circular logo around the profile of a black chick with an afro. Very curious. At any rate, it's cool to see and hear this long-lost item which I, as a huge POTA fan, had never even known about until now, so thanks for the upload!
