My daughter's got addicted to this theme, she listens to it even in the bath, and I'm so proud I showed it to her! :-D
Makes her not late for school or maybe online class
You have done your job well as a parent
Your daughter's 47.

The great thing about life is....you can stumble across something wonderful, like this CZcams clip, and have it lift your spirits for days.
Agreed. and it did just that!
That comment has significantly lowered my spirits
Yes, it is. Agree no more. A few day ago, I myself alone celebrate a local holiday and I searched this song and found this version. It raised my spirit up. What a enjoyable leisure activity alone!
Stanly Blacks orchestra playing slaughter on Tenth Avenue does it for me Every time.
I don't believe in spirits
Excellent cover but I was disappointed the orchestra didn't go up in smoke at the end
Lol
LOL funny

It was acid man

Takes me back to the show. I watched it with my mom and dad.
Can't believe this happened 4 years ago at my local college and I never even knew about it wow
Where has this happened?? Which college?
Music starts at 2:19; lovely lead in story by the conductor.....love this song, thanks for posting! I want this as my ringtone!!!!

Bloody brilliant. This is the original sound. Awesome orchestra and a brilliant and enthusiastic conductor. Love it. X
I like his commentary, too.
Look up the 007 theme - awesome.
Yes. That is the original sound (theme song) of Mission Impossible tv series.
Guy in the back: "We just played the theme for Mission Impossible!"
"Wow!" What instrument did you play?"
Guy in the back: "The shaker box."
that guy is awesome, he loves this music almost as much as I do ! LALO SCHIFRIN for the win ! ! !
When television shows were entertaining and great stuff.
Movies better
Your mission: skip the first three minutes.
Why would you?
Music Starts at 2:22 ... 3 is close enough! Opening monologue.... Meh. I blame the editors though. Really I do.
Martin Kilpert Agree
Must you choose to accept it
ruben hernandez what? Very interesting trivia for musicians, especially learning about Brubeck’s influence and the 5-4 time signature. Maybe that’s because I’m a musician though.
Lalo Shifrin... still going strong at 90! 5 grammys ... what a great version!
It's so amazing watching people of all ages, people with classic education, playing Mission Impossible theme and really enjoying it!
Cause it's all about music in the end..
This is my theme when I get into the kitchen and attempt to make dinner for the fam.
Joe Z this made me laugh so hard lol
But does the dinner self destruct if not made in time for the family?🤔😉

So cool, you don't realize how many instruments are playing in this theme. The sense of urgency is this best best part of the theme the way it comes out. Hats off to Lalo. I grew up with this original series. "Good morning Mr. Phelps...."
This version "lights the match" for me.
I love this tune since I was 10 ! Mission Impossible is a legendary!
i still believe this is the best version out of all Misson Impossible theme musics
I love it when the musicians are having a fun time.
It's 2022 and this theme is still as cool as Hell.
Ikr
Same as 2023 pal. Heck, A Japanese TV program for the 2023 countdown litterly had this for the opening countdown
I was at this performance in July 2007 sitting in the first row behind the percussion section in the Sydney Opera House. The whole performance was amazing especially the very beginning. The first half of the performance was a movie scoring for a movie that was never made nor was ever intended to be made I guess. The Mission Impossible theme was the closing number.
The drummer at the drum set kept the perfect beat for a very difficult song, that's why he was singled out at the end.
The orchestra is just fantastic. I am beside myself in tears. It takes me back in time to the 70's when I watched the tv series. Folsum Lake Symphony, thank you so much. I cannot thank you enuf.
This is the best rendition of the Mission Impossible Theme song. I couldn’t help but think back to when we watched the series during its original run. Excellent job to all those involved. 👏😃
Great piece...everyone was on cue but the drummer was the biggest highlight for me...❤❤❤
Great. Just great. Sir, you are undoubtedly, a Master of the Art ! I am 64. I saw the first episode.
All the best. Trinidad & Tobago.
I'm the same age. Saturday night staple after the Jackie Gleason Show.
This give me goose bumps every time I hear it. What an amazing job they did!
Big respect for everyone in the orchestra AMAZING ART MUSICIANS 👏🏼
The goosebumps means your brain enjoys the music.
Amazing "real stuff"!!!!! Beautiful score 👍😎
This was fabulous! I never understood why I didn't like the theme music from the movies, but after listening to the short lecture on its history, it became clear. Why would they "dumb down" such a great classic?
I agree! The original theme is SO much better! Why mess with perfection?
A theme that never gets old.
Nothing vamps it like 1960s spy music. Just as a genre, so much good stuff, and this is just a great piece, played with a lot of love and a lot of fun. Nice to see the conductor and musicians so into it.
I can just see the match being lit and fuse running across. Loved the old series.
I was smiling when i listened this amazing performance.
Just wow...
Unbelievable how well this is played

...originally it was Mr Briggs...Stephen Hill...and in the first episode Peter Lupus (allegedly) carried Wally Cox, concealed inside a suitcase, into a bank vault...

Who wanna light the fuse after hearing this
this always reminds me of my childhood..and my father, who loved this show..
That was an Impossible Mission accomplished. I always liked that song, but now I appreciate it much more.
Utterly timeless. Still just as entrancing, as completely captivating as it was when I was a teenager watching the brand new TV series in its first season. Brilliant.
A great theme, still a classic
I love the bluesy flute solo section esp the second time around when the strings creep in... beautifully done!
An under-appreciated irony of Lalo Schifrin's original "MI" theme Is that his inspiration may not just have come from Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" but from an earlier spy opus. In 1964, the TV series "The Man From UNCLE" began its first season. The series title theme was composed by the always innovative Jerry Goldsmith who used 5/4 although for episodic cues he sometimes went to 4/4 and other time signatures. Every bit as much as Schifrin's 5/4 MI theme, Golsmith's original "UNCLE" arrangement is quite a driving. ear-catching work. Nevertheless, for unknown reasons, the series producers chose to keep using the theme but likewise dumbed it down. Thus in the subsequent three "UNCLE" seasons (and the spin-off season of "Girl From UNCLE"), Goldsmith's piece was re-arranged by different composers. First up: Mr. Schifrin! He migrated the original score into 4/4. Thus in his later "MI" composition he may well have been influenced by both Brubeck and Goldsmith. Interestingly, the beats in Goldsmith's tune are different from those in Schifrin's MI theme. More than one way to skin 5/4 time -- as the Pathetique symphony by Tchaikovsky also demonstrates.
I absolutely love it all. The trombones, the percussion drums. even the most important girl who is ticking the hollow beats. love it.
Mission: Possible. Impressive arrangement and performance!!!!! It's pretty blow-minding!!!
I’ve watched this like 15 times I can’t stop.
When you are trying to escape school without being seen
That's impossible!!!
My friend knows how to climb to school fence. She did it once but didn't escape
Lol
R.I.P. Dave Brubeck one of the great jazz pianist of the 20th Century.
Thank You for music❤❤❤
I bless all the musicians with abundantly, prosperity, great health and immense wealth with a heart filled with happiness, love & forgiveness
Thank you for thr history behind it. I've danced Ballet since I've been six years old, and the history is so important for Interpretation. .
I am a music lover. Now I have found a piece of music with Five 4 Time. How wonderful it is! He even explained how it works. Fantastic!
Now go get Brubeck's album. In vinyl if you can, CD if nothing else.
Trumpeter and bandleader Don Ellis also explored unusual time signatures, in particular 7/4.
A superb performance of a superb piece of music. Thank you and Lalo.
How nice to "see" this being played rather than just hear.
Love how Mr. Jaffe explains what they will be playing.
Suscribed before the music even started ! 😊😊
Wow, thanks Mr Conductor for that introduction. Growing up in South Africa, jazz was a big music and we had a pleasure of listen to Dave Brubeck's music through his son Darius Brubeck playing piano and keyboards, a music professor at the University of KwaZulu Natal in Durban South Africa.
Thank you for this Mission Impossible theme song as it takes me back to the good old days.
Love your arrangement.
This theme was among the favorites at my junior high school...too bad our band didn't learn to play it!
I give A+ to all musicians and the conductor in this video! This song/performance is really smooth/really rocks!!!
My God,
The most BEAUTIFUL performance I have ever seen and heard.
An orchestra leader with all this feeling and an orchestra with so many good musicians.

Wow, a very well play masterpiece, bring back memories, thank you for your music.
Am amazed how they teamwork without confession and how the coordinate am really speechless. It's just wow, wow, !!!

Me opening the fridge for apple juice in midnight:
Flawless execution, outstanding performance and incredible arrangement. Congratulations.
One of the greatest themes ever...love this song and this version
That was great. Thanks very educational.
Wow! Nailed it without a single mistake! Good job 👏
Im proud of this group of elderlymost peoples that can still play this type of hard to play music in a big number of talents that collides as one..very talented guys
Yes often older people are very talented. MIssion Impossible is a very simple song compared to most classical pieces. For a orchestral level player it is probably demeaning. It would be like making them play a Snoop Dogg song.
IMF would accept any mission with this background music. Brilliant.!
This video is so underrated.
What I wouldn't have given for that guy to teach me music composition!
Brilliant. Played this sooo many times.
One of the best orchestras that can exist really good and of an excellent music quality (Mancini, orchestra, impossible mission, Peter Gunn, soundtrack, film music)
Yeah the live orchestra knocked it out of the park. Their signature rhythm was off the charts. Not an easy thing to do for odd time signatures where the beats aren't as easy to measure without a metronome.
Very very cool. I was back in time watching my kids band competitions. Well done!!!!
Wow! Didn't expect such a big orchestra from the opening close up sequence. Wow! That must have taken some arranging for all those instruments. Wow!
Who doesn't know the theme from Mission Impossible? I loved the theme and the show. What had it every Friday night right after This Is Tom Jones. Both great shows!
How are you doing today my name is Eric moore
Sent this to my son who is a junior high school music director. I had never heard of a 5/4 time signature. Great job maestros!
How rewarding this is. Such gifts and talent from each of you including the video, and timing. So moving, Thank you!!
I LOVE it!! Great song first thing in the morning. Got my energy going.
Magnificent performance of possibly the coolest theme song. I feel like scaling the side of the house after hearing this!
"Jim Phelps" would be proud! Excellent original sound! The clarinet player is great and beautiful too!!!
Well done. Loved it. I could feel my eardrum pulsing. :-)
One of my favourite pieces. Thank you.
As far as I'm concerned, Paramount should just not even bother writing yet another new version for the next movie and just hire these guys to play EXACTLY this arrangement in its entirety. Best version of this I have ever heard, and the first time I recall ever hearing Mr. Schifrin's entire original composition.
This is what i call a perfect version of this music.
YEAH BABY!!!!!! You made mi night worth it.
The drummer is having the most fun with this song
It is 4 am in NYC, and I cannot sleep. thank God for insomnia.
Could listen to this all day.. so fascinating
I like this conductor a lot , he is smart, funny, cliver and like to educate audience.
Excellent! One of my top 3 favorite TV theme songs of all time!
My hats off to these talented people ! I used to watch the series and this rendition gives me goosebumps !,
Drummers always look like they are having fun!
They arent. They go home and have the shit beat out of them
@@CaptainSpalding72 I was thinking of how much fun they appear to be having while they are playing! I don't know enough drummers on a personal level to know what happens to them when they get home!

Absolutely fantastic. I love this music and to hear it in its purest and original format is heaven. Thank you for uploading.
Great video. Loved oboe man wetting his double reeds. Learning more about difficult time signatures is very interesting for me.
